Man with No Name Posted yesterday at 12:40 AM Posted yesterday at 12:40 AM Pickens is a top of the heap distraction and malcontent. I don't see what getting rid of him has to do with Watt. If Pickens wasn't a distraction, he'd still be with the team. Quote

I talked to him a couple of weeks ago on a few things. He thinks Watt is about to fall off a cliff and if they could get a 2nd, they should jump at it. This was before the draft and I’d imagine he’s even more emboldened. FWIW, you risk it and go after him. Watt & Bosa with Rousseau and Oliver inside as a pass rush package would be crazy I know it’s a big IF….but IF this team had Bosa AND Watt healthy for the playoffs?! We’re winning it all Quote

We’re winning it all I don’t hate it for the Bills. That’s what I was asking about. The problem, from their standpoint, is what do you do with him? You can’t pay him in the range of what Garrett got. He potentially cripples a cap if he’s done or about done. He’s a UFA after this year and will be 31 with lots of injuries. It’s a tricky situation. 1 1 Quote

I can’t imagine Rodgers would be thrilled going there at this point, and if they don’t get him, (not saying he solves anything anyway) what exactly are they doing right now? Would be ironic for an impact DE to come available and it’s not Crosby, Garrett or Hendrickson. And it happens after we go hard on DL in the Draft. I think I’d stay away from this hypothetical though. Not sure how long Watt has left as an elite rusher, he’ll want a new contract and we just invested so heavily on the DL that I don’t even know what that looks like? Epenesa and a pick(s) for Watt + a massive contract for a guy with a potentially limited shelf life? Eh. They traded Pickens only because he is problem player, why would they trade for Metcalf if they are rebuilding?Pickens was looking for top receiver money and they cashed out before having no choice but to pay him Quote

I saw most Steelers games last year and there was a BIG decline in general impact from Watt in games than in seasons prior. I was really surprised at the end of the year that his counting stats had him in contention for DPOY. Then I saw that he had played the most snaps of his career. That's basically why he got 11.5 sacks. 935 snaps. I'm not directly comparing the two as overall players.......but Von Miller had 6 sacks on 279 snaps and Bills fans were not impressed. Watt's stats were STUFFED by lot's of low juice snaps. 4 Quote
Bullfrog Posted yesterday at 01:34 AM Posted yesterday at 01:34 AM T. J Watt and boss together would be great in there prime. But T.J is looking like he is declining at 31. Bosa has also delt with declining numbers but due to injury. Bosa is at least 29. He has a better chance of rebounding if healthy. But let's face it. Their is a chance both are close to being done. Richard Noggin Posted yesterday at 01:41 AM Posted yesterday at 01:41 AM Watts and Bosas get old fast. Maybe something to do with "training" habits/intensity. Or just the way it goes. 1 Quote

Or just the way it goes. Both are extremely good at violent physical play. But eventually your body can't keep up. I never played past high school but I have worked a physical job for 26 years. I was once an essential worker and now I am replaceable. Sad but true. It happens eventually to all of us. I can only hope bosa has enough in the tank to stay healthy and tear it up so he can get that last final deal and the Bills get a SB and a comp pick for going somewhere else. Quote

Epenesa would have to go for Cap reasons anyway. Dawkins would have to be restructured and McGovern extended at a minimum. Yeah, and we'd be right back to the cap situation we were in before last year, where we had to let people go. More of them than Epenesa. Can't see it. We now have $11M under the cap in 2026. After these moves we're probably significantly over in 2026, without even thinking about how to re-sign Watt if we kept him, which we would probably want to do. Fun to think about. 1 hour ago, Man with No Name said: Pickens is a top of the heap distraction and malcontent. I don't see what getting rid of him has to do with Watt. ChronicAndKnuckles Posted yesterday at 02:50 AM Posted yesterday at 02:50 AM Trading TJ Watt would be on par with the Doncic trade as far as stupidity. The most valuable non-QB player. He’s 30, but I can easily see him playing at a high level for another 6 years or more. The only reason the Steelers have been relevant and that Mike Tomlin continues his streak of non-losing. Count on that to break if the Steelers FO does that. Quote
