Please...it’s fine to not want Hunt because of his misconduct, but don’t pretend he’s not a great talent.  He’s probably the best back in the league.  Coleman and Yeldon are fine, but the don’t equal Hunt.

Hunt is a suspension liability that will eventually demand a huge contract.

Well, if Hunt eventually demands a big contract, it’s because he’s played really well...not a bad problem to have.  He is exactly the kind of back JA needs to help his development.  And he’s available without giving up any assets.

Big contract + suspension risk. Would rather us approach RB by committee.

Nothing to prevent them from signing Hunt (who won’t cost much in 2019) and another guy, or draft a guy in the 4th or 5th.

Chiefs owner: We were shocked by video of Hunt

Kansas City Chiefs chairman and CEO Clark Hunt said the decision to release Kareem Hunt last month was in the best interests of the franchise and the running back.

"It was a collective decision," said Clark Hunt while speaking to reporters after Sunday's game. "Everyone was on board with it. I don't think we were necessarily trying to make a statement, we just felt that the best thing for the Kansas City Chiefs moving forward was for us to part ways with Kareem.

"We were obviously shocked by the video, I think like anybody who saw it, and we had some issues with Kareem not being truthful about what had happened that night. We just really felt for everybody's best interest, we needed to head in a different direction."

Kareem Hunt was released by the Chiefs on Nov. 30 hours after a video surfaced showing him pushing and kicking a woman during an altercation at a Cleveland hotel in February. He also was placed on the NFL Reserve/Commissioner Exempt List. Currently a free agent, Hunt's placement on the Commissioner Exempt List bars him from playing if he were to be signed by a team.

How would they know without the tape?

this whole page is filled with people blindly ignoring the fact that a tabloid bought the tape....

I guess they love ignoring facts in life....

i said they could "reasonably conclude" he downplayed the incident, but without the tape, he doesn't get cut. As in they probably didn't WANT to know the full truth.

For the fifth time, do you want the NFL and its teams to buy tabloid evidence for $200,000?

I don't think you understand, but I'll try to clarify. I am not commenting one way or another on the NFL's actions. I'm stating a simple fact; without the tape, he doesn't get cut. It seems like an unfair consequence of our new world where damn near everything is recorded. Not absolving him of blame, but I guarantee guys in the league have done much worse behind closed doors.

I heard Oliver Luck on the radio this morning.  He is the new commissioner of the XFL.  He would be a complete upgrade over Goodell because he’s not a complete moron.

Has any commissioner been as bad as he has?  But he makes the nfl money!!!

Goodell has been fine.

Thanks for the news flash Lois Lane.   But can't really get on board with the 'it's unfair to women beaters if other women beaters get away with it' conclusion.

If you want to know the truth, I wasn't outraged by the actual video.

It was an inappropriate response, but that woman was out of control and he didn't use excessive force.

My point is that MUCH WORSE happens behind closed doors.

When  would you sign him? He is going to be on the exemption list for quite a while and then will still need to serve a suspension. I dont see how McBeene can talk about culture and family while signing a guy who kicked a girl while she was on the ground. I have a hard time seeing Kim hand this guy a contract.

you are right that much worse has prob happened behind closed doors. That doesnt make it ok it just means they didnt get caught. I think Hunt is a POS. He didnt have to come to the lobby to be confrontational, he could have stayed behind closed doors. If a cop was standing in the lobby, would he still have kicked her? No because it is wrong. NFL players sign a contract that limits what they can and cant do. They are held to a higher standard. If they dont like it, they dont have to sign the contract.

I agree and I would never say his actions were correct or even legally acceptable. There should have been some kind of arrest made. It just didn't appear egregious to my eye if we're grading these things.

If any team were to get away with signing him, it would be the Bills, given how visible/involved Kim has been.

Not saying the Bills will sign him; just saying they should.  I guarantee there are plenty of guys playing in the league who’ve done much worse things to women.  As I understand it, Hunt is facing zero criminal charges from this incident. Zero.

There were no charges but I read that the Police did not see the video at that time. Does this change anything? Who knows.

If they didn’t see the video, then they didn’t do much of an investigation.

The disturbing part, to me, is that he had to be restrained by his crew from attacking a woman.  It begs the question of what would've happened had they not restrained him?

I'm probably not the most objective person for the subject because I'm pretty much ALWAYS willing to give people another chance. I'm a bleeding heart that way. I would say it would have been worse had he not been restrained and more disturbing is that this incident doesn't seem to be an isolated one.

I don't know. I'd give him another shot which is why I'm not in a position of authority.

Of course.  There are about a billions things I care about more than what happens at 3am between dumb, trashy, drunk people I don't know.

But I don't understand all the hysterical NFL bashing.  What are they supposed to do?  Obviously they'd rather not suspend their star players.  Obviously they don't have a choice once video appears.  And obviously they can't publically say "We don't care if our players beat women because so do plumbers, cops and stock brokers and you never see those guys fired for doing that."
