They appear to have Bosa on a snap count, preserving his elderly physique for future use in more important situations.

Bosa just turned 30 during camp, he's not nearly as old as most people think. He could end up having a VERY good season for us. Plus with him seeming to be having the most fun he's ever had in his career while on the Bills, he could re-sign at a reasonable price.

Agree, also when Hoecht is active things could get exciting for the DL.

He looked like one more piece of the puzzle in what little we saw of him in preseason. You can usually stop one guy (unless he’s Chris Jones), but two or more is much more difficult. If we had every guy on the roster healthy and available at the same time, we have a very formidable defensive front.

He’s 💯 going to have a tremendous season for us- as long as he’s healthy

Not enough of one honestly. Unless theyre letting him get some extra time first few games, with the intention of ramping it wayyyyy down.

Even so he was on the field way too late in Jets game. Dude should see a few 3rd downs in first half and then hopefully we're up enough to get him in a ballcap

I think all of the defensive line members were under 30 snaps each. I just think they are doing an aggressive rotation.

So, you think he should play about 7 snaps a game or less?  What would you consider to be the appropriate snap count for Bosa?

Watching the game I thought the same he was playing more than I expected, but read today he only played was like 26 snaps.  Maybe was a case of the announcers talked about him on 25 of the 26 snaps so seemed like he played all game??

Mmm now I want to see Joe Brady put Jackson Hawes on him at practice to see what Bosa will still think it is an insult to him.

Is Joe Brady mad at Jackson Hawes?

That's a good plan. I like it, a lot.

We have good depth players--use them.

Bosa must love playing his home games in front of fans who are rooting for him and his teammates. Probably never knew that feeling playing home games for the Chargers.

He looks like he enjoys playing here. I’m sure it helps were 2-0 hopefully he stays healthy.

I thought he was one and done here but it wouldn’t surprise me if he stays healthy he might realize the most money  isn’t the way to go and decides to stay for less money.

Hes even said a couple of times how he feels like an old guy now in this league and seems he realized his football mortality

Bosa in 2024 with the Chargers played 66% of the teams snaps roughly in the mid 30's in terms of raw snap counts per game. Bosa managed to play 14 games last year. In week 1 Bosa played 35 snaps accounting for 66% of the teams snaps. So very heavy use similar to his last year in San Diego where he missed a few games. In week 2 Bosa played 26 snaps accounting for 55% of the teams defensive snaps.

I think the Bills are going to have to try to keep Bosa much closer to his week 2 snap count and percentage if they want to keep him healthy. What worries me is that unless the game is a garbage time Q4 game like against the Jets the Bills don't have much at DE to rotate him out until Hoecht gets back from suspension.

Groot is playing as heavy a snap count, AJE and Solomon rotate in but both guys are better suited in rotational roles. I would bite the bullet so to speak and play AJE more with Groot and have AJE hit a higher snap count even if he's less impactful than Bosa. When Hoecht gets back they can have Hoecht take most of Solomon's snaps and eat into Bosa's snaps too. But that's 4 games from now. Hopefully the Bills can just blowout the Fins and Bosa just gets pulled in the last quarter of the game and this is a non-issue.

Yup, he stands out on more plays than not.  Stay healthy Joey!

To me, Bosa looked ‘checked out’ @ his initial presser. I think he might’ve found some inspiration from playing the Ravens game!

That was the case last week with the 4th qtr being garbage time and also with EO injured.  All the starters played 67% vs the ravens iirc.  Until Hoecht is available, I think the starters will continue around 67%- at that point, I think the DE’s may rotate more

He's actually playing more than I thought he would. 69% Week 1. 55% Week 2 in a blowout.
