Singer or frontman?  Different things in my book.

No. 1 on either list should be Freddie Mercury, and I'm not that much of a Queen fan.

Can't believe no one has mentioned David Gilmour as a singer yet!

He should also make the list as a guitar player; what a talented guy.

Also, good call on Brad Delp for those who mentioned him.

I'd put him way up high on the list of rock singers.

Huge Gilmour guy.   Like Brian May, he just has unique tone.    Agree on Mercury, didnt put my list in descending order but the guy had it all.

Even if you didn’t put McCartney on there he’d turn up anyway. He’s like dog’s knob that lad.

I swear to God, every British person I've ever spoken to does NOT like McCartney.  That boggles my mind.

After the holiday season and repeated airings of 'Wonderful Christmastime', the parable of the bridgebuilder comes to mind...🤨

One female singer that hasn't been mentioned but belongs in this conversation is Stevie Nicks. She has had one great career with Fleetwood Mac as well as a solo career.

I didn't intentionally mean to be sexist with my list..Ha..but it's so hard to narrow it down to 4 choices but Stevie Nicks as well as Janis Joplin belong in the discussion

It's hard to narrow it down. Its actually impossible to list everybody. I had the same problem when I was trying to pick just 4.
