It’s a depth signing. A 1 year low money deal, with no guarantee that he even makes the roster. Definitely not worth getting worked up over in any way...

Don't worry: If the Bills sign any player, ever, for any reason, you can darn sure bet there will be people who find a way to get worked up about it.

Everyone saying he is a good special teams player and we need all the help we can get there. But from what I've seen he seems very underwhelming on Special Teams as well. Makes some stupid plays and penalties. With that being said I don't mind bringing him in to camp for a body that's knows our system. But let's not act like he is some Special Teams ace.

For the fellas that said he's a good ST'er....maybe you should slow down on the beer drinking during the games. This signing did nothing to improve this football team.

NOTTA.

So strange that people like you like to complain about the bottom feeders on the roster all the time.

Yes, Lacey is not an all-pro LB. Thanks for reminding us.

IIRC, he deserves credit for holding his spot on punt return team in 2017, snuffing out a fake punt, the key play in a victory when we needed every win to make the playoffs. So, whether he makes the roster or not, Bills fans should have a small place in their heart for this one key play...see Preston Ridelhuber, David White, etc....

Like I said,if Beane does his job properly over the spring/summer,players like lacey won't be on this football team.6-10 is in the past. When a franchise has over 80 million in savings...you don't re-sign players like him..the same can be said about Pitts.

It's pretty clear that you have no idea what you are talking about. Tons of players will get signed throughout the league to bring rosters up to 90 men. Having some depth guys who know the system already and who contribute on special teams, and who you are comfortable with, is valuable.

And by the way, many Bills free agents that we don't sign will get signed up by other teams. Guys like Lacey and Pitts, who have real playing experience, would get signed by other teams.

Does this kill any chance of comp picks?

Not on its own, but I would be shocked if the Bills ended up with any comp picks in 2020. They won’t be losing any FAs who will sign big contracts in 2019 and likely will be signing enough themselves that there won’t be a net loss.

Yeah we're gonna be buyers this off-season. Was saying it more as a joke, I need to work on my nonverbal cues

Fine, but don't say he played well on ST's last year because he didn't.He was as good as Pitts and Foster after he took over Holmes right side gunner spot...they sucked.

Are you here to talk football?
