ganesh Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago This has been a tough 5-6 weeks since the Bills went to St. John's Fisher in late July. I am nervous and concerned about this team on what they accomplished in that period and if their goals were met... * Samuel injured for most of this time. Probably has not got the timing down with Allen. *. Shakir down with injury and missed most of camp and pre-season *. No clear #4, #5 or #6 WR. May be Shavers *. Spencer was down most of the time in Rochester * SVP, Alec Anderson both missing serious time along with Tyron Gable...No Continuity on the backup squad *. Bass not able to kick for over 4 weeks * Losing Hairston and then White * No clear #2 Safety...Is it Bishop ? Who knows ? * No clear thoughts on #2 QB. Both Tribusky and White have been underwhelming * Real average to below average pre-season outings. Makes me concerned if this team will get ready for SNF with Baltimore. Eveyrthing falls once again on the shoulders of #17 1 1 2 Quote
NickelCity Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I just try to remind myself that January/February is a long way away. We're spoiled to be able to entertain that thought, but in JA we trust. As far as the Ravens go, I'm somewhat happy we're playing them Week 1. It's such a bizarre and random week that no results can be trusted. And given the info you describe in the OP, I'd rather them week 1 than 2/3/4.... 1 1 Quote
mannc Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago It hasn’t been ideal, but it’s been far from a disaster. Most of the injuries have been to guys who were not expected to start right away, and none of the injuries have been of the season-ending variety. I think the Bills are probably being exceedingly cautious with most of these injured players. I don’t think huge concern is warranted. 2 1 Quote

Captain_Quint Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I think that the trend in recent years is to pretty much treat preseason like practice, especially for the more established teams. So holding people out for 4 weeks due to a hammy doesn't mean that its more severe than usual. Just that they actually have an opportunity to have them sit and heal during practice/preseason. And given the noise this year, I wouldn't really mind a slower start to the year if that meant we were in full stride come January. I think most fans and teams realize this, but you know the NFL and media will squeeze every bit of revenue from the meaningless practice games if they can. So I'm not too worried, except for the Safety position, since it seems that was kind of ignored so far this offseason. Sort of a wait and see situation. Quote
Shortchaz Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago You don’t know what hard times are daddy. Hard times are when the textile workers around this country are out of work, they got 4 or 5 kids and can’t pay their wages, can’t buy their food. Hard times are when the auto workers are out of work and they tell ‘em go home. And hard times are when a man has worked at a job for thirty years, thirty years, and they give him a watch, kick him in the butt and say “hey a computer took your place, daddy”, that’s hard times! That’s hard times! 2 3 1 1 Quote

Jay_Fixit Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I can say with the utmost confidence that nothing that happened during preseason concerns me. At all. I'm more concerned about the amount of wine left in the box on my counter. 2 1 1 Quote
Avisan Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Friendly reminder that the Bills are a very good team that other top teams do not like going up against. We usually win against them in the regular seaaon. 1 Quote
pi2000 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago The starters really didn't play at all in pre-season and, as a result, I'm expecting them to get physically dominated in the first half by Baltimore. Josh will be rusty for a few quarters as well, and that's fine.. just come out of that game healthy and go on a run against inferior opponents leading up to the Chiefs game in Nov. 1 1 Quote
JerseyBills Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Ya , pretty rough , also Benard, Rapp injured.. But some positives- Milano looks phenomenal Keon should take a massive jump in year 2, be a true WR1 Our 2 rookie DTs look like they could be true difference makers in year 1 Bosa looks good! And no injury is season ending, depending on the Tre White news.. 3 minutes ago, Jay_Fixit said: I can say with the utmost confidence that nothing that happened during preseason concerns me. At all. Gregg Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) A loss to the Ravens wouldn't surprise me. They have a strong team and the revenge factor going into this game as the Bills did end their season last year. If the Bills do start 0-1 then they better get a win at MetLife in week 2. The Jets suck but at MetLife in recent seasons they have given the Bills trouble. They have won 2 of the last 3 matchups there. Plus, Allen has had some struggles in that stadium. This board would explode if they started 0-2. Edited 2 hours ago by Gregg Quote
BuffaloBaumer Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I think our defensive line is really going to have to play above expectations in order to give the secondary a little bit of a Headstart. Quote

billsfan89 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Thankfully despite the dings and bruises none of the injuries seem to be season enders other than the SVPG which is more than likely not a season ender. The second pre-season game was woof for various reasons (no starters, flat showing even when backups were playing backups, and the joint practice Friday probably wasn't helpful) but I think coming out with a strong pre-season finale was good for the team mentally. The backups and the few starters that played showed up strong and I think it ends things on a good note. Overall while it has been not an ideal camp/pre-season it is far from a disaster as of now. And with just under 2 weeks before the season starts there's still healing time for these players. Quote

We added more DLinemen between the draft and FA than usual. I expect at least 3 (Sanders, Walker and Hoecht eventually) to have a significant impact during this season, and that’s a good thing. Also, tilt that box and get every drop you can! It can’t hurt. 🤷♂️ Quote
