Some may say "What's fair value?", in this case that's out the window, they called us, not the other way around. Shady is our best player on offense, if you want him, we want slightly more than market value.

I’ll be willing to bet a majority of Backs wont go over 10,000 rushing yards because teams are MOVING TO MODERN OFFENSES. 

 

What does a feature back do now??  Run for 70 catch another 30-50. 

 

So get that value and move to a Modern Offense

Agree, but we should not be looking for a stop-gap plug and play workaround for this season.

 

All thoughts should be on building a foundation for the future.

If you get your Price you move him because of Age, Off Field Stuff and by the time you are really good he is not on the team anyway. 

That is true - David Johnson and Tevin Coleman were thirds. But I just went through 5 years of 3rd round picks, and the number of backs who were either marginal players or flameouts DWARFS the number of backs who produced.

  If you do set a price as far as offering to accept a 2nd and 3rd you put an expiration time on that and preferably by the close of business today.  Tomorrow is a new day and new terms.

He was either asked to take an active role in helping Allen adapt to the pros or he took it on himself - either way if you’ve paid attention he’s been focused on his development even in the game he missed while he was hurt. He was on the sideline with a tablet talking to him. He has been vocal about working with Allen and how much he believes in him. Whether you see that as valuable to Allen’s future (and thereby the team’s future) or not, the Bills may think it’s worth more than a 3rd rd pick especially coupled with what he can do to help Allen on the field.

I bet all of them play in offenses with tons of skill position players...much easier to shine when they are the 3rd option instead of the first.

 

Cooper Kupp has Woods, Gurley and Cooks in front of him for instance.

There are also about ten Dri Archers and Tre Masons for every Hunt and Kamara.

good post. And, last I checked, he has 27 games remaining, at least according to his contract.

i do think the players on the team believe they can make it.
