The campaign for new Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who has made helping the working class and poor her top priority, was fined by the state for not carrying workers’ compensation coverage for a month last year.

“The employer did not have the required workers’ compensation coverage from March 31, 2018, to April 30, 2018, and was issued a final penalty of $1,500, which was paid,” state Workers Compensation Board spokeswoman Melissa Stewart said. “This coverage is vital to ensuring workers are protected for on-the-job injuries.”

I have little doubt that this is due to stupidity rather than malfeasance.  You think a dingbat bartender and her minions who believe the government is the source of any and all protections for the citizens can understand that THEY need to provide for employees?

Democratic Socialist does not = Democrat.

If only people had warned them...

From the article:  “There’s a difference between being an activist and a lawmaker in Congress.”

No, there isn't.  There used to be, but not anymore.

The truth is, it was probably even less about stupidity and more about a human paperwork error. The amount of paperwork I need to provide each year for CA is embarrassing. But miss one piece of paper and the audit goes into a tailspin (at least with companies who handle our audits).

The far right needs to lay off AOC for this stupid nickle/dime stuff. Like the left picking on everything Trump does, it doesn't have the effect they think it does.

Although this kind of stuff is very funny.

I'd love to see the look on her face when they primary her in 2020.

Idk, she is like an anti-Trump. They are two of my favorite politicians.

She'll be the next President, and the white males are afraid.

Also, Dizzy was such a perfect woman.

Must have sucked being Denise Richards in that flick. Dizzy was everything AND a shower scene.

My favorite was her making the argument that no one should have to pay tuition to attend The Electoral College.

Yes, we're clearly all terrified of an intellectually deficient bartender who is pissing off her own caucus.

She isn't going to be a two term congresscritter.

right. Dems would just assume hand it off to the Repubs rather than have to deal with that kind of stupid for any longer than they have to.

Nah, they'll just put someone up to outspend and primary her. That district isn't going GOP.

The only reason she won the extremely low-turnout primary is because the other guy assumed he would win, and didn't bother to try.

I love how people just assume the dems will squash her. Do you think it is all against one?

There was this republican guy they said that about.

You guys really underestimate the power of social media, still. I don't get it. She was an IG girl, just like all these other ladies are doing. It is real enough for some of you neocons to put an hour of research into. It may prove enlightening.

Personally speaking, I'm not afraid of AOC. She's long on cute and short on substance. If I'm worried about anything where she is concerned, it's that the right will keep prodding her with stupid stuff, which would lead to her ascension with the left.

If you want her to go away, ignore her stupid stuff and hit her on policy. The left should do this with Trump, but the left is far less disciplined than the right, and the people filling their Depends every time Trump tweets something are out of control.

I don't know. Why don't we ask 2016 Democratic Presidential Candidate Bernie Sanders. Try not to use the word "superdelegates," though. It triggers him.

No I think you don't understand the power of social media.  It's ***** brutal.  So say something intelligent?  Crickets.  You say something stupid it goes viral.  I say give her all the social media attention she can handle.

You do understand that she can't actually run in 2020, right?

However, if she wants to run to succeed Trump in 2024, I'm ok with that.

Well, once the Electoral College is shuttered, they’ll likely do away with the ageist discrimination language in the Constitution too. Everyone under the age of sixteen years old... is now sixteen years old. And everyone will be required to change their underwear every three hours.

Millennial tweets like a millennial.  The horror.  What's next...she dances?

Really, the only fault I find with this tweet is that she's not nearly as good a troll as Trump.  But let's give her 40 more years' experience at being an arrogant dumbass before we make that comparison.
