Oliver can play 1T DT but it's a waste of his talents Phillips looks like he should be able to play 1T DT but he's terrible at it. Maine-iac Posted March 16, 2022 Share Posted March 16, 2022 From what I've watched Settle can play 5 if he needed to. I'd love to see a big 4 of Lawson, Jones, Oliver, and Settle. We could definitely mix and match. Seems like a pretty versatile group and finally some interior line guys that can really be disruptive. No offense to Harry but he got out muscled a lot. Rolling with Settle, Jones, Oliver, and Phillips as the 4 DT's would be fine with me. Designate Star a post June 1 cut. To me that gives you one true 1 tech(Jones), one guy that can probably play either(Settle), and two that are inside pass rushers. All four of them are better than Zimmer and H. Oliver and Settle will start - 3T and 1T - and play on passing downs most often IMHO. I think Jones plays more the short yardage and obvious rushing downs at the 1T. If Phillips signs, he likely rotates in to spell Oliver when needed. And both Settle and Phillips are versatile enough to go into either the 3T or 1T if needed at times. But my expectation is that...3T: Oliver and Phillips. 1T: Settle and Jones.
