Partial also covers a very wide range of damage, from very little to significant, it's not a one size fits all type diagnosis. Want to believe this, but... on the pass before the 70-yard bomb, it sure seemed like whatever he was dealing with had clearly impacted the throw. How about the last pass you saw him throw? One of the best throws of the year by any qb.

It probably goes a little deeper than that, although it IS fair to say that the 2 losses came in the 2 games most egregiously impacted by injuries. Maybe Allen's issues the last 3 quarters are in fact partially injury-related? He's displayed obvious issues with throws to his right, especially when moving to his right...such throws often involve poor/limited mechanics, relying primarily on the elbow-to-wrist action. Didn't Allen hit his hand on a defender a couple games ago, and now he's experienced a UCL/elbow injury? Both times we saw him react emphatically on the field. So maybe he's dinged enough that a combination of sped-up/incomplete mechanics AND diminished lower right arm strength/stability has resulted in skipped and off-target throws to the right half of the field? Its a shame it went threw the arms of <50% catch guy. That pass would have been highlighted for years.

But we also saw stretches last year, like right now, where he seems to just not be on the same page as his quarterback. We've seen what happens when Allen has, and does not have, that 2nd outside weapon.

Steptide
I really hope they don't hold Allen out. If he can play, he needs to play. Keenum isn't winning us any games 1

Yep Davis is not who we thought he was. Beane def has to do something at WR, and McDermott has to stop messing around with McKenzie and make Shakir full time slot receiver. 1 minute ago, Steptide said: I really hope they don't hold Allen out. Slightly torn UCL is manageable and treatable. If Josh needs to rest a game or two, thats alright. It's long season. That's our QB. VaMilBill
Does a slightly torn UCL tear more by throwing? Any doctors on here? I’d prefer to not destroy Josh’s career by playing him now. If he can’t zip the ball or sling it there is no use in risking him and playing him IMO

And I don't think we can win a Superbowl with a compromised Josh Allen. Maybe I am being too defeatist. But to my mind our Superbowl hopes are basically done. Not saying we won't win another game or anything but he probably needs surgery and rest to be at his best and that is not happening until the offseason Edited November 9, 2022 by GunnerBill 2 1

Don’t think that can be a logical suggestion right now.

Basically any inconsistencies in the UCL. Could be something that actually heals while he plays. He will need to keep swelling down but this won't impact much.
