i can't read WaPo. are they talking about the House pardoning him or about previous Dem claims that Trump would pardon him? as the discussion in the thread says, i thought the ability to pardon only rested with the executive branch.

With the executive branch, and AOC, since she's the boss now.

Government can investigate anyone for anything, with unlimited resources for as long as it wants to.

They hounded Trump for 2 years on Russia, now it’s going to be 18 months on “obstruction”

This is lawfare paid for with your tax dollars, all done in bad faith.

disgraceful.

This is a Gleeful Gator level of hysterics. If the dems continue with their attempts to bring down Trump at any cost there will be a dramatic price to pay for them politically. They're poking the bear and the bear wants to sleep in for a couple more weeks. It's getting pissed.

Lol, the Dems will get punished for  exposing the corrupt practices of Trump? Sounds more like you guys are waking up to the fact Congress actually will be doing its job of checking a person not fit for office . And its driving you guys crazy!! ha ha ha

The butt hurt being moaned out by Republicans is just dripping with sanctimonious hypocrisy. While still screaming that Whitewater and emailgate are jail worthy, they pull their peckers crying about "unfair" investigations. FU!

Congress has the right and duty of oversight of the Executive branch. The dems approach is not to selectively look into supposed misdeeds but to cast out a very large gill net intended to destroy anything that touches it. It's the throw enoughshit against the wall and see what happens approach. They haven't accepted Trump and are willing to sow discord and do anything to harm our country in order to defang Trump. They actually held the Michael Cohen hearing on the very day Trump was negotiating with North Korea. This would never, ever even been considered in past years. We always bickered and fought but kept it within our borders. Without a doubt the dems allegiance to party and power exceeds their love of country and fair play.

*It's always been a coup.

The real question democrat supporters should ask themselves is why has it always been a coup? What makes this situation different than presidents in the past?

I'm on board with the (more than) theory that it is all about retaining their overt and covert power and they are afraid of the big sump pump that Trump has brought to D.C. Lost in all of the flotsam is the heroic attempts in 2016 and early 2017 by patriots like Mike Flynn and the deep state's evil attempts to discredit any of those that could expose them.

They've. Lost. Their. Minds. Trump has broken them. It's ***** delightful.

1) General Services Administration.  They're dusting off the old "controversies" surrounding the Postal Museum, and the FBI HQ.

2) Wikileaks.  They're requesting documentation from an organization whose sole purpose is to publish secret documents.

It's really pretty amazing comedy... especially because they don't realize how absurd it is to most observers.

The GSA thing makes a certain amount of sense - still relatively absurd, but a "normal" absurdity.

I hope Wikileaks simply says "It's all on our web site.  Go look it up yourself."

It's pretty amazing you guys actually put this ###### into the oval office. It's not amazing at all to anyone with half a brain that this clown is being investigated

Thread.

This theory (that Trump/Sater together worked with the FBI to take down the mob in NYC) is gaining more and more traction. I have yet to be able to confirm it from my contacts at DOJ (though, to be honest, I'm not sure they'd tell me one way or the other on something as sensitive as this) but it would line up a lot of pieces of the puzzle, including why Trump was so trusted by MI from the start, why RR and Trump get along, how Carter Page fits in (he was a Russian FBI informant as well), and how the counterintelligence sting was able to swing its focus onto the corruption inside the DOJ legally.

Definitely an interesting angle.

So Trump had a preexisting relationship with the FBI as an informant?  Pretty sure this eliminates any chance of the FBI being an independent investigative body, and proves Trump interfered with the investigation into Russian collusion.

I hope all of you know, this would all end if Trump would just confess to anything and everything he has been accused of so far, and anything he is sure to be accused of in the future so we can just get this impeachment moving forward>>>>> Onward!!!!!

"You guys"?

For two years you've been screaming Russians put him into the Oval Office? What happened to that narrative?

So what is it? You guys didn't? I'm sure you are only happy for the help from the murderous Putin. We know they helped. We know Trump was working directly with the Russians all through the election. But ya, you guys voted for him

"We know Trump was working directly with the Russians all through the election."

But can't present a single solitary shred of evidence to support this claim. But since "we know it to be true", it must be true.

Again, I thought you were for law and order and the constitution? Funny how that's changed as the Trump/Russia conspiracy/collusion story imploded.

The Mueller Report will show that there was no collusion, conspiracy or cooperation between Trump's campaign and Russia. Gleeful Gator (the putz that laughed at dead U.S. servicemen and an ambassador) is getting butthurt because things aren't working out as he had hoped. I guess when you base your hope on a failed premise one should expect to be a failure, right Gleeful Gator?

We didn't put him into office.

The Russians didn't put him into office.

Hillary put him into office.

I believe the technical term is rat.  As in "that rat is rolling over. He won't last long in Sing Sing."

Do the folks in the hustings really want the members of the majority party in Congress to spend all their time doing f&%#-all investigations?  Why not set up an investigations panel if they must, but let the majority of the time in session concentrate on, Oh I don't know, maybe the work of the people who elected them?

Time one party and/or the other pulled up their big boy pants and went to work.

When has Congress ever been about passing legislation when there were political games afoot (or at any time, really)?

Are you going to be upset if it turns out that the President is NOT a Russian patsy?

Are you actually hoping that he IS a Russian patsy?

Because that would be twisted.

But I’m sure you will just Schiff the focus to obstruction of something or another — or will it be election fraud?

Something, anything has to stick, right?  Smoke.  Fire.  Something, mumble mumble.  Even though nothing has stuck yet. Even though half the country has been searching, searching.  I’ll bet it ends up being money laundering.
