If both Peterman and Taylor are cleared to play Sunday

Recommended Posts

I want Peterman.  His two passes to Benjamin on the scoring drive before half were the best passes from a Buffalo QB in some time.  He actually knows how to use the weapons we have.  However, I think they will go with Tyrod.  Who knows really?  Difficult call for sure

Tough to do as much as he did in that weather and only 10 passes.  He had a better game than Tyrod did against New England.  That being said, I'd say it's up in the air

I didn't hate Peterman last week. But the coaching staff sounds like they actually want Tyrod to start now.

Pretty strange how they were so eager to bench him earlier in the year, and although Tyrod hasn't done much in games since then to hands down win the job, the opinions have been reversed. I guess the staff just sees more in practices than we do (duh!).

Realistically, I think Peterman stays in the concussion protocol most of the week, which will prevent a rookie from being able to adequately prepare for a game like this.  Just a question, when in concussion protocol players can't do anything, right??  They can't participate in meetings or anything??

I could see it go either way.   It's a tough decision for McD, but that's what they are there for to make the tough decisions.

Tyrod will protect the ball better and make more plays with his legs.   Peterman is more prone to make mistakes.   However Peterman will make more throws than Tyrod.

I'm guessing Tyrod probably gives you a little better chance to win if the defense plays well.

Yep. I'm not so sure it's a given if Tyrod is 100% next week. And Peterman's concussion looked really bad as far as that goes. I'm hoping they both get enough snaps early for a proper evaluation.

You’d have to assume it will be Tyrod

If both are ready to play IMO you go with who will be here next season. The Tyrod era should be over. To assume Tyrod is to assume a loss and 54 yard game by a QB playing to pad stats and stay healthy for his next team. Even at home I do not see this team winning against Miami let alone a away game in NE with Tyrod. IMO keep Peterman playing if he is healthy to do so.

I want Peterman 100%. But answering who McD chooses, it's Tyrod if healthy. That's all I'm saying.

noooooooooo you go with your best chance to win //head banging wall//. I'm not saying that that's Tyrod, but the coaching staff just shouldn't be thinking that way. This isn't about anybody's "era", this is about playoffs/

If we are still really trying to make a push for the playoffs this year, I say Tyrod.  If we are reserved to the idea that making the playoffs this year is not goal #1 then I can understand putting in Peterman the rest of the way to see what we really have with him.

IMO Tyrod does not help the chances in fact it limits it since Timid Tyrod does not throw. Best chance to win is to have a QB who throws. Talk about head banging wall, Tyrod does not make this offense better.

I disagree....when taking the totality of circumstances into effect, Peterman played admirably - although also stupidly when it comes to sliding - and showed a little life when it truly mattered.

Tyrod probably gets the start because the playoffs are still on the line, but IMHO Peterman showed at least enough to give him another start.

I wish I could agree. I personally never want to see Tyrod play for us ever again. But I remain objective. Unfortunately the crazy weather and the injury took away from Peterman securing the job without question. So...with Tyrod being a game time decision, he must have been close to ready. He gets the start this week, even if Peterman is cleared.

hoping to not see taylor, they need this game and taylor has sucked as of late but unfortunately peterman probably wont be cleared and they likely lose the game due to taylors incompetence under center.

to answer the OP though, if both are cleared they need to start the kid. hell he had a better game up until being knocked out in a blizzard then taylor had the last two home games in good weather.

McDermott after the Saints game: Tyrod is our starting QB.

Following Tuesday - I've decided to start Nate Peterman.

I hear ya, but you have to take things in context. First one was right after the game. The most recent "Tyrod is our starter" came later in the week. Post-tape McD is the word to trust and this past week didn't deem a change of mind.

He was saying for that week though. I don’t think that was a universal statement for the rest of the year. Just a week to week thing. And now Petermans last start was certainly a different feeling then @ LA. Plus looking at some charger games since that day, it seems less pathetic.

I think McDermott starts Taylor if he's healthy.  But wouldn't be overly shocked if he goes with Nate.

If Taylor is healthy, start Taylor but have him on a short leash.

He's been awful in his last 2 home games and if it starts to look like the offense again is doing nothing....I would get Peterman warming up in the bullpen. (If he's healthy).

Short leash? Come on man. Miami's D is going to eat Timid Tyrod for breakfest, this is another Jets game in the waiting. If Tyrod starts expect a big loss IMO.

I actually dont agree with that

Before Peterman got hurt he was hitting receivers right in the hands and they were dropping them.....when Kelvin Benjamin caught that pass for a touchdown you could feel that the bills were about to pull away from the thing.

The rook needs to learn to protect himself...but his play was light years ahead of his first start.

Not based on the last time Tyrod played Miami.....I really do not care who starts at this point because Peterman showed some good stuff but this revisionist history because of  your hate is putrid

I won't argue he made a couple throws Tyrod won't even try, but overall, it wasn't a job stealing performance. Hope I'm wrong!!!
