I'm a fan, but I don't blindly believe they will be great just because I'm a fan. I also don't bash them as much when bad as many here do. Even the local writers on BN, D&C, Syracuse, Athletic didn't predict more than think around 11 wins from what I recall. But yet to the fanatics here like yourself, again what do they know. You certainly know more!

No few realistically is correct as few polls by unbiased people predicted the Bills to win more than 10 games. I just looked at about 5 or 6 polls from ESPN, CBS, USA Today, SI and a couple others. Most I saw were 10 wins. Even NFL.com did a mid season when the Bills were 7-2 and predicted 11 wins. Yes many here were talking 12-4, etc but they were all talking with their hearts. You really want to replace the word with Bills fans wearing rose colored glasses.

Week 16 Bills @ Patriots* PreGame Thread MNF
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Must have been awful lucky all the other times you were drunk! LOL -
I'd consider the Bills over achiever as few realistically thought they'd go 12-4 or even 13-3 with the schedule we had. Don't think I'd call the Rams O either, maybe more W as the only question was what version of Goff would we see, rest of team was good. Had to call Seattle a team that likely will win 12 games a U either maybe more a W. I'd probably give NE a U as most didn't think they'd be this bad either, though they were hurt more than most by opt outs too. That may have helped Bills as really no teams in NFC or AFC west were in the O category as that was half the Bills schedule.

Will be interesting to see who the announcers are. Nance was commenting yesterday in the Pitt Indy game that he thought he and Romo would be in Buffalo. He swore to Romo,he didn't know, just a hunch but that's where he thought they were going. It may also have been he thought that game was getting flexed to 4:30 also?

NFL Seeking to move to 17 game season in 2021
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thought it was more than one year they did it for, but maybe not? -
The WFT- Phl is probably the one game where you know Washington has to play to win. Put the Bills on Sunday night, if Pitt loses earlier, Bills can rest starters Reverse it game can become meaningless for Pitt if Bills win. Even Cleveland, think if either Indy, Balt, or Miami were to lose, then Cleveland is in regardless. Arz- Rams game also may be still critical for both teams? So guess can't argue with their logic.

I can see NFL Sunday Ticket go to Amazon Prime
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Could see Amazon picking it but but not Prime only in that you're talking about a package that was costing $300 to $400 full price, now to include that in Prime membership for $130 a year. I'd be thrilled if they did as currently have Prime, but can't see it being part of Prime. On the other hand with all the illegal but readily available free streams, can't see people spending much with Amazon for it either. Maybe $100 Bills package only, or $200 for the entire package could sell it. A friend has told me the quality of the illegal streams has got quite good too with few if any interruptions. -
FNF- Christmas Special, Vikings at Saints
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to whatdrought's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
First time ever, NFL games were played every day of the week. -
Personally I think BB was he bigger part of their success but the one way losing Brady did hurt more than they realized was in attracting mid level FA's that BB loved to sign. Players would sign maybe even for less $$ as they knew with Brady, they'd have a shot at winning SB and for that would deal with BB's prison like atmosphere too. No Brady, go sign elsewhere. Couple that too with BB's track record in the draft the last ten years was not nearly as good as his first 10 years.

CBS: Bills QB Situation "Mild Intrigue"
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was speaking from the context of the medias perspective. He was viewed as the next great thing until he got hurt. Certainly does raise an eye brow that Foles came in and they still won the SB. It also raised questions if the guy behind it all in Philly was Reich which then raises the question here, what if Daboll leaves. My overall point though was Allen needs to come in and repeat things next year to get rid of any doubters. To my question above if Dsaboll leaves all the more reason Allen needs to show it was actually all him. Not saying he can't, but that's what he needs to prove, then all the negative comments will be gone. -
CBS: Bills QB Situation "Mild Intrigue"
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The one thing Allen needs to show is he's not another one year wonder like Wentz. He comes out next year again playing like he is now, think all the questions goes away. Same with Jackson except opposite, he went from MVP to playing well, but is he nothing more than a running QB with so-so arm. Last season he got away with it. -
After reading the Forbes article, I will say this, having the 1st overall pick become a bust is much worse than the #7 pick becoming a bust. Was more risk for Cleveland as Allen was likeliest the riskiest selection, he certainly had the most potential upside, but also the most risk. At #7, not so tough a choice to make.

