They looked bad last year but got calls and got lucky a ton of times.

This year they look bad and the refs aren't bailing them out.

Besides Mahomes' scrambling ability there's not a lot going on with the offense. Maybe that'll change with Worthy and Rice back.

It'll probably get better with worthy and rice, but their offense looks terrible right now.  O-line gives mahomes no time, and they are using Kareem hunt who is long in the tooth... as is kelce.

They will be there. Their offense has looked like this now for the last 3 years.

Their defense is their bread and butter now and has been. They’ll be in a lot of tight low scoring games. Their question is can they continue to win the 1 score games that they have historically done in the past.

So far 0-2 but to two solid to good football teams,

Yesterday was doubly enjoyable for me. The Chiefs lost again and I finally saw someone lay a salacious hit on Hurts near the end of the game when he was dipsy doodling that he has had coming for the past two years but nobody seems to have accomplished. Win Win!

I have a hard time enjoying it while seeing the Eagles allowed to false start on every Tush Push.

The NFL better get this addressed before we play them. And better not wait until after the Eagles beat us in the playoffs (Super Bowl) to fix it like they've historically done.

Down, but definitely not out.  They will be in the playoffs and their performance will improve at the season wears on and their WR come bac from injury.  Definitely a dangerous team.

hot takes about KC in September probably won't age well. People said the same things about NE, and yet in January they were always there. None of these games matter.

Kind of reminds me of the years the Brady era Pats would lose some games in September and October but would pull it together and look like themselves by December. The Chiefs played a good Chargers team in week 1 in Brazil on a Friday (very funky week 1 on top of week 1 already being funky) and then they played the defending Super Bowl Champs at home in a tight 3 point game.

I'm not saying KC doesn't look like they have issues. But I think if/when they get Rice and Worthy back that offense will look different. I also think they will add a piece on offense via trade. This just isn't looking like a big deal just yet. Now if KC loses to the Giants this week then we can sound the alarms. I think the KC schedule will go something like this. They will beat up on Giants and go 1-2, then they will lose to the Ravens and go 1-3 but they will win 3 out of 4 between the Raiders, Jags, Lions and Commanders and be 4-4.

Afterwards the Bills will push them back down to 4-5 and people will write them off and I think they go 6-2 to end the season as they will probably beat the Cowboys, Texans, Colts, Titans, and split their last Division games 2-2. KC will be 10-7 and make the wildcard.

Would you still say the games don't matter if the Bills were 0-2?

This^.

The only thing that's good is it probably takes them out of the 1 seed as they'll probably have to go 13-2 in their remaining games to even have a chance.

But ya I still see them winning their division with 11-12 wins

If the Chargers win tonight, they will effectively have a three-game lead over KC.

We should already be scrubbing up on executing it the way they do.  Hell, start executing it that way in games right away.  We can get good at it ourselves.

Or

We start executing it the same Offside/false start like they do during regular season.... now you got 2 teams doing it that way.  More attention on it.  Maybe they'll start calling it right once the fans moaning loud enough.  If not we can at least match their energy.

It depends how they lost and who we lost to. If we lost because we had the same flaws that cause us to lose every January, then yea I'd been concerned that we still haven't addressed key problems. If there were tough bounces in a hard fought loss to high end teams? Not so much.

Frankly, I still feel nervous about our week 1 game against the Ravens, as I feel the game script and results were very similar to the playoff win last year and both times we needed a tremendous amount of luck to bounce our way to get out with a win. Whether or not we won in Week 1 was less interesting to me than the lack of answers we had for their rushing attack.

This time of year, getting better is my primary focus.

Yep that's true, but would you bet money on the chargers to win the division over KC?

I definitely wouldn't As good teams always rise in December.

I remember in 2023 the bills were down like 4 games in the division with 6 to go and they still caught Miami and won the division lol.

Was going to say the same thing. I'll never forget when people in 2014 I believe said the Pats dynasty was dead when they lost to the Chiefs 41-14 week 4.... they won the SB that year haha.

Chiefs will be there come January. Their offense is not in its final form and once Rice/Worthy are back I do think they will have a lot more teeth there. With that said it is hard to be as good as they have been this long without having a down year or two or losing in the playoffs earlier, I do think this is probably their worst roster in a while which still is not saying a lot.

That’s a weird thing to say ‘the only thing’ about haha kc lookin on the outside of the 1 seed and probably having to battle a little harder to win the division has massive playoff implications.  Idk why people continue to not see it that way

It’s not just dumb luck they’re always freakishly healthy come playoff time the last few years and their opponents are pretty banged up.  Even the year they were the 3 seed they got to rest guys down the stretch because there was just no competition for the division

this whole ‘the regular season doesn’t matter’ thing has gotten out of control imo.   it matters a ton
