Moreover, Hilton (we’re told) won’t be inclined to renegotiate a contract that pays him a salary of$8 million this year, $11 million next year, and $13 million in 2019 Now this is a player that is actually worth the money. He's one of the top 10 WR's in the league, he has the production to match that and he has great speed. I wonder if he fits the mold of player character wise that McD/Beane are looking for. Our receivers get open enough, and we've shown that even with Sammy we aren't a slinging type of team. He's finished the last 4 seasons with ~ 1200 yards and 6 TDs. Do you think you can acquire the guy for a ham sandwich or something? They're not going to get rid of him for a low pick. The offense is doing just fine now, the team has scored 30 points the last two games. Am I missing something? We don't need top flight wide outs with big salaries for the type of offense we run which has been productive and improving as the season goes on.
