An extremely dominate D can win Super Bowls.  Ravens have done it, Tampa did with Trent Dilfer as QB, Steelers nearly made the super bowl Big Ben's rookie year on the back of their D.

Big Ben is probably going to the HOF.

When Baltimore did it, Flacco was playing on a level way higher than Tyrod is capable of playing at.

I'll give you Trent Dilfer, but the odds of winning a Superbowl via the "great defense" route are slim.

Mack doesn't change this team's win/loss column enough to justify the cost.

I’d give up a 1st and a cheap Shaq Lawson, and pay him top DE money.  They can find a way to make the contract work.  How would you like a Broncos of a few years ago when yes, Manning is absolutely a hero, but his last year was terrible and so was Osweiler (forgot spelling).  They won with a tremendous defense as was mentioned in Tampa.  I followed every game that year and they were avg at best or worse on offense.  Their defense was amazing.  With Mack we will crush a ton of teams.

Id even be willing we split the Pats.  He’s a proven commodity.  1st round picks are still a gamble as how many have not worked out with good Mgmt.  Mack will crush it in Buffalo, and he loves Buffalo.  I agree stroke Chucky’s ego as I actually coached against him twice in flag football when his and my boys were ofthat age.  BTW- shameless plug but we split with him.  He was a very gracious person.

besides, Chucky wants more offensive weapons and would take Lawson to replace Mack.

If I were the Bills, I would offer my 1 and other stuff to try and get Mack.  He is not averse to cold weather, he likes Buffalo, and he is a proven great player, AND you have the cap room for it.  IF you can get him, you do it.  That said, the Packers are in win now mode, and they are the only team as of right now with 2 1st round picks in the 2019 draft.  They may be inclined to offer up both of those for Mack...(I'd do it)

You are crazy if you think the packers would consider for one second trading 2 firsts for a defensive player who’ll be looking for a huge contract.  The Raiders will be lucky to get one first for Mack.  Sure, they might want more, but they won’t get it.

They absolutely should offer a first, but not this coming years first. Jerry Hughes and a first in the following years draft plus some sort of throw in.

Other than being a few years younger, I’m not sure Mack is that much better than Hughes.

Has anyone ever traded two first round picks for an NFL player?

Obviously it happens during the draft, I just don’t remember a team getting a haul like that for a guy already in the league.

It does not happen for non-QBs—only in TSW fantasyland.

Would you be OK with the Bills trading a first round pick and then signing him to a big extension considering our pick will be top 10 next year most likely?

We Won’t be picking top 10 with the Defense we will have...I’d do it in a blink!

Are those as good as they look?

Better, even. Depends on where you go though. Like our brothers and sisters in Buffalo often say about Anchor Bar, just because Tahou’s is where they originated doesn’t mean it’s necessarily the best plate.

Interesting thread. The real question is if not what position would the Bills use that First Round pick on next year. QB...no.  LT...no. DL...no.  DB...no.  Please don’t tell me we’re using it to pick a WR!  So I guess that leaves a Guard?  Considering all of that, I guess I’d make the trade.
