HumbleAndHungry
In an NFL draft that is deep with running back and cornerback talent, this trade might make sense for both parties. Seattle may not get the value they are looking for with a Sherman trade with such a deep draft class. Mccoy is 28 years old and still posting big time numbers in the running game. He is under contract until 2019 with a base salary of roughly 6 million and a cap number of around 9 million per year. Sherman (also 28 years old) is under contract until 2018 with a base guaranteed salary of roughly 11 million and cap hit of 13 million. As part of the trade, perhaps Sherman would need to agree to an extension. Although McCoy would be a significant loss, I think Gillislee would be capable behind our pretty solid O line. This is a draft deep with running back talent so a rb could be drafted in the later rounds to compliment gillislee (Someone like Marlon Mack or Samaje Perine). Seattle recently signed Eddy Lacy, but McCoy would be a deadly weapon in the seattle offense especially with his ability to catch the ball. The acquisition of Sherman would solidify our secondary and add some much needed grittiness to our defense. vincec
I'd do it, but that kind of blockbuster 1v1 deal is very rare. Also, I don't think CB play is important enough in McDermott's defense to value or fully take advantage of a guy like Sherman.

White Linen
Will everyone stop wanting to trade one of our most important players and more importantly one of the main reasons the team can attempt to absorb Tyrod's shortcomings.

bigK14094
No based on hard skill sets. Also, no based on the intangibles...Sherman a loud mouthed bad actor, McCoy a professional in all ways, at least in his stay in Buffalo. NO NO and NO!!! Fan in Chicago
Seattle recently signed Eddy Lacy, but McCoy would be a deadly weapon in the seattle offense especially with his ability to catch the ball. The acquisition of Sherman would solidify our secondary and add some much needed grittiness to our defense. Let me help re-structure your question. While the thought of trading McCoy sounds outlandish, the concept of a player-for-player trade or a Player+pick = Sherman may not be a bad discussion to have. What would the Bills give up to bring an aggressive DB into the fold ? Against Brady (with Cooks) on the other side, an strong secondary would be a good strategy. What other chips are we willing to use to sweeten the pot ? Wood ? Clay ? In any case, this discussion should be merged in the larger Sherman thread.
