Cam Ward was most likely going to start, which means this is not a huge deal.  Still, Levis could have gotten into games if Cam stumbled, which would have been awesome.  He plays high event hockey, as it were, and I am always on team chaos when it comes to other franchises.

Teams, generally, don’t want to start the rookie and THEN go back to the other guy. Usually, they’d let the other guy start, and then, pull him in favor of the young guy. If Levis wasn’t going to start week 1, he wasn’t going to be playing at all this year.

If the Bills like Might Wight I'd wonder if the Titans would be interested in trading for Trubisky.  Wentz, Huntley, and maybe Beathard are unsigned so they could go that route too.

Honestly watching him the last couple years here and there...his decision making and freestyle type play reminded me a lot of year 1/2 Josh Allen. Unfortunately for Levis, I don't see the same career progression. I think he's at his ceiling already.

The big question on my mind... which means it should be the big question on everyone's mind... how did this scrub end up in a Hellman's Mayo Commercial?!?! Next thing you know Nate Peterman is gonna be in a commercial...

 

Actually, now that I think about it... Peterman would be the perfect foil for a Snickers commercial... show him in a Bills uniform in training camp throwing lame duck sideline out picks left and right, teammates telling him he's not himself today... give him a Snickers and have him turn into Allen, who starts zipping passes all over the yard... I'm a FREAKIN' genius.

I hope he has a full recovery. Isn't this the guy Tom Brady had anointed as the next big thing a time or two? As much as I hate TB, the guy knows quarterbacking.

 

I wouldn't count his early career against him; a lot of great QBs suck out loud for a couple of years. Maybe he can one day live up to the hype.

Trubisky is so undervalued here. Hes a former top draft pick who needs no reps to be ready to play in a pinch. Hes played a ton and has seen lots of things in the NFL. He is going to be here for 10 years because he's the perfect backup to Josh

 

Also Mike White is awful. Dude is tough as nails but he had 2 good games in 2021. He's right where he should be on the depth chart

I think there is a key difference between Levis and Josh.  If anything, Josh's flaw early on was hyper correction.  He would never make the same mistake twice.  If he got called for grounding when he threw the ball out of bounds down field, he would then avoid throwing out of bounds (even when it would be legal) and throw a pick.  He was constantly learning and working to improve.  Levis, frustratingly, makes the same mistakes over and over.

If I was undervaluing Trubisky than I wouldn't have even suggested a possible trade since the Titans wouldn't want him.

Small point of technical order: you’re conflating regular season misses with training camp perfection…go back and check the tape—NP was a Thursday All-American in camp!! He legit won the starting job Josh’s rookie season featuring AJ McCarron rounding out the QB room that year…not to mention how awesome NP looked during preseason. We were all stunned by what happened when the games counted. But Nate was tossing dimes before that 👀😅.
