If he retired tomorrow to pursue another career, I don’t think he gets in. At least, not first ballot. Thankfully he’s got quite a few years left and by that time should have a slam dunk case for first ballot.

Not counting a Super Bowl victory, how much more would Josh have to accomplish to be elected to the Hall of Fame?

With all the records he has set and will, Josh will make the HOF with, I think between two and four more seasons of roughly the same level of play (and stats, though I expect the rushing to drop a bit every year).

No Super Bowl needed. When you have a generational player setting those kinds of records, you don't need a team championship to be recognized there.

He’s actually already in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. There’s a statue/manakin of him in the building with him wearing his full uniform as the reigning League MVP.

Also numerous articles from his most historic games and performances.

Cleats, helmets, jerseys from these games

He’s already a 1st Ballot LOCK for enshrinement

It’s simple.  Keep performing the way he performs, and the gold jacket will be his at some point.  I have no reason to think he will miraculously start getting injured when he’s been the most durable QB in the league since 2018.  He’s missed four games out of 110 or so, amd has 105 consecutive starts.  I’m sick of my friends talking about injuries when he never leaves a game unless it becomes meaningless at the end of a season.

He’s got to at least get to a SB.  No QB since Warren Moon has made it without that criteria

Nah. Rivers is a HoF QB for sure and he never made a SB

Josh is such a unique player. He’s the first player ever to score 40 or more TDs in a season, for 5 consecutive seasons. That’s a level of dominance over half a decade. He’s had a perfect game in the playoffs, one of the best performers in playoff history. He will be the all time passing and rushing TD in Bills history when all is said and done.

Josh Allen is a HOFer. Enjoy the ride

My gosh, it’s like we haven’t gotten over the drought. We can have nice things!

Rivers hasn't made the Hall of Fame and imo likely won't.

First ballot already.

He is the most productive player on a per game basis in NFL history in both the regular and post season.

Edit, I wonder how many here are too young to remember Broadway Joe Namath stretched out in his pose in his stockings.

Right now I think he's in the Andrew Luck territory.

Looks like he will be a sure fire HoFer. As long as he stays healthy and doesn't suddenly retire. Luck couldn't stay healthy and retired...and I think missed out on what would have been a HoF ending to his career. I don't see that happening to Josh

As long as he plays and produces over the next 6-7 seasons he will be in there, Super Bowl or not.

Agreed. But not sure Josh should be compared with Rivers, unless you are just referring to both never gone to super bowls.

Josh already has an MVP and has more playoff wins than Rivers, with some of the best post season stats of all time.

Rivers has the upper edge on regular season passing yards/TDs, no denying that. (Josh also has insane stats though)

I feel like playoff wins and “some of the best playoff stats” end up lost in HoF talk.

keep in mind, I’m not saying this is my criteria but the actual criteria.

Based on the most recent QBs, the thing that matters most is hardware. AP, MVP, SBMVP, ProBowls.

The next is career records, aka TDs, yards, wins, etc etc.

Then everything else.

Rivers has the longevity and very good numbers but lacks hardware. He is one of the very good numbers but never an All Pro, never an MVP, never won his conference.

There’s just such a glut of QBs upcoming.

The QBs in the HoF mix over the next decade are:

Brady

Brees

Ben

Rodgers

Rivers

Ryan

Eli

The first 4 are locks and the next 3 are not. I would be extremely surprised if all 7 are inducted and would not be surprised if Rivers and Ryan are snubbed.

And Josh Allen’s resume today is closer to the latter 3 than the first 4. He would not be a Hall of Famer today if he retired like Mahomes or even Lamar would be. IMO.

He’s already a lock. A prediction I made after he threw an INT in the endzone in his second NFL game vs the Chargers.

Fair. I do think if he played at a similar level for the next 4 years or so, even without extra hardware, that he gets in. The mvp last season really strengthens his case.

Ya Mahomes would for sure- Why do you say Lamar out of curiosity, because of the 2 mvps, all pros etc?

Of that list you have- I have him below Brady, brees and Rodgers for sure. Big Ben is probably slightly ahead of him now, but i think that changes in a couple years

And got Josh ahead over Rivers, Ryan, Eli. JMO
