Watching since 1964 Posted September 12 Author Posted September 12 More from Oliver yesterday…via Parrino. ” Oliver did an interview after practice yesterday where he spoke about the nature of the practice as the Bills were in pads. When asked about the defense's struggles last week, Sean McDermott said on Wednesday that the week of practices needed to be hard.” Quote
TheyCallMeAndy Posted September 12 Posted September 12 I imagine Jordan Phillips will be active with Oliver out. Huge blow. 1 Quote
Juice_32 Posted September 12 Posted September 12 Let the rookies get thrown into the fire and bubble wrap Oliver and Bosa until the playoffs. 1 2 Quote

This is where the Ogunjobi suspension and Carter Achilles come back to bite you. I suspect he’ll also be out for the Dolphins since it will be such a short turnaround for Thursday Why Phillips? Quote
gonzo1105 Posted September 12 Posted September 12 11 minutes ago, chris heff said: Why Phillips? Because he’s more of a natural 3 tech despite his size. Phillips and Sanders as the 3T and Jones and Walker as the 1T. Think we might see Landon Jackson active this week as well just for rotational depth 1 Quote
Big Blitz Posted September 12 Posted September 12 If he wasn’t playing Sunday no chance he was playing next Thursday Quote
Doc Brown Posted September 12 Posted September 12 Schefter just reported it's a multi week injury. 5 1 Quote

Already the Bills defense is struggling with assignments and I don't think it would be helpful having a guy on the field who's unfamiliar with the system. I understand the concern caused by Oliver's injury because the Jets have a strong running game. That said, I'm glad that we're in the soft portion of our schedule. After the Jets we have: Dolphins Saints Patriots @ Falcons @ Panthers We have a good chance at running the table without Oliver. Our next real challenge is the Chiefs (at home) on November 2nd. In the grand scheme of things, Oliver's injury comes at a good time. 3 Quote

Lot of college teams strap one on and give a scooter as a precaution for as little as foot soreness This isn't college! But unbelievable, he was dominant and behind 17 is the reason we're 1-0 , hope it's week to week Quote
Logic Posted September 12 Posted September 12 Coming off, apparently, his best camp as a pro, and that big game week 1......this really stinks. A foot injury, in particular, for a guy that relies on first step quickness and explosiveness to succeed. *****. I'm not gonna doom and gloom about it, but there's no sugar coating the fact that it sucks, both for the player and for the team. 2 Quote
SCBills Posted September 12 Posted September 12 How will we keep Bosa healthy? (everyone else on defense gets hurt) Quote
CoffeeDrip Posted September 12 Posted September 12 Don't like him being out versus the Jets, they are always a tough team for us for some reason. Versus the Dolphins? Less worry there, especially if that team continues to play like it did week 1 (disinterested and disorganized). Quote
PoundingDog Posted September 12 Posted September 12 Geez nobody saw him using the scooter to get to the interview podium? Quote
DaggersEOD Posted September 12 Posted September 12 Have they disclosed the nature of the injury? Is it a sprain, a bruise, a break? They keep saying “injury” and it seems purposely worded yet vague. Quote
Virgil Posted September 12 Posted September 12 To say that we are snake-bitten this year with roster health would be an understatement. Multiple weeks from someone stepping on your foot in a walk-through is insane. Quote

OBD says it is an ankle injury...someone stepped on his ankle during practice. https://www.buffalobills.com/news/buffalo-bills-injury-report-vs-jets-week-2 2 Quote
