Bronco's cut Chad Kelly

Recommended Posts

Let him go to Canada for a couple of years and show he can be mature and then we can talk. My guess is he screws up again and ends up in jail and then gets a job with Ryan Leaf talking to high school kids about how not to screw up your life like I did

Jim Kelly and the rest of his family have been trying to get through to Chad for YEARS and it hasn’t worked. I don’t see why it would be any different now if he came to buffalo.... The kid has been in trouble everywhere he goes, and especially in buffalo.

Jim even had to vouch for Chad on draft night. John Elway called Jim before drafting him. Once again, Chad didn’t live up to his word.

Buffalo isn’t bringing him in anyway so it’s not even worth thinking about.

Git'r done Beane!!

Seriously, I get that Chad is a mess. And at one time I thought Buffalo would be the worst place for him to play.

But now I'm wondering if Jim Kelly could take him in, have Chad live under his roof, and be the tough love giver Chad needs?

Dude - JK has his own set of issues to deal with in life, like cancer?  Last thing he needs is some disaffected millennial in his house who needs baby sitting.

Usually Buffalo is a place where troubled players can get a reprieve, away from the big city lights.  Chad is the rare occurrence where Buffalo is likely to be the most problematic location for him.  I would expect him to have more troubles here than anywhere else.  I would love for a stable Chad Kelly to be on the team, not an entering random homes frightening infant holding moms Chad Kelly.

Hasn’t had a chance in regular season action and looked sharp in preseason. I would bring him in. There is absolutely zero chance he is worse than Peterman and he probably isn’t any worse than Anderson either.

The kid is VERY immature!  Had similar probs. in college.  I don't think "the process" has a section for babysitting.

Having said that, we need QB help badly!

Where's a more appropriate place to find an inebriated 'Kelly' in the wee hours of the morning than a couch in South Buffalo?!  Odds are the residents probably ARE Kellys!

Under the right circumstances it might make sense for the Bills to take a chance with Chad Kelly.  To me that would be to see him 'man up' and sincerely apologize to his former teammates and the homeowner about his actions and behavior.  And admitting he has some sort of behavioral or substance abuse problem while agreeing to seek treatment.  It's not too late for him to get his off the field act together, focus on football, and keep his nose out of trouble but for that to happen he's got to want to do something about his lack of maturity and off the field problems.  But from what I know that didn't happen in previous incidents.  I don't know what we can expect Jim Kelly to do.  He can give advice and guidance but you can't expect him to watch his nephew 24/7.

McD and the religious environment at the Buffalo Bills might be exactly what young Chad needs..

.

Worship of an imaginary friend doesn’t translate into wins. McBeane will have to learn that lesson fast. It’s weird that it’s so important to them, which translates into clouded judgement.

Surrounding the locker room with talent, work ethic, intelligence and a will to dig deeper to win does.

Kelly is a punk, and one look into his eyes tells the story....something is mentally wrong..

Not the kind of kid that makes a good building block, and this team doesn’t need that kind of baggage.

Delivering pizzas may be the right career choice for Kelly.

The right circumstances simply don't exist. Kelly is done. He's had the same self-serving, lawyer-written, and insincere "mea culpas" at EVERY level he's played at.

And unless uncle Jim is a psychiatrist that can prescribe meds and provide the needed psychological therapy, there is not much he can do.

Hope the kid gets the help he needs and I was glad to see Elway say the Broncos would help in that regard. But he's done in the NFL.
