OK, I had not seen this angle before. As I stated in my post above: In one angle couldn't at all see Poyers left hand as there was an officials body in the way. I do think if there was a camera exactly 180 degrees opposite of the 1st one that the officials body blocked the view of would have had a much clearer view. This basically is that view from 180 degrees that I wanted to see. From here I'd agree, his knee was up. Don't think they showed this angle during the game though either? There's a 57 second replay showing three camera angles on ESPN, but none from this direction either. -

I don't think there was a review, the two refs got together and within a few seconds agreed incomplete, Seems the rule with officials is when two refs disagree on a catch or not, the "no catch" vote wins which does tend to make sense. -
Gab"Slow Drag" Davis
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Buffaloflash's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1000 yards is asking alot, depends on the overall health of not just him but the other WRs too plus Allen, but do agree he's very good. Based on Davis play and Browns contract will be surprised if Brown is back next season unless he takes a pretty large paycut. Likely when the Bills negotiated Brown's contract last season they were assuming with a deep draft class the following season, they'd be drafting a WR in the 1st round. If they had done that, Browns $8 mil would be easy to justify even if the rookie by next season was playing better. But once they traded for Diggs, Browns contract for the #2 WR is just way too high when you also add in Beasly and Davis production. -
They won 11 games, only 2 less than us. When was the last time the lowest seeded team to qualify for the playoffs won 11 games. They also were not a good matchup for us in that they run the ball well which we struggle with. I also think we were a bit conservative in the 1st half with play calls. The one series, we got about an 8.5 yard gain on 1st down, then ran the next two plays for no gain, in fact may have lost yards, against a defense that is stronger at stopping the run and had one of their starting CB's out for the game. All year we won with the pass today we tried more to establish the run than normally we'd pass to set up the run. Maybe it was due to our poor field position all half?

No the angle didn't clearly show it as there was no depth perception to tell. You needed a camera mounted above to tell for certain. You're interpreting is a fan and seeing what you want to see. Even the announcers stated/asked the same thing, "Was Poyer's hand on his back before the knee came up" They too didn't think so but could argue if it wasn't over turned. Do I think you're right, yes, think his knee was up first, but understand why it wasn't over ruled. -
The colts fumble that was not called
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He was clearly off the ground but was difficult to say with 100% certainly that Poyer's hand wasn't touching his back prior to the knee coming up off the ground.. I don't think it was, but since they called him down by contact becomes difficult to overrule if can't tell with absolute certainty he wasn't touching him . If it had been ruled a fumble, never would have been over ruled either. -

Just like the two catches by Davis that weren't over ruled, neither was the fumble. In all three if the refs had called Davis out, or ruled a fumble, they never would have been over ruled the other way either. From every angle I saw on the fumble t was impossible to say for 100% certainly that Poyer's hand didn't tough the Indy player while his knee was still down. It didn't look like it, but couldn't say for certain so hard to over rule. -

True but the other ref waved it right off. That may have been what also confused the announcers too. -

To put things in perspective, Indy did win 11 games, they were far from a bad team. When was the last time the last/lowest seeded team to qualify for the playoffs had 11 wins and that's even after adding a 7th team. Do agree with Bill Cowlers post game comments, Bills need to: Be able to run the ball Stop the run Rush the passer better And I'll add defend the TE But those are also the 4 things this team has struggled with all season. -

Actually the one ref called it incomplete right away, the announcers tried to give them a completion. -
Exactly, why is she washing them!

Seeing the headline of Fox Sports with them doing mostly NFC games, I expected it to be an NFC coach leading. Really amazing that all 4 choices are from the AFC, but who could you pick from the NFC? Forget the East, Areins was able to win with Brady, shocking. Packers again won with Rodgers and not much competition in division. Cardinals coach would have been in the running through about week 10 or so, but they faltered down the stretch and Seattle was nothing special.

Thought I read something about Barstool having some issues that the NFL want's to steer clear of. Seems I recall reading that back in September that stated Barstool not likely to be the winner for these reasons. This was from The Sporting News last spring, not sure what is actually behind it all: The league announced Friday that it is barring Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy from watching a "Monday Night Football" game with Goodell in the commissioner's "Fan Cave," despite Portnoy making the winning bid of $250,000 for the privilege during the league's April Draft-A-Thon for COVID-19

Diggs and Beasley both practicing!
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to nato7412's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
True, but the other side is if he re-injures it and is out the rest of playoffs. A WR group of Diggs, Brown, Davis and McKenzie likely would still be pretty strong. If Beasley is close to 100% could always activate him, but only use him if one of the four were to get hurt in the game and the game is still in doubt. Admittedly once these guys do return to practice, they are often in better shape than we realize, so maybe he'll be fine? -
He wouldn't know about that I'm guessing. I've read he's a huge trash talker, but never uses a swear word. Personally I find those two things, trash talking and swearing to be inclusive of each other.

Ever had a dream about the Bills?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to london_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually to be honest 2 nights ago, I dreamed the Bills lost to Indy 17-0 It was 7-0 most of the game early in 4th Indy got another TD, then added a late field goal. I thought of posting this yesterday in the predict the score thread but didn't for fear of being banned. But since you specifically started a thread about Bills dreams felt had to respond. -
Diggs and Beasley both practicing!
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to nato7412's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd be tempted to sit Beasley another week and go with McKenzie in hos role since he is now listed as full participant. -
What really surprises me the most about this whole thing is that Rodgers is 37. That's only 2 years less than Brees but seems like he was around much less. Guess it was due to those year sitting behind Fauve. In 2035 I may post the same thing about Love who prediction: also doesn't play first three seasons before finally getting a chance

To me the thing about Allen was the accuracy idea that it can't improve. I think that's true if you just have a scattershot arm, but if you issue is all on mechanics that can be improved upon. When Taylor was here, he'd threw many inaccurate passes. However I don't recall people talking abut his mechanics being bad, he just was inaccurate. Allen worked on his mechanics. After his rookie year he went back and worked in off season. It did seem to help some but not too much likely case of in practice when he was nice and calm, he'd remember everything, but once the real bullets started flying, he'd often revert back to old bad habits. It took another whole year to finally get enough reps to the point where the good mechanics became a natural thing for him to do and could do it without thinking. Couple that with as they always say, the game has slowed down for him, so less need for any panic to set in. Also implemented some new training methods too. You could argue this is really only his 5th year of any high level football, 3 in Buffalo and 2 in Wyoming which many would argue wasn't that high a level to begin with
