I could see him getting cut and someone like Hamler in his place.

On another note, people sleep on how Josh lifts up everyone on offense.  In preseason we are watching Elijah Moore with horrendous Mike White and subpar Trubisky.  All these receivers will look better when Allen is throwing them the football.

Cutting Samuel is not possible.  The cap hit is just too much...

Why didn't we just resign Hollins, who had chemistry with Josh and was productive?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say they tried to but got outbid by the Patriots. I don't think Hollins is worth 4-5 million a year.

I refuse to judge Elijah Moore in a game where your 3rd QB and backup O-Line are playing the majority of the game. Also, I don't think Moore and Shavers are competing for the same roster spot. If Shavers makes the team, he's likely the 6th WR, or they cut Samuel... but I think carrying 6 WR is more likely even though they haven't typically done that.

But Moore was included in this choice.  If you’re playing with 2nd and 3rd strings you are considered as 2nd and 3rd string.  Top 4 Coleman Shakir Palmer and Samuel.  Moore has done nothing to leap frog Samuel.  Imo top you dont need special teams ability in the top 4 after that you do.  I have Shavers solid at wr 5. Question do you keep 6?  Instead of Codrington Shenualt or Hamler for return duties.  I dont want Codrington on the roster.  I think Moore is firmly on the bubble.  I havent seen anything that warrants him on the roster over Samuel.  After that he doesnt offer anything to special teams to warrant a role.  Looking at the financials cutting Samuel is pricey.  Moore has not warranted that kind of investment.

I think the receivers they ran out to start the game last night was pretty indicative of the depth chart, and the lack of availability of Samual and Shakir at the moment. They view Moore in the same role as Shakir. The depth chart has Hamler listed behind Coleman and Samual, which is interesting. Moore played the first half and I believe Hamler played the 2nd half.

The reports out of the Bills Bears joint practice was that Moore's connection with Allen was starting to pop and that they connected on some nice chunk plays in 11 on 11s. I think there is more to Moore than what we've seen in our limited view. When Mike White, or even Mitch, is playing QB, I take all WR reps with a grain of salt.

Shavers has had some nice moments. The comeback route last night was a good rep. He had a great release on the go route but then started looking back to the QB causing him to slow down and then wasn't able to catch up to White's throw.

I think they're going to keep 6 at WR this year: Coleman, Palmer, Shakir, Samuel, Moore, and Shavers. If they keep 6 WR, I'm not convinced they'll keep a roster spot just for return duty. Ray Davis has returned kicks. Shakir has returned punts.

So you have decided Coleman and Palmer, before seeing them in a game this year, suck too.  Got it.

Coleman is too slow and Palmer is not a #1 or #2,  Beanne should have just drafted Ladd McConkey who is a 4.3 guy and we could have got him in the second round and not have to pay Palmer this year,  because he replaced Palmer in LA

I think he is a lock.

Watching the all 22 and for the second week in a row he is open and the ball goes elsewhere.  Much like last preseason where I saw coleman winning but the ball wasn't thrown to him by the backups I knew allen would throw to coleman.  I feel the same way with Moore.  He is winning and getting open and either getting no balls or bad ones.

If this was a regular season game and moore is this open on a 3rd down Allen is going to throw a dart here and hit him for a 20+ yard play.

I said it at the time.  Two teams don't move off you in four years if they see a starting caliber NFL WR that was a second round pick.

I think Samuel starts on the PUP and Moore makes it as well as one of the other WR's. I think they like Moore more than we think for some reason. But it certainly is possible.

The optimism about Moore after we signed him got way way out of control. Many people on here thought he was going to have a bigger role than Keon Coleman. Fans acted like because he's never had good QB play that means his entire career up to this point didn't count. It turns out the NFL does a pretty good job of evaluating its own talent. There's a reason a top 35 pick was cut by his original team after just two seasons, his next team showed no interest in bringing him back, and he was still available to be signed after the draft. People have to learn to let their draft crushes go and accept that some players can have all the talent in the world and still never acclimate to the NFL.

Before this game I would have given him a 70% chance of making the roster. Now I'd say just below 50%, and it's only that high because I think they may keep 6 WRs due to Samuel's injury. If the final spot comes down to Moore vs Shavers I don't know how the coaches can look the locker room in the eyes and tell them Moore won that competition. Shavers has played better and he contributes more on special teams. In fact I might put Wilkerson ahead of Moore at this point.

I was one of the believers he was a product of bad QB’s.  I’m sorry as I was wrong.  Normally, I’m pretty good at being even keeled, and late to make judgements, but this was a mistake.  It’s preseason so it was worth a try.  I’ve not believed in Samuel for a long time.  I always assumed they would realize the guy is injury prone.

Is he eligible to start on PUP?  Since hes practiced (don't think he started TC on the PUP either), I dont think he could be on the PUP to start.  He could be a candidate for IR but he started practicing again so I dont know about that either.

Keep Moore. Put Samuel on IR designated to possibly return. That gives Moore 6 weeks to show if he can play. If not cut him and activate a fully healthy Samuel.

Samuel is already practicing.  Moore isnt worth the roster Gymnastics.  Samuel is a larger more dynamic player than Moore.

Shavers & Wilkerson have impressed me more than Samuel & Moore.  And the more I watch Bishop fail, the more sad I get re: we could've used that pick to get BTJ.

Samuel can't impress because he's been hurt.  I agree on Moore, Shavers and Wilkerson.  Even Dean Cain caught a ball.  Of course, if Samuel can't get better, he can't be on the roster.

Moore may be this years MVS. We kept him around at the start of last season for a few weeks to see if he could shine come real games. He didn't, so we acquired Cooper and cut MVS.

I think if Moore makes the initial 53 there's a good shot he doesn't last the whole season unless he steps it up.

Moore playing in this game means his roster spot is not a lock...that coupled with the good game by Shavers is going to make the next couple of days very nerve-wracking for Moore.

Should be interesting how this all works out.

This is not possible. Once a player practices in the PS they are ineligible for the PUP list.  He can go on IR, but he's also not hurt right now so he'd need to hurt himself again before Tuesday or have a serious illness.

Shenault offers nothing. He’s gone
