The NFL is pretty woke these days. Someone must have had it out for Chucky. They dug deep to find this. That said, Chucky was wrong but back when we played I heard and read 10x worse.

not sure how being “woke” has much to do with this. If I denigrated my CEO’s decisions, passed around nude photos of female colleagues, and called the CEO a f——-t, and then he/they found out? Yeah I’d be fired for cause and wokeness had nothing to do with it.

I'm double checking now i thought I read yesterday it was the trainers but now I'm not sure.

TBH I could be wrong, that was how I interpreted something I read

What are the chances that the leak in the NFL head office is Goodell himself?

When you "piss in the bosses' Wheaties", you enable the possibility the boss will push your face into that bowl.

(Translation: that's not the most farfetched suggestion I've heard)

So what are you arguing for here? That because we aren't holding everyone responsible for abhorrent behavior that we shouldn't hold anyone responsible?

No I think we need to continue to educate to eliminate behaviors going forward  and not weaponize groups to attack those they don't like. There is a much bigger issue at play than Jon Gruden. I mean are we really going to go back in time and check out what everyone has ever said and done. Are the writers doing these stories all clean- no way.  I know alot of people who have been educated and improved in recent years and that should be the goal.

The NFL has been examining more than 650,000 emails, including the one sent by the Las Vegas Raiders coach, as part of a recent investigation. Gruden apologized for the comment.

"According to several reports, the NFL had flagged the emails to the Raiders last week. The Wall Street Journal reported on the 2011 email about union head DeMaurice Smith last Friday."

According to the Journal, the league uncovered the email while reviewing 650,000 emails during its investigation into the Washington Football Team's workplace culture.

You understand that no one was witch hunting here. This wasnt found by "reporters". There was an investigation into Snyder and the WFT due to all the ***** they've pulled over the past 20 years, and these emails were part of that League investigation.

I'm sure after seeing what was written about him, Goodell wasnt overly concerned in trying to protect them from leaking. Notice that nothing has leaked about his boss, Snyder, yet tho.

I think Mark Davis and the other NFL owners should turn over their cell phones and email servers for the last 20 years for review so that we can make sure that they are worthy of passing judgement.

I’m definitely NOT one for passing judgement, but I have nothing to hide. I’m FAR from perfect, but I’m not afraid of anything on my phone or email. If you don’t think it you don’t have to hide it.

Oh, so that's how they figured it out. I'll see myself out.

If he resigns, he walks away from all the money remaining. As he should.

That is the only move left at this point if he hopes that someday this can blow over and he may return to a job surrounding the NFL every again.. Plus he's already sitting on 10s of millions of dollars.

Kind of have to think that bailing means that there is possibly worse out there and he wasn’t expecting to win a case for the tens of millions left to be fought over

to those pointing at second chances- the dudes nearly 60 and has just four 10 win seasons. He’s essentially a .500 career coach. If he was fired for performance, ignoring the emails, his second chance is probably just as an espn personality. Now it’s golf and private speaking engagements?

How did these 10 year old emails come to light again?

Did somebody just hang onto them for a decade until Gruden stopped paying their ransom demands or something? It's all so weird to me.

Read the post above yours.   "Investigation into the Washington Football Team's Workplace Culture"

Most businesses of any size archive emails, including received sent and deleted emails, for a loooooong time.

Same. I'm no angel but I dont ever have to worry about stuff like this popping up, or getting in trouble at work for an "innocent comment". It really isnt that difficult if you arent a hateful #######.

You know what's a good way to "eliminate behaviors"? Punitive consequences based on your actions. Nobody is weaponizing anything, cut the victim angle.

He said horrible, indefensible things about large swaths of people. On top of that he directed that hatred towards the commissioner of the organization he works for, and he spread/shared nude images of women without their consent. It's crazy to me that you would even try to say that he should be educated instead of being held responsible because he might have changed his views nebulously at some point.

Yep. You embarrass The Shield at your own peril.
