I agree.  It’s not going to be a normal season, but so far it has been as normal as one could hope.  We need to understand that this virus is highly contagious, we don’t really know how it spreads, and testing positive is not a moral failing.  The good news is that it’s highly likely that all these players who get it will recover quickly.

I've mentioned this in previous discussions.  A one week break at every quarter of the season for all teams needs to be utilized IMO.

Presumably Newton got it from a source outside the team environment.  He could have spread it to others, but it has not shown up yet, but he may not have too.  Stay tuned.

Lucky for the Patriots they play the chiefs and broncos next two weeks. Two games they have very little chance of winning/losing with or without Cam.

 

"No chance" against the Broncos? They have a chance to beat the Broncos with Stidham at QB, IMO. Who will be Denver's QB?

Exactly my first thought. Do they still start releasing positive names with the first positive?  Seems like there have been a number of false positives in the NFL previously.

Fortunately the league isn't stupid enough to forfeit the games a team can't play because of a world wide pandemic. They would be far better to cancel the season for all, than to punish teams for succumbing to some thing they CAN NOT control. A person can do plenty to minimize their chances, but still get infected.

Tuesday night is a little rough.  Only really gives a team a couple of days to prepare for the next game.

He's clearly not saying it's the flu. Don't be obtuse. He's saying that it spreads like the flu, and even though it's more contagious, it's not a certainty that everyone in a 3 block radius will get it.

If this thing starts to spiral out of control with a 2-3 teams being infected and shut down each week but not the majority of teams then I think the thing that makes the most sense to me is to add a couple weeks to the end of the season for make up regular season games. The start of the playoffs would be pushed back 2 or 3 weeks. The ending of the season would be odd because half the teams might end on the originally scheduled date while the other half might have another 1 or 2 games to finish out the season.

 

The other option would be to do a massive postponement like the NBA did and pick games back up early in the year 2021. This would also likely include a shortening of the regular season to like 10 or 12 games. But I would much prefer the first option.

Agree. They should have very strict rules. It can possibly affect other teammates, their families, the entire game, tv deals etc...

 

Me being in the military we can’t even go to restaurants. It may jeopardize the mission. There mission should be to play football. Shoot they all make like $25- 50k a game Minimum. Some are making almost a Million. 
 

I seriously think they should start to consider sequestering players with very strict family visitation rules. But set up living facilities at the team facilities.

This is why listening to Chris Brown this week was incredibly frustrating.  
 

I 100% understand being angry over the Raiders being filmed at a large indoor gathering with no masks and mingling with people, but he was acting like you immediately get COVID if you don’t wear a mask somewhere...and that’s just not how this works.  
 

Hopefully the Pats contained it.  Would be a big boost to the league if the Titans were an anomaly and the Pats/Falcons were able to contain it and play.

I have thought the same thing... Seems ridiculous not to have something built into the schedule.

 

 

Those upset about the Titans getting a bye before facing us (if that game happens) can rest easy knowing that our game against the Chiefs will be their third in 10 days... Seems like TNF will likely not be happening for us.
