Bills vs. Jets Tickets Selling as low as $8

Pretty crazy, just checking out the prices for the game on Sunday.  The tickets seem to be selling for super cheap.  You can buy 300 level seats for $8.  $8!!!!!!  Everywhere else seems cheap as well.  Endzone for $50?

Am I missing something?

I guess there are some reasons for this:

Vaccination Mandate

Bad weather

Issues with Canadian border

Lack of interest in Week 18?

Any other thoughts why ticket prices would be so low?

Its a bit surprising considering the Bills could win the AFC East Championship with a victory.

Could this be a sign fans are sick of the crappy winter weather?

People are sick and not going? I mean, you got airlines cancelling flights because crews are sick, here in Ontario we've got hospitals running into staffing issues due to staff sickness, trains being cancelled because of staff sickness... No one in my family had caught this in the last 21 months and then boom half of us went down over the last 2 weeks.

Maybe Jimmy Spags can finally fulfill his lifelong dream of attending a game at that price instead of peering through the restaurant window at the TV from his dumpster...

"I love outdoor football! In the elements, the way it was meant to be played!"

"I've got two Jets game tickets you can have for free."

"Naw, man. It's gonna be freezing!"

(I literally can't give them away.)

It is silly that the Bills have had 4 home games scheduled after December 1 with two after Christmas.  With at least 1 home playoff looming and no threat of any blackouts, staying home and watching on a high definition, big screen TV seems like a great idea to me.

Thats why I think the idea of the retractable roof should have been entertained.  Conditions in the winter games are miserable

It's been like this for as long as I can remember, even the Super Bowl 90's. You couldn't get rid of December tickets, especially for an NFC team. That's why I'm stunned the Pegulas are insisting on an open-air stadium.

You aren't missing anything.  The weather die hards are a minority.  Nobody really wants to sit out in that crap to watch a Jets game.  Even back in the Kelly days the stadium wouldn't sell out.  Not even for the playoffs. The only time they were on TV is because someone like Salvatore would buy up the remaining tickets. Because no one really wants to sit out in that crap.

Probably because they figure the place will be mostly sold out anyway via season tickets, so the no show seats aren’t that big a deal to them.

I got killed this year on season tickets. Heck I can barely give tickets away and I’m in 100 level endzone. I’m even considering not getting playoff tickets because i feel like those won’t sell either

This is why the Bills don’t care if the resale market is soft. They have nearly sold out the entire place with season tickets. They got their money.

How does Pegula not realize this…

I have an off-the-wall theory. The NFL has come around on the whole Bills Mafia thing, and now wants to preserve all the tailgating and half-naked fans in snow storms. It looks good on TV.

It's actually Terry Pegula that doesn't want a dome.  He believes football should be played in the elements.  I read that in an article somewhere.

Bad weather

It's that simple.

It was this way in the 90's when they were winning as well...........and that was WITH blackouts in place to force people to attend if they wanted to see it.

Those tickets you see online only represent a fraction of the available ones too..........most ST holders just give them away or eat em' if they aren't going or don't have a familiar buyer.

The way it works out........the extra season tickets we own get sold in September and October and after that if the weather is inclement it is all give-aways and if we didn't have a great party and food we couldn't even give them away.

Yeah. He watches games from a heated suite, doesn't he.

As I've said before........right now the tickets are priced right enough that our large group of about 6-7 different accounts owns many extra season tickets........about double what we actually use.........and that's fairly common practice among locally based long-time ST holders.

When the cost triples(with seat licensing)...........for the most part, that ends.

So they need a new plan for the next venue.

I know right?!?

Building a stadium with a dome seems like a no-brainer.  The only argument against is that return on the investment might be there.  Although Buffalo *could* host more events during the winter months, in actuality it might only be a few more events each year.  The income from those events would not significant pay off the cost of building the roof.

I think it’s going to be a mistake to spend that much money without a retractable roof - or at least the option of adding one down the line

That's like a half face truth

12 home playoff games at the Ralph in the bills history

How many have not been sold out? 2-3? Jim Kelly wasn't playing in one of them either

The Ralph used to hold 80,000 plus back in the '80s 90s..  place was rocking the majority of the time

Of course they have a plan. The Pegulas are going to be making a substantial investment in the new stadium. They know the current market and know what it will take to sell out the new stadium.

I mean I am old so my memory may be fuzzy but I remember blackout games a lot and also a lot of games that weren't blacked out because they were bought up by businesses.

Yes you are right though.  The stadium did hold a lot more people and it was still rocking even though all the tickets didn't actually sell out.  I was at a lot of them.  Back then I was young and it was a blast.  Today?  Not a chance for me haha.

The Comeback game wasn’t sold

out. Others only sold out when certain businesses bought up the excess tickets.

How many other playoff games did they not sell out was the question?

Cuz it's not a lot

I remember Russell Salvatore buying tickets growing up

He did it maybe once a year, to keep the bills on TV in a December game.. when we usually weren't good... Possibly twice

It was not a four or five time a year thing...

He'd buy 2,000 tickets in the nose bleeds that weren't selling.. not like he bought 15,000 tickets

Sure maybe a thousand tickets in the nosebleed struggle to sell in December..  that doesn't have any reflection on our fan base
