Different scenario. Those were considered top 10 talent (in McGahee's case, pre-injury) in their years. Ton of guys in their position carry an attitude - I think Amari Cooper was one too. But the guys drafted by Bills in recent years, are towards the bottom of a round, like 30, so you don't know if you are going to make that round. A lot of money at stake. Bottom 1st rounders average something like $13 million 4 year rookie contract. Mid-2nd rounders may get half of that. For people in their position and their agents, every pick going by costs them money.

 

When you look back, if a guy gets a 2nd contract, it looks petty worrying about 1st round vs 2nd round money, but you know what? Even half of the 1st round guys don't make it.

Good watch but not as cool as usual. Previous years showed more insider stuff, this just rehashed stuff (like calls to draftees) that we’ve seen before. How about footage of taking guys out to dinner after their pro-day? How about calls to UDFA so we get a feel on how that works? How about trades that didn’t go through?

But that video! First three picks feel like absolute HOME RUNS when you absorb the positive reactions from the players and the org. Got some tingles watching the video. Darn near best case draft haul for first two days.

No stunt, genuine emotion from Beane - dude has a proven track record, who these 2 radio jocks again?  

 

Bills put this in the embedded, because Beane got ALOT of national media praise for handling like he did, and put these clowns in their place.  Bills gonna support their GM, and how he handled himself - which is why they cut up so many national pundit takes on how good it was handled and we just don't see that competitive side of Beane come out in raw emotion like this much.  

 

Bills aren't about putting out a stunt/show of things- just digging for some explanation, when the most logical and simple one is that Beane is fed up of getting questioned about the WR room- when big picture is about scoring points, not how many TDs do your WRs account for.

I really like these, they give you a small insight on what's going on behind the scenes which is always really cool. The only thing that struck me that Brandon Beane said is that in a deep defensive draft like this he had no problem doubling up on a position. Wasn't last year one of the deepest WR classes? We only came away with Keon Coleman which I thought we should have doubled up on WR, Imagine if we could have drafted Coleman and traded up to get Ladd McKonkey? I think we'd be in a much better spot (I like Bishop but I'd rather have that WR duo right now). Anyways it is what it is that was my only gripe, the rest of the video was awesome, alot of dreams came true for these guys which is always good to see.

This is far more likely and you should know as a master strategist.   Occam's razor.  Simplest explanation is usually the right one.  Beane is a guy that strikes me as having a temper if pushed far enough.  There's no way Jeremy and Joe saw it coming unless they're Oscar caliber actors that we don't know about.

I said in the thread about it that the rant was not exactly a spur of the moment thing so it doesn't seem that surprising that that Beane and the team are running with it.

Two takeaways:

 

1. I love TJ Sanders but the last two times Beane has taken someone in round 2 and then said "we'd have considered them in round 1" were Cody Ford and Boogie Basham..... let's hope third time lucky!

 

2. Can I see some more of Jordan Hancock with his shirt off please? I was a bit down on Bills crushes in 2024. Glad to see Brandon restocking for me 😄.

Al Davis used to threaten to trade Raider players to Buffalo when they acted up.

 

They used to say players and families used to cry when they arrived in Buffalo.  Then they all cried harder when they left Buffalo.

 

Josh is the greatest thing to ever happen to Buffalo. He helped forge the culture.  And he made Buffalo a most desired destination, and worldwide Bills Mafia legion!

For someone like myself who doesn’t really follow College players,   this quick snapshot of their draft choices really makes me believe we drafted some players who will make an impact.

 

I also like how on the weekend, the attire  pretty much turns from Suits to Casual weekend.

You can tell how much the Bills value character and personality when they are making these selections. Sure pure talent is probably more important than character in terms of winning the SB, but it sure makes it easy to root for these kids. I know it’s only an edited snapshot but I think you can tell something from these videos.
