FLFan Posted Monday at 12:25 AM Posted Monday at 12:25 AM Carter was the 5th DT on the depth chart and would have been 6 when Larry O comes back. They are going to be just fine without him, short and long term. Shame for the young man though. 2 3 1 Quote

JohnNord Posted Monday at 12:26 AM Posted Monday at 12:26 AM Damn it sucks. But honestly, I don’t think he was playing much this season anyway. He probably would’ve been a healthy scratch as he was last season. I like the draft pick at the time but I’ve never been overly impressed with Carter, sans 1 or 2 plays against Tennessee last season. You can blame the injury if you want, but his tape last year was really bad. It’s not coincidence the Bills drafted 2 players at Carter’s same position this year. Beane said they were hoping to move him to 1-Tech but that’s not his natural position and I don’t feel it would have went well 1 hour ago, BillMafia716ix said: He was average to begin with and now off the Achilles he’s cooked. Sucks for him. We missed on that draft pick… He never was average in the NFL. His play was below average most of the time 2 hours ago, buffblue said: Man than sucks. He looked very promising prior to the injury last season but it's been all downhill since. Hate to see 2nd day picks become lost causes so quickly. His film wasn’t that great. He made one good stop against Tennessee 4 1 2 Quote

It’s part of the reason Mike White is not here. That's a fair point. But that doesn't mean it can't be done. It would just mean one of Kendrick Green, Dan Feeny, Jordan Phillips, Dane Jackson, Jordan Poyer, or Sam Franklin are moved off and replaced with a developmental guy. I don't think it's crazy to think they'd move on from one of their two vet Center's in Kendrick Green or Dan Feeny or one of their two vet Safeties in Jordan Poyer or Sam Franklin to bring back one of Ankou or Jefferson. Likely the 2nd IOL, as Franklin is more ST's than Safety. As the 1T spot is one injury away from being called up and whoever the last man on the totem pole is at Center is two injuries away from being called up. Quote
ChronicAndKnuckles Posted Monday at 12:53 AM Posted Monday at 12:53 AM I’m one of the few that respect Jordan Philips game. I love the energy he brings and If schemed properly is still a pass rush threat. No offense to Carter, but he wasn’t looking like his career was going anywhere. Maybe that’s not fair, but you’re only useful if u can get on the field. 2 hours ago, SCBills said: McDermott’s Defense utilizes alot of undersized, speed/quickness players. Not saying that’s what happened here, but it’s likely a contributing factor to the point you made. That’s exactly the reason and this is why depth is even more important. You almost have to assume a couple big names will be injured come playoff time. It’s so important to not have a massive drop off in talent or you end up like Buffalo when Benford went down against the Chiefs. 4 Quote

JerseyBills Posted Monday at 01:03 AM Posted Monday at 01:03 AM Ppl wanted him cut, this sucks for his development but next man up, feel like Walker n Sanders were ahead of him anyway but still sucks 2 1 Quote

Brand J Posted Monday at 01:42 AM Posted Monday at 01:42 AM The Dewayne Carter pick was supposed to be a double dip with Troy Franklin. Beane didn’t get the memo. 1 Quote
ROCBillsBeliever Posted Monday at 01:44 AM Posted Monday at 01:44 AM Are the Buffalo Bills just seriously not allowed to have defensive interior players? Is that what this is, here? Come the eff on, man... Quote
LABILLBACKER Posted Monday at 01:51 AM Posted Monday at 01:51 AM Just keep Walker and Sanders healthy. They're the future of this DL, not Carter. Quote
