Week 9: Seahawks at Bills

this might be the least concerning game on the schedule. win or lose I want to see Allen have a good game against a really bad defense. take that momentum into the 2nd half of the season.

the chargers/49ers/broncos games are the big ones as we realistically should be winning all 3 games

So far, we have beaten the teams we “should” beat. We have yet to beat one I think we just “could” beat. I’m not overly optimistic, but I’ll remain hopeful. You just never know.....that’s why they play the games! There is not a team in the league I don’t think we could beat if things bounce our way.

Hoping we go back to the form we showed the first quarter of the season!

.

We've beaten 3 teams with winning records.  And before people crap on the fish they've beaten the Rams, crushed the 49's and came within one score of Seattle. Hell, NE had two shots from the 1 yard line to beat Seattle a few weeks ago,

Seattle is a very winnable game.

Please do well, Buffalo.  I live in the Northwest and deal with Seahawks fans daily.

Me too. I had 3 of my Neighbours stop by and give me crap already today and a guy, jokingly, flip me the bird when I went to the grocery store With my Bills cap on. Neat to see all these new football fans though 😉

I love that this game is just a 1:00 PM game and its in Buffalo. Time change was this week...I know Seattle travels well...but I like that.

seattle always has that weird game once a year where wilson plays bad and they just look like out of it, hopefully thats this weekend

Allen also has to step up. 4 weeks of bang average performances from him, he needs to bring his game back to week 1-4 levels.

We should treat this as a game we have nothing to lose

Let Allen get hot early and get into a rhythm

I wish that would happen, but if it's like the Chiefs game, Allen gets in his own head & plays stiff in big games, especially in the beginning.

All the receivers were open with easy throws available, poor passes everywhere. Finally throws a good pass, receiver drops it. Rinse & repeat until we're playing from behind, run game gone, and Allen getting a growing sense to try & dig us out of a whole by himself (which just digs the hole deeper).

If he can come in feeling little loose, we'll be ok. If he's amped up & tight like the Chiefs or Titans games, we'll be in for a long day.

Another important factor is taking advantage of the few stops the defense gets.

***Edit:***

Even if they're getting run all over like in the Chiefs game, they managed several key stops. If that happens again, take advantage of that blessing & keep them off the field for as long as possible!

No quick 3 & outs. Even if we just hold them to a FG, that's a win for this team. Just need the offense to capitalize & keep up.

What was the Cowboys record last year when we beat them on Thanksgiving?  Other than that, I got nothing...

See, here is the dancing goalposts thing.   The Titans obviously were not only a winning team, but a winning playoff team last year who contended for the AFC Championship, with a "push" record (2-2) when we beat them last year.  Same defense, same RB, same OL.  Different QB.  We beat them, but I've learned it doesn't count (despite defense, RB, OL).

The Cowboys were a winning team (6-5) at the point where we beat them.  They finished the year with a top offense (6 on points, 1 on yards) and I think had a top offense when we faced them and beat them, but I've learned it doesn't count because they finished the season 8-8

And so it goes....

Okay, one of our resident stat guys, or info treasure trove guys, please tell me McDermott has at least one or two "signature wins" in his entire 3 year tenure with us...surely we beat one or two teams who finished the season in the top 10 in the standings....

Falcons finished 11-5 back in 2017 when we beat them... other than that I got nothing

2017 Falcons and Chiefs (both 10-6, top 10)

2019 in AFC, Titans and Steelers both top-8, Titans played for AFC championship, Steelers just out of playoffs NFC Cowboys 8-8 ditto - but no one in NFL top 10

NOBODY thinks McClapper has a signature win, yet!

His Record against PLAYOFF TEAMS is...

2017 = 2-4

2018 = 0-7

2019 = 1- 4

2020 =  0-2 ?

TOTAL = 3 - 17 15%

Plus 0-2 in the Playoffs.

We think he is better. In fact, he’s NOT!
All the previous stiffs this Millennium had a record of 24%!

BOTH records are terrible.

McClapper is worse.

Beating stiffs, is not good enough... by far!

BtW, the 2020 Cheatriots are a stiff.

How quickly we all forget the 2018 Minnesota Vikings who did technically win more games than they lost at 8-7-1.
