Would you trade 2021 1st for 33 today plus(revised)

People go nuts when you give up a future first to get a first round pick, and now you want to suggest doing it for a second round pick?  Let's say that the Bills make it to the AFC championship game, that means that they wouldn't pick until around the 60th pick next year.  No guy who is currently left is worth sitting out the first 60 picks next year

No.

We were in the playoffs this year and we were 22nd.  That's a huge fall from 22 down to the second round.

There were still a good amount of impact players at 22 that we will probably need next year, like LB and Safety.

Don't sacrifice the future.

Move up to select who?  Every year there are trade up or trade down threads that never address the fundamental question of why and for what.

The why is every thought needing its own thread these days.

If you feel the Bills will be a playoff team next year and therefore will draft again in the bottom part of the draft again next year. Would you give up next years 1st to be in the top 5 of today's 2nd round. It would give us one more piece this year and is there really a big difference in the bottom of the 1st and beginning of the 2nd?

Would you mind not making clickbait titles?

I might do it for Fulton.

I have him as a mid first rd pick.  I’m sure he and Tre a boys.  He can play man just fine but will thrive in zone in the nfl imo.

I wouldn’t do it for anyone else.

Short arms but I like him (no trade up though)

It's not a crazy idea, and the value is about right.  You do it if there are guys you really like who are still on the board, you expect to draft late next year, and you aren't sold on the 2021 draft class (believe me, the Bills already have a pretty good idea what the 2021 class is going to look like).  You don't do it if you have any serious doubt that Josh Allen is your franchise QB.

Apart from anything else, we don't know if there will be a season yet.

Isn't that a good reason to want an extra premium pick this year?

Otherwise they wouldn't have a pick in the top 60 in 2021

You need to add one rookie starter every year.

.

OK.  But what's wrong with adding an another starter this year?

No.  Move up with trading some of the latter round picks but keep 2,3 and 4 this year.

How do you think that would work?

He’s not talking about moving up.  I think he’s talking about keeping 54 and buying one of the first 5 picks this afternoon.  That’s a fair trade.

Not really, because the whole premise of 'win now' falls over if there are no games to win.

If you were talking about giving up a next year 1st to go with another 1st to get a generational talent, then fair enough. But for just another 2nd round pick, who might not be ready to go if a season does start - I really don't think so.

We might have a different idea of what a 'premium pick' consists of, because the top of the 2nd round isn't it for me. Top 15 of the First Round, that's a 'premium pick'.
