Colts grant Jonathan Taylor’s request to seek trade

This will be interesting because he wants to get paid, so not only do they need to compensate the Colts, but they will need to pay him and I am guessing he is going to expect $10M+ even though he is coming off injury and won't be playing behind that great OL.

Teams with QBs on rookie deals for 3+ years make sense.

Yeah I agree, that makes the most sense.  But thinking about it, how many of those scenarios are out there who also have the need for a RB?  Off the top of my head, the only team I think it could make some sense for is Bears, but they they just drafted Roschon and have a couple good vets there too that they like.  They didn't show any interest in Dalvin Cook who could have just been signed for cheaper and not cost any draft capital...so doubt they are going to be players for Taylor.

Curious if this could happen.... NOT even talking about here, but was a spit-balling take from Cover2.  Say no teams were willing to trade and give a new contract, is it possible a team could offer to put in writing that they would NOT franchise tag him... just as the next best incentive for him as opposed to a new contract.  Just, we want your services for the year, we cant afford you, but to keep you happy/motivated, you'll get a chance to chase $$ as an Unrestricted next year?

Would just be interesting to see that precedent set, because anytime we see this situation most of the top dawg teams are immediately ruled out because of cap concerns.

Basically, can a team even offer a 'no franchise tag' clause? Has that happened before?

Great player but which teams around the league need running backs so bad they are willing to part with draft capital and commit to a big contract?

He seems like a player that would do well in Baltimore and Washington but I can't imagine they are interested with dobbins as robinson already set as starters.
