  1. But then they become nail biters because of dumb penalties that allow the drives to continue, or we get the first down ourselves, but then is called back due to penalties on us. What were there 3 Unsportsmanlike calls and 2 roughing passer calls?
  2. The Int I can deal with, QB's make bad throws, but the fumble by Allen is just plain dumb, he needs to simply fall on it. Likely Allen will say in his post game he needs top play smarter, but then the next week he does the same thing again. The one penalty on Moss was a bad call, but the one by Allen while ticky tack was easy call, he spiked it right at the guys feet and the two roughing calls were fairly easy calls too..
  3. OK, that's right, forgot about about the Paul Brown thing.
  4. Don't understand the Browns one?
  5. True another very fitting one, but not many I can think of maybe Denver Broncos, San Fran 49's, but how many rams are there in LA or giants in NY or panthers in Carolina? Likely the last thing you'll find in New Orleans is a Saint.
  6. Maybe was a different Miami game, but do recall Marino always giving up on the running game in an era when running was the big thing for success.
  7. Are there buffalo in Africa? Got me thinking about buffalo's, is there another NFL team that combined their nickname with the city name and is an actual person/place/thing as well as Buffalo Bills?
  8. I recall too often it seemed he'd give up on the run game when it was working. Recall the 3rd Super Bowl year, we played Miami in Conference Championship game. Miami was ahead early and running the ball well. Think we went up like 4 points, still within one TD range, that was it after that mostly all passing and think we had 2 to 3 ints. Too often that was his MOA, going to win with his arm. Probably in todays game, he'd be alot more successful with that mentality.
  9. Practice in Az too? The team is either going to have to leave the Bay area to practice or agree to create a bubble for the team themselves, or don't practice at all. Probably they will have to leave town. I'm wondering if other parts of Cal will follow suit. Kind of funny too read a story about 3 weeks ago, the owner of Golden State was going to spend like $30 mil to have 50% capacity at home games by rapid testing everyone prior to the games. He explained how it was a well thought out medically proven plan as they need to have some fans at games as can't afford the revenue losses Thought from a PR standpoint this will look good. Spend $400 on an NBA game ticket and we'll give you test and you won't need to wait in line for 5 hours here. Guess his idea isn't going anywhere now.
  10. And we were lucky Kroft's wife went into labor, else he likely would have been out too. The explanation would be Balt's entire facility was shut down until Monday, where here the rest of the team can keep practicing. Believe there is some type of rule that players have to have a certain minimum number of practice days, which can't occur if facility is closed.
  11. certain irony here in that Denver's QB is named Lock
  12. Devin Hodges, he's on the Steelers. Isaiah Hodgins may be available though.
  13. I just looked at the schedules, moving to Arizona, they never conflict with the Cardinals games. Closest they come is next week, Az home Sunday, then the Bills game would be Monday night. Good weather location, but not stifling like in Sept and out of the state of Cal as more restrictions may come elsewhere like LA
  14. Great idea, except the NFLPA said sure as long as you pay the players for the weeks they are not playing. Easy to blame the league for everything, but sounds like the union played hardball with them and wouldn't allow them to do anything unless they got something in return, mainly money.
  15. you could say the same about RW for the most part other than late 80's to late 90's Kind of interesting both from Detroit, must be in the water. He's not alone. So far Flores looking like the exception, but need to see more than one year of success too.
  16. I guess I don't recall anymore, what was he out for the past couple of weeks for? Was it a knee or something else? Trying to figure out if this just re-injuring the same thing, only worse this time or something totally unrelated?
  17. There college sports coverage (if you watch any of it) is pretty good and no real alternative to them. That takes care of evenings and weekends, but then the rest of the time they need all these other shows and need to pay people to host them.
  18. At least a few weeks back, happened mid week so were able to switch a Sunday afternoon game to Sunday night. This time to late to have some team move from Sunday back to Thursday. Admittedly was expecting this to happen, but bad to hear as this was the only good game Thursday. Really hard to understand why the league picked such week games for Thursday. OK get it Dallas and Detroit are hosting and at least Dallas was supposed to be good this year, but why pick a game against Washington as no one was expecting them to be very good. Seems like every 2 to 3 years we have the Washington Dallas game on Thanksgiving too. By the time the schedule came out, Texans had already traded Hopkins so there too, knew it was a risky game to show. I know the argument has always been when they first went to Thanksgiving games, Dallas and Detroit were the only ones willing to host the game so that's why they don't want to yank it away from them now, but hard to get excited about these two games.
  19. I was referring to it as a smokescreen strictly from the standpoint of it adds a little bit (admittedly minor overall) of confusion for the Chargers. Who will they be facing a center and guard. I'm sure there are slight differences in how they might attack Morse vrs Feleciano at center or Feleciano vrs Winters at guard. If it makes the Chargers spend an extra 1/2 hour reviewing how blocking might be slightly altered, it's still 1/2 hour less spent on something else.
  20. I don't know, last year college was becoming un-watchable with the constant reviews that take over five minutes and result in adding one tenth of a second back onto the clock. Also the one and done's I feel are hurting the game as no continuity with teams and offenses seem to struggle. Also seems no one in college can shoot anymore. I'm starting to get back the point where I'm watching the NBA more than college which hasn't happened to me in close to 40 years. They need to do something to change the last couple of minutes both in the NBA and college.
  21. Yeah there were a few others I skipped over too.
  22. So he takes the heat for it rather than the player. Yes agree something does seem odd with this, that's what kind of makes me think there may be something to this idea that Morse may be in a "semi retired" mode for health reasons already. There could be some obscure legal and/or CBA reasons that it's best not to state what's behind it all. Or he comes out Sunday, starts and plays all game and this was all a smokescreen.
  23. There's enough discussion, debate argument every year here about Free agency and how much money available to sign a certain play, what the cap is, dead cap and debate on some of the rules. But imagine if this were all about basketball? We'd be arguing about how to make the salaries match up, luxury tax, two way contracts, mid level exceptions, The Bird Rule exception, non Bird exception, rookie exception, bi annual exception, traded player exception, supermax contract, who's eligible for the supermax, 5/30% vs 5/25% contracts, Cap holds, Over 38 rule, sign and trades, and much more. Would there even be any time left to talk about actual play in games?
  24. I'm kind of thinking the same thing too, he wants to walk away, but also doesn't want to completely let the team down. So they've agreed to not play him unless extremely needed. It's kind of unprecedented or maybe much more of this does go on all the time, but you just don't hear about it at all. Maybe Morse wants to play but also confided that his wife or parents are begging him to walk away now. Could even be that some of the other lineman are telling him to sit out. Obviously pure speculation and shame on us for creating a conspiracy theory here, but when McD tries to convince people the line is better with Morse not playing, something is not making any sense. Morse may come out and play every snap Sunday, then we can delete these posts and come up with the next conspiracy theory that it was a ploy by McD to leave the Chargers guessing. But if he doesn't play, there is much more to this story than we're being told. Yes that's exactly what McD stated, but how do you know he's even close to telling you the truth? He's going to take the heat for not playing him, rather than let the player take it.
  25. I was wondering some if they'd even still have the Saturday games that week as seems like just about all the college conference championship games are being played that day. Normally the NFL isn't allowed to go up against college football, but since these games were rescheduled to that date, I'm sure the rules no longer applied. But still wondered if the NFL would want to go up against them. Since the games were being moved anyway, would have been easy to just not bother. Will be interesting to see who gets better rating, the NFL or conference championship games, based on normal SEC time slot, that one will probably be going head to head with Bills game and maybe Pac-12 against late game.
