Almost seems like a setup. No, it wasn't a set-up. The United States was the one paying their paychecks. When Joe announced we were pulling out, they went home. They weren't going to stand out there and get shot at for free. This was a strategic mess on steroids!

Now that we've drawn down so many of our soldiers and abandoned any strategic advantages we have there's no choice but to trust the Taliban. This happened because we didn't evacuate people out before we pulled our ability to ensure it transpired in the most effective and efficient way possible. This happened because instead of doing this over a protracted period of time, we waited until we couldn't possibly do it within the prescribed deadline we set. This happened because we isolated ourselves geographically to one location without the ability to adequately protect ourselves - pretty much putting a bulls eye on the airport for all of the enemies we have in that part of the world. This happened because this Administration doesn't have a f*#@ing clue when it comes to matters such as this.... 1

The move, detailed to POLITICO by three U.S. and congressional officials, was designed to expedite the evacuation of tens of thousands of people from Afghanistan as chaos erupted in Afghanistan’s capital city last week after the Taliban seized control of the country.
