I understand you should have a fair amount of respect for any opponent, but its only Tuesday and people are already hand-wringing over the Jets DL or running game?? I know division games are always a little closer than they should be, but if you think there is any less than an 80% chance the Bills win this game, then you are just a professional worrier. Recent history at MetLife says this will be a very close game. Five out of the last 6 games there were decided by one score. They also lost to Zach Freaking Wilson twice in that stadium. I would love it if the Bills were up big and the Bills backups were playing in the 4th quarter. But what I think you will see is the game will still be in doubt in the 4th quarter. The Bills should win as they are the better team, but I bet its close. In my football pool I took the Jets +7.5. 2 Quote

I expect them to try and confuse Fields with a lot of disguised coverage. In particular I think Bernard and Milano will look like the high quality starters we've come to expect. It should be easier without having to keep tabs on three very credible rushing threats. My prediction: 31-17 Bills. I agree that of any aspect of this game, the D will come out and play better than Sunday night. They cannot get gashed in the run like that again. The Jets have a good RB in Hall but he's not Henry. Overall though, I think the Bills will suffer a bit of a first half hangover from the big Ravens comeback. They should come on in the 2nd half to come away with the W. Hopefully it's not a last second sweat it out type thing. Quote

I just saw the money line was Bills -330, which gives an implied 77% chance of winning. So you're right where Vegas is now. I do think the Jets will be the most improved team in football this year, and our only real competition in the division. Given that this is an early season game (where true talent probably wins out less frequently) and in NJ, if forced to bet this one I would take the Jets at +260. Which I won't do because I'd never bet against the Bills! 2 Quote

If the offense plays to their average ~30 pts per game and the defense plays the way they usually do against middling QBs (which would be a major improvement), I don't see how they lose. The Jets have some stars but ultimately does anyone really think it'll matter? They're the Jets until they prove otherwise. Edited Tuesday at 06:46 PM by Bruffalo 1 Quote
Fleezoid Posted Tuesday at 06:22 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:22 PM (edited) Here is my hope: Bills take care of business against division enemies the next 4 weeks. Eagles beat the Chiefs this week Ravens lose to the Lions week 3. (It would awesome if they could lose to the Browns this week. Probably not gonna happen. But the Browns won one against them last year) Ravens beat the Chiefs week 4. If those happen and Bills beat the Saints, they'll be in really good shape (said Captain Obvious). Not entirely, but enough to get all of our pass catchers rolling early. Winning like we did against the Ravens definitely isn't sustainable. On defense, I would hope, to see more 3rd down stops happen. It was a problem last year and still is. A few things need to happen to right the ship. Would be great if our D can actually force multiple punts throughout the game! 2 Quote

The Jets are lead by a smart guy who isn't fooling around. @Simon Stated earlier they also have a damn solid OC that is working to that teams strengths. Allen always seems to have issues at their place so there is reason to be slightly concerned. The Jets aren't going to be playing like the Jests much longer I think. 1 1 2 Quote
TheyCallMeAndy Posted Tuesday at 07:16 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:16 PM This should be a big Dorian Williams game as the Jets have a pretty physical run game. Quote
Billsatlastin2018 Posted Tuesday at 07:21 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:21 PM @ Jets, 3 Day Old Fish, Saints, Patsies, @ Falcons, @ Panthers? CHAMPIONSHIP Teams run the table with these bottom feeders and lesser lights. All in prep for the big one- Home against Kermit. When the PED boys are back in circulation. NO LETTING UP! This week will be a tussle. The Meadowlands has not been favourable to the Bills over the years. I don’t believe they will cover the spread, but JUST WIN BABY! 2 1 Quote

Alphadawg7 Posted Tuesday at 07:34 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:34 PM We are currently in a great position right now for the #1 seed. We essentially have a 2 game lead on Balt because we now have the tie breaker. So if Ravens beat KC, we will be 2 games up on both -- who still should be our biggest threats to the 1 seed. So now the Bills just need to handle their business and win all these games we are supposed to win. If we do that, we will have the 1 seed locked up by week 15. 3 Quote

Jets this Sunday and 4 days later the Dolphins on Thursday night. The Bills have an opportunity to win two divisional games over a 4-day period. This would put them in a great position to control the AFCE if they can do this. I personally think they will blowout the Dolphins at home, but this Jets game is going to be a tough one. Quote
RunTheBall Posted Tuesday at 07:48 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:48 PM There is not going to be an emotional letdown from any NFL team in week 2. You guys are just expressing your own anxiety. Besides the fact that you’ve got a much more mature and dialed in Josh Allen who’s found that balance of not too high/not too low. I don’t care what history shows, if we don’t turn the ball over it will be a comfortable Bills victory. A couple turnovers will keep it close for the Jets and even then we probably still win. 2 Quote

harryS Posted Tuesday at 08:10 PM Posted Tuesday at 08:10 PM Haha, no "nervous nellie" here. I actually think we will win 5 consecutive easy games after this Jets game. And a Bills let down is barely a consideration. I just think this Jets team is pretty solid this year, and the Bills are not ready to click on all cylinders yet in Week 2. We'll see who's right. I'll have Jets +6.5 and pay a price if I'm wrong. 1 Quote

One point you're forgetting. The Steelers had ZERO film of the Jets offense. With new coaches, playbook, and QB, the league had little idea of what they would see. We have four quarters of film where they had to pull out all the stops to try to get a win. 4 Quote
