This is their Super Bowl and I know they’re coming out swinging tomorrow. And Fields is the type of QB that is successful against McDermott’s defense. QBs we never play almost always steal a game on them. Gotta attack Fields early on. Don’t give him any confidence early on… It will be tough, but these are the kinds of games championship teams win. I imagine it being a close first half, but you'd hope the Bills have enough to pull away in the second half. A blowout would be great but I'll be happy seeing the Bills giving a workman like performance and handling them comfortably. Of course being a cynical Bills fan I also won't be surprised if they lose 1 Quote

Not going to get that much interest as a one trick role player. My fear is he's now a no-trick pony. As he didn't look great in Training Camp or the Pre-Season. He wasn't given many reps in Week 1 (seemed to be all Cook and Johnson, Davis had one carry). He's not picking up the tough yards anymore and he doesn't have the finesse skill set or the speed to be the kind of back he'd like to be. Really baffling decision by him. He had a good thing going as a change of pace power back. 1 Quote

I cannot believe he decided to drop mass this off-season. The whole reason he was brought in was to be the heavy to James Cook's finesse. I was in shock listening to him say "I cut weight bc last year I was just being used for tough yardage and I want to be more of a complete back". It doesn't shock me at all that he only had one carry last week and the team seems to be completely focusing on just Cook and Johnson. Did the team ask him to drop weight or did he do it on his own? If he did it on his own and it was contrary to what he was told in his exit meeting last January, then I can see why he didn’t get many preseason reps. Quote

technobot Posted September 14 Posted September 14 The game might be a struggle but we should be fine. I can't imagine us: a) coming out as poorly on defense as last week and b) losing this game because we don't have Ed Oliver (much love to big Ed). Quote

That was a cold windy weather game. And he didn’t have Garrett Wilson or Breece hall. Can’t draw anything from that game 1 Quote

He had a good thing going as a change of pace power back. Davis will be fine. He played sparingly in the preseason and then game script last week dictated minimal touches for him. Even Ty only had two touches, just like Ray. Hard to pick up the “tough yards” when you only get one handoff, but he’ll get his turn when game script dictates it. Quote
Mikie2times Posted September 14 Posted September 14 We are 1-2, with one three point win in NY the last 3 years. Missing Oliver, who kept this defense alive last week. As others have stated, this is basically Baltimore light. Betting line has been coming down. To me this is a no brainer. Its going to be a close game. Quote

You'd prefer he play with a sprained ankle, be ineffective, and likely exacerbate the injury to the point where he would be out much longer? 1 Quote
SoTier Posted September 14 Posted September 14 I think the Jests have a lot more to fear from the Bills than the Bills have to fear from them. Can the Jests win the game? Sure, but their chances are significantly lower than the chances of the Bills leaving Met Life 2-0. Quote

Both of them are gone. Coach Glenn's defense in Detroit left a lot to be desired...and Allen had success against it. They don't have DJ Reed opposite Gardner anymore. They don't have CJ Mosley anymore who always showe up against us. I just don't think their defense is all that great anymore. Fields can be very hot/cold. Make him play QB and you got a good chance to stop their offense. Shut down the run and keep them behind the sticks on 1st and 2nd down....then do whatever you have to to stop Garrett Wilson on 3rd. 2 Quote

DapperCam Posted September 14 Posted September 14 I think this will be a close game, and our defense will continue to struggle. The realistic best case scenario in my mind is that the Jets keep it a close game in the first half and the Bills pull away in the second half. Quote
Brianmoorman4jesus Posted September 14 Posted September 14 I want wholesale changes on defense. This doesn’t work. I don’t care what we did or how we think. It’s incorrect. I want to see 3 LBs on the field. I don’t care what that means for Tarron Johnson. Everyone loves that guy and fine, he’s pretty good. He’s nowhere near as good as they make him out to be. If he’s that important, move him outside. Stop letting teams run on you. Use a base defense. Blitz. We aren’t getting there with 4, I know what you want to do. It doesn’t work. Confuse the QB and send people the way Minnesota does. I want to see Benford following Wilson. Nobody else matters in the passing game. I want our best on their best. No more of this BS we do on defense. It needs to get better 1 Quote
