When the day started Pitt was ahead in conference record, 6-4 while Tennessee was 6-5. So Pitt owned the tiebreaker. Since they lost to the Jesters, Pitt's conference record is now also 6-5, so the tiebreaker now belongs to Tennessee via strength of victory. If you are better than Tannehill you'll have a decent career at least. Worse, your team will be looking for someone else in a couple years. It's almost the worst place to be, because he's good enough to win some games so you don't want to cut ties unless you are sure you have someone better, but he'll never get you a championship. There are dozens and dozens of QBs who "cannot win you a championship" and yet had good careers as NFL QBs And then guys like Dilfer and Foles won SBs and Dalton IS better than them At the end of the day , not everybody is all pro caliber and that doesn't mean you didn't have a successful career Fitz has had a tremendous career and he would be put into the "can't win a championship"..
