Bills skyrocket from 26th to 6th in ESPN’s Talent under-25 Talent rankings

Recommended Posts

With so much young talent on the roster, it’s no surprise that the Bills skyrocketed up ESPN+ and Football Outsiders’ NFL under-25 talent roster ranking. After finishing 26th one season ago, Buffalo found themselves at No. 6 in this year’s ranking.

Here is what Scott Spratt of Football Outsiders said about the Bills’ young talent in the ESPN+ article.

2018 ranking: 26

Blue-chip players: Tremaine Edmunds, ILB; Josh Allen, QB; Tre’Davious White, CB; Ed Oliver, DT

Notable graduated players: Matt Milano, OLB; Dion Dawkins, LT; Shaq Lawson, DE; Robert Foster, WR

Nice endorsement from ESPN. I am glad they recognize the patience being exercised by Beane & Company as they build a competitive roster for the long haul. Outside of the obvious mentions of Allen, White, Edmunds and White, we see Dawkins! Good stuff! At least someone is paying attention.

thats the worry with Foster.  It’s not like he’s some young player.  He was 23 his senior year in college and couldn’t really crack the lineup.

I wasn’t worried about it. I was just surprised.

No mention of Levi Wallace?

they mentioned him, or maybe the New York Upstate site did. Idk cuz i dont have ESPN+

But this is a quote from the article:

The GM has also shown a knack for finding contributors after the draft as Levi Wallace and Robert Foster both stood out on the field for the Bills over their final season games last season.

Worried not the right word but I wish he was younger and could chalk up his inconsistency  to age.

It’s why he went undrafted, but if the Bills are able to get any production from him like they did 2nd half of last season after investing nothing in terms of money or draft picks, that’s a win. I don’t care how old he is. Now, his age could come into play when he goes for that next contract.

Not surprised. They say the NFL is a copycat league and that works for the media too. Not many of the 'experts' have the time to thoroughly research every team, so a lot tend to read what other have said and sort of base their opinions on that. Quite a few 'experts' have predicted the Bills to do well this year, and that's beginning to filter down to others now. I think by the time the season kicks off we'll be getting picked as a lot of peoples' surprise team of the year.

It’s behind a paywall (ESPN +) and I personally don’t have the access

Rams were number 1. My guess is the Colts are up there too.

So Browns, Rams, and Colts. Maybe Chiefs and Texans?

ESPN is a dying network.  Who cares what those idiots have to say!

That's what people say every time there's something they don't want to hear about the Bills, might as well be consistent & say it when there's something positive too lol.

In regards to them "dying," they'll be dying for many, many, many more years to come before actually being anywhere close to dead.

I guess this is as goof of a place to put this w/o starting a new thread (since the subject has been broached many times before)

Projections for Bills vary wildly among national media

As the preseason is set to get underway, here are a few takes from national analysts about the Bills:

here is one

a bit of a head scratcher

I don’t see much head scratching there. 3 qb’s with the potential to run for a ton of pts and still pass for more, and 2 pockets guys that very well may light it up.

3/5 ths of  the list is questionable IMHO

Winston?   Lamar?   ..  I disagree with

Murray?   he's a Rookie  and with questionable talents to succeed in the NFL

Lamar and his HC have already stated different" play calling

one said more running and the other less running

Winston has Arians. The dude has been a qb whisperer through his career. Not to mention Evans, Godwin and Howard.

I’m really high on Murray. It’s all about arm AND legs there.

Jackson is Meh for me but I can see the reasoning.

Im in 3 leagues this year and Allen, Murray and Winston are all guys i’ll be targeting late with big upside

from what I heard (speculated) yesterday is that Winston has to prove it this year or he'll lose the #1 spot in TB

It's not about success in the league. It's about scoring fantasy points. Running QB's score more fantasy points, although I have to question Winston being on there because he's more of a pocket passer, but I am guessing they added him because of his new coach.

Oh ya. 100%. If he can’t make it happen with Arians coaching him up then they need to move on.

And I’m not even saying they’ll be a really good team or Winston will remedy all the turnovers. I just think with the coaching, his pass catchers, and lack of run game he’s set up to accumulate a ton of numbers
