Bodine traded to the Patriots for a 6th round pick

Giving Belichick information about our offense isn't worth a 6th rounder. Helping a division rival, especially the Patriots isn't worth a 6th rounder. Making them overpay after we cut him and use more cap space is more valuable than a 6th rounder.

I can't believe we did this. If we cut Bodine and he signs with the Pats then so be it. 6th round pick is not worth the kind of intel he'll give our biggest rival. The last guy I want on that team is the center who's been helping groom our young QB. Very ballsy move by Beane.

Just to check... You'd rather give them said intel (which is probably pretty worthless in the grand scheme) for free, as opposed to exacting a price?

LAMP POST WARNING.

I been posting I think Beane will get a 6th or 7th for Bodine for months.

As for the trade vs a cut.  He is a vet and if the Bills just cut him and the Pats* wanted him he probably would of signed with them anyway.

Way to go Beane.

They record all our practices anyway so what does this matter?

So we are now sending our "roster cuts" to the pats? Now they have our offense and defense. this should be interesting kudos to Beane for getting something outta nothing though. Let the regular season shenanigans commence.

So the Patriots are going to tie him to a chair under a single light bulb and threaten to kill him and his entire family unless he gives them secrets about their own offense? Daboll runs the Patriots offense.

This would work for me if our offense wasn't the same as the Patriots offense....

I would have rather traded Bodine somewhere else or taken the chance he'd sign somewhere else. I guess we must have been convinced he was signing there.

that or we figured that if they wanted info badly enough they'd have signed him, and so instead we made them pay an insanely high price for what they were getting...

I can only think a team like the Pats would give up a 6th because they feel Bodine would be picked up on waivers before they got the opportunity to grab him.

Bodine is a vet and would not need to clear waivers, he would become a FA.
