Pass rusher. A huge need not being talked about enough

I wouldn't pick one before day 3.  They've got too many other needs and too much invested already in their top 3 DEs to burn a high pick on a guy who will likely spend much of the season as the #4.  Find one later in the draft to compete for that last roster spot.

I can dream..

No. 28 Byron Murphy

No. 41 from GB Tvondre Sweat

No. 60 Jermaine Burton

No. 88 from GB Maason Smith

No. 128 Devontez Walker

No. 133 Javon Solomon

After that IDC

Outside of Murphy falling to us at 28 and Tez Walker lasting to 128 - in what scenario are you getting a 2nd and a 3rd from GB while maintaining our 1st and 2nd?

100%. If you can't get to mahomes, you can't beat Mahomes. Without a significant upgrade on our front 4, I'm writing off the season as a growing/rebuilding year. It doesn't need to be an edge if we can get the production from DT, but we need to get to the QB with 4 rushers.

Why not just outscore them?

What team has been able to get to Mahomes?

They have used a ridiculous amount of draft capital and cap on the dline since they've been here.....and now it needs to be upgraded?

If they had been that dedicated to building a dominant Oline and getting weapons right from the very start instead of their ceaseless obsession with the dline they would have had better results imo.

Also, if after all that draft and cap spending they're still not good enough that's on them, they are not making the right draft and free agent acquisitions or they are not putting them in an ideal scheme and play call to succeed. Either way, it's time to change their approach.

We've tried that. Even when we play perfect it doesn't work. Against us, Kelce is always open and Mahomes has as much time as he wants when we play him. You can't beat a team that always scores when they need to.

Lots of teams have gotten to Mahomes. He was pressured a lot more than Allen this year. jacksonville, Miami, Buffalo (reg season), LV and NE all had double digit pressures on him. In games where he was sacked 3+ times he went 1-3 and if NE had a QB maybe it's 0-4. The key to beating KC in the playoffs is holding them to 24 points. Something we cant seem to do when it matters. I have no doubt Allen can score 24+ points with the weapons we have. He doesn't get to stop Mahomes himself though.

They've been trying to build this amazing dline to stop Mahomes for 6 years now with plenty of high picks and free agents and it hasnt worked. That's what they've tried.

They've never tried what I was talking about, building a great offensive line. Imagine if they had spent all that cap and draft capital on the offensive line instead, or at least a higher portion of it? A line like that makes everyone on offense better; qb wrs rbs tes all more productive.

Every single year they need another DE.  After all the high picks, free agents etc they still need to find their guy. Maybe they're just not very good at choosing the right player and maybe it's time to try something else.....or let someone else try.

And it’s DE/pass rusher

Rousseau has not exactly lived up to expectations thus far, we lost our best pass rusher in Floyd and we have an aging soon to be cut next year in Von Miller.

While I don’t see it as even a good pass rushing class, it wouldn’t surprise me if we selected one pretty high in the draft given the need for it.

Which would be a huge mistake.

No.  It would require a massive trade up.

I can stomach a pass rushing DT early, because I’ve seen what Chris Jones has done and want that for our team.  This option is far more realistic, imo, than getting a pass rusher when the only upgrades are probably going before the end of the teens.

It is what it is.. we have to hope Von can give us a Floyd level season, but actually show up in big moments.

I could see a move being made post-June when Tre’s 10M becomes free if we still feel it’s a need after monitoring Von’s off-season.

Trading next years 1st for 41 and 88. They have 2 in each rd.

If we are to address it, which I'm not convinced Beane sees it as big of a need as you after re-signing Epenesa, signing Toohill, and with Von coming off a full year and getting a full offseason removed from the ACL, I see it being addressed just as the Floyd signing last year was.

Someone like Jadeveon Clowney, Emmanuel Ogbah, Yannick Ngakoue, Carl Lawson, or Michael Danna (maybe even someone else cut post-Draft) will be looking for a team still when Tre's money comes in. We'll get the best of what's left when musical chairs stops just as we did last year with Leonard Floyd.

This really isn't the Draft for Edge Rusher. Especially where we're picking in Rounds 1 and 2.

Based on his track record, I think Beane always sees DE as a need. I've seen a few mocks giving us DE at #28. There might be good value at that point in the 1st.

I'd be surprised if we don't address in the first 3 rounds
