If You Could Play in the NFL, What Would.........

Recommended Posts

1. Wide receiver

2.  I would like it to be Bob Chandler but since he's deceased I'll go with a guy from the same era with a similar game in Fred Belitnikoff.

3. Kelly

4. 81- Chandler's number

A random thought/fantasy to have a little fun with.  Lets say that today, you're a young athlete at the peak of your physical strength.

1. Choose your position you would like to play in the NFL.

2. Now, pick a player or players from the past in the NFL  or AFL to be your mentor at that position and explain why.

3. And when your practice session is over, what player from the past would you like have join you as you go out afterwards to party.

For me:

 1. Slot receiver,

2.  Andra Reed, with a little bit of Ernie Warlick (yes, I know Warlick was a TE, but he was very effective over the middle.)

3.Joe Namath, Paul McGuire

Talk about fantasy football!

IDK, that's a lot of pressure. I'd feel more comfortable at QB. I think I'd be pretty good at holding a clipboard.

But, they can't even get trucked anymore. Snap the ball, run a few steps downfield and pretend you're interested in tackling the punt catcher.

Long snapper. Nothing else makes sense for an armchair type.

Somewhere, Adam Lingner says THANKS!

Side note, his wife once sat in every seat in the stadium to raise money for charity.

1.  QB

2.  Van Pelt - because I don't want to play; I just want to get paid.

3.  Ryan Fitzpatrick - I just love the guy.  Funny as hell.  Seems like a great guy to sit around and drink beers with.

I was thinking of a similar response, but you pretty much nailed it.

I know what you mean about "trying to be in shape." It gets harder & harder to try to keep up the regimen.

Ahh, and why Namath?  I put him down for his Hollywood connection back in the day. I went through High School in the 60's, even though I was a Bills fan, I thought

that guy was God. I even painted by baseball spikes white in my senior year.

Here’s why Namath.

17.  Never forget.

I'm sorry, I'm drawing a blank on 17. Keven Everett's number? That Bill that's on the Wall of Fame for dying in 'Nam? Get me up to speed, please.

O Line. If I were a QB or RB, I'd love to have you in front of me.  Where would you want to play?

On 'Dialing for Dollars' as soon as you get out of that ridiculous robot costume, and pick up your accordion.  Granted, you did look better after the extreme makeover.

Ah yes Conrad Dobler, Mr Clean himself. I'm sure he still has a few tricks and whip leg techniques he could show you.

Well, I'm 5'9 and 210 pounds. If I'm going to survive the trenches...i better have a few tricks and tactics at the ready.

Actually, the '17' on a jersey with 'NEVER AGAIN' as the name plate seems appropriate.  Never again a playoff drought that long, OR never again on a draft choice from a relatively small western school.
