In terms of the cap, I think Miami gets the better end of the deal getting out of that contract.  In terms of impact on the field?  I am not sure either team is that much better either way.  Kind of an odd trade in my opinion.

Steelers win in position value.   Dolphins win in not having to pay Ramsey 78 million dollars over the next four years, and get better on the back end of the defense.   Both guys are up there in age so we will see how it plays out.

No one is paying Ramsey over the next 4 years. Thats not how NFL contracts work

I'd rather have Ramsey on the Dolphins than Fitzpatrick.

Josh shreds Ramsey. Fitzpatrick is a very competent player.

Players gotta watch their knees around Fitzpatrick too. Nick Chubb was killing the Steelers in the game Fitzpatrick took his knee out. We’re all still waiting to see if Chubb will be able to even get close to the same player he was.

How much money and high picks do the steelers have in invested in their defense?  How many do they need to make the defense good?

I like the defense first approach to a team but man the steelers take that to the next level.

What does watt think of the steelers picking up a corner who makes that much money when he is in the middle of contract negotiations!

The Dolphins now have zero starting caliber outside CBs.

yea plus wasn't smith one of tua's top targets?

Smith had 88 catches and 8 touchdown's last year.  How do they replace that walking out the door?

I wonder if hill gets moved also before camp.

Extremely odd.

Maybe Minkah wanted contract renegotiation with only 2 years left, but this feels like the Dolphins got better and the Steelers got worse

I agree that Minkah is better than Ramsey- but trading jonnu is puzzling.  He was dam good last season and they don’t have any TE’s worth anything imo.  Maybe they plan on running 11 all year

Damn. Fitzpatrick could have been a missing piece for us. Would have loved to see a 3 way trade here.

No thanks

Agreed.  They don’t have any corners or TE’s

They replaced Holland at least.

Wow. Steelers get the lesser DB IMO, but hey at least they secure their TE2 on a run heavy team...and then give him a one year $12M extension.

Dolphins get back a player they traded years ago and open a huge hole at TE. Smith was really good in that offense last year and a great counter option to the speed of Hill and Waddle.

I think this is the rare trade where BOTH teams lost.

Minkah has been in downward for a couple of years now. Everyone sees it. Combined with a big salary, you know how NFL looks at you then --- Bills fan should know firsthand how the Bills treated Diggs. Miami looks at Ramsey maybe in the same boat though.

Hey Miami.  You want Dane Jackson?