Is Jake Kumerow a potential Tight End?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So since this post is about changing players positions, why is EJ Epenesa listed as a DE and appears that is the position he's been playing but is wearing #57 a LB number? I get it, there's some gray area there, but why didn't he just take a high number? Could even understand it more the other way, he started as a DE, but now they are having him play more a LB role, but he's still wearing a DE number. This however is the opposite! -
Week 17 maybe see Fromm???
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to ILBillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That would work great if there was some type of valve you could turn on/off so to eliminate any potential spread of Covid! The day Fromm joins the active roster assume next Tuesday after the NE game, you don't know if he was exposed the day before, but he''s not going to test positive until maybe Saturday the day before the Miami game and he's now also exposed himself to half the active roster and also Barkley. Or maybe Barkley turns up positive next Thursday, but since he was still with Allen up until Monday, Allen is now ruled out due to exposure, but starting Tuesday he was also with Fromm so now he's also out. So no there are no QB's for the Miami game and maybe all three turn up positive so they are all ruled out for the first round of playoffs too. While obviously far from ideal at least if Fromm is kept away from everyone else, he could still play, but now you've just created a complete co-mingling and everyone can potentially be out. Think of the Denver situation. The Bills have spent 16 weeks doing their best to make sure this can't happen, but you want to rip it all up. It's like three ships passing in the night in different directions, but you want to allow people to jump off one ship onto either of the others and who knows what you'll end up with. But that's OK! -
Week 17 maybe see Fromm???
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to ILBillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Been written about this a fair amount. Probably not because first off Fromm hasn't been able to even practice much with regular players as he's been isolated form the rest for the most part so little knowledge of eachother. That would also defeat the entire idea of isolation. Currently if Allen or Barkley turned up positive a good change the other would be ruled out by close contact. But Fromm would be OK to go. Now you've just thrown Fromm into the mix so he too could very likely be ruled ineligible based on close contact or if he were positive, he's now infected the rest of the team. So no! -
Chiefs now have 2 preseason games and a bye week
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to BisonMan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That ship sailed last week. Actually if all three tied at 11-3, conference records would also be all tied at 10-2. Not enough common games between all three so comes down to Strength of Victory which about 98% certain KC now has the edge. IF KC had instead lost this week to Saints and final week to Chargers to still end up 13-3, and 10-2 conference then we'd have come out on top based on Strength of Victory , but once they beat Saints, they now have the #1 overall regardless what anyone else does. Basically losing to Saints would have hurt them more than losing to Atlanta. -
OK so every week was reading that Proyer was leading voting for safety. Now he's not even on squad??

Josh Allen AFC Offensive POTW x4?

Surprised Henry didn't win it last week, so could argue he's due for two very strong weeks and may get votes for that reason. -
This Thread is about Kyle Orton
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Brennan Huff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You have to take into account one thing that's changed, back then 2014 and go back 10 years prior, there was a league wide shortage at the QB position so back then if you had a journeyman, you were in the same group as about 1/2 the other teams and felt OK about things and about another 1/4 were in even worse shape. The likelihood of finding the next guy at QB was lower. Now for whatever reason not the league wide shortage. Maybe it's more the result of rule changes that allow mobile QB's to not get the stuffing beat out of them and can succeed or something else. Today I only count 8 teams that don't have anyone on their roster that they didn't draft within the last few years or an established star that could/is become a franchise QB. -
Playoff scenarios ( a weird one)
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to djp14150's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For Common games tie breaker to come into play all teams tied must have 4 common games played which is not likely when teams are in different divisions unless the two divisions that played eachother. But in your example of Rams, Cardinals, and Bears all tied and again with Miami, Tenn and Pitt, common games will probably be thrown out and will go to next tie breaker Strength of Victory OK just went through Pitt, Tenn and Miami tie scenario, looking quickly it appears they actually did play 5 common games, so would kick in for them. I know I had gone through tie breakers between Pitt, Bills, and KC and they didn't have 4 common games.
