So who would you switch too? They have tried just about every lineman at the 1 Tech and someone looks good for maybe 1 game at most, then the next week the same thing is a disaster. LB they were weak at back ups to start with, throw injuries in there and no better options for the most part

So in two weeks with no early CBS games due to Masters will they still broadcast games in the late slot to the entire country or will they just be broadcast to the regions of the teams playing. Normally there isn't much broadcast competition going up against the doubleheader game. If the late game is broadcast all over the country would be different. I'm hoping broadcast all over as for me down in Carolina, a good chance the Bills Az game could be shown as of the 3 games in that CBS slot, that's probably the only one with two good teams playing so could see that one going to most of the country if anything goes to most of the country.

Really like what specific positions? other than possibly #2 CB and OLB who typically rotates out on 3rd down anyway can't see any rookies starting. D line is one of the two deepest positions on the team. Admittedly no one is great pro-bowl level, but they have alot of depth and can roll out 9 guys as good as him. AJ was likely drafted to become Murphys replacement next season. He was drafted around #50 overall and dropped a huge amount from where he was originally expected to go. Bottom line The team doesn't need him this year. While I'd think unlikely I suppose too it's a possibility he is being sat out as about to be traded.

There's an article in todays BN about Bojorquez backing up the stats you're stating and how the Bills were able to acquire steal him from the Pats. For the past two years practically everyone here was trying to run him out of town. If GM decisions were made by up/down votes here, he'd be long gone. Now he's doing well (except when he looks for the laces) My point is Bass could be just like him, also a rookie, shows enough in the games and even more in practice that the Bills aren't going to give up on him. He has the leg required to play in western NY as did Bojorquez . Excluding a complete meltdown, doubt he'll be going anywhere this year or even next unless the team can somehow get someone markedly better.

Stephon Gilmore knee injury potential?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Seasons1992's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Made the comment a couple years back, but am surprised Belichick has never signed a contract to do Microsoft commercials. Yeah others break them too, but seems Belichick is the league leader in broken tablets. I'm sure MS could write a neat script for him to explain how breaking them shows what a good product they are. -
Interesting when I saw this thread, my first thought of Adderley was as a Packer, but then saw thread was started by CowgirlsFan. Do recall him with the Cowgirls though too.

Micah Hyde's Last Season In Buffalo?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to corta765's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Would agree if he refuses to restructure, then maybe yes he's cut, but otherwise see them adding a year and cutting the $$ back a fair amount. -
Do remember the game, recalled it was the Jets, but didn't remember who they played until read it here. Was reading an article the other day about Fox winning the broadcast rights in 1992 to the NFC games. Something I had forgotten about until Reading the article, prior to that the score of the game wasn't on the screen all the time, usually only at commercial breaks and once i na great while during a long drive. Will say watching the KC game on Fox last week, I do like how they show the QB's stats all the time too and maybe the stats for the RB or WR who made the last paly

MONGO! Feliciano activated
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yup terrible, 2nd year in the league, they switch him from tackle to guard after the first season, no mini camps, no pre-season games, somewhat of a limited training camp, and when he reported to camp the plan still was for him to play tackle until Feleciano got hurt, then switched him to right guard, then two games into the season switch him to the left side and the guy isn't playing at a pro bowl level. Many times Allen barely has six seconds to throw the ball, under extreme pressure every play it seems. Terrible, what a waste! -

Could see him playing some on a low pitch count. Kind of easy with a O lineman to play one series each half, then go back out and sit for a while. If it ends up being some extended 15 play drive, maybe he comes out after 10 snaps at most. We also have no idea how much he has been working prior to being activated. Hasn't he been able to practice the past three weeks since the "clock" started for activation? -
Gilmore Selling his home

You know if it were any other player with a name like Jones, roberts, etc it wouldn't have worked, but first time I read your post, thought it said "stained foot...." PS I see I'm about 100 miles south of you in Wilmington NC -

Would be a shame if the trade will actually occur next Monday and it forced NE to hold him out of Sundays game to protect from injury. I'd hate to see that happen. -
Hot Take - Don’t pay Qbs

That's what I thought, but also seemed to recall paying him more then his performance tanked, guess I was just thinking of Fitz. -
Hot Take - Don’t pay Qbs
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to C.Biscuit97's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In my opinion what really murders franchises is huge 2nd QB contacts to marginal type players that can't elevate the team on their own and need good to great players around them to consistently win. When you give the big 2nd contract to someone like a Tannerhill in Miami (though he's not looking so marginal now in Tenn) you can't sign enough good players to make the team good. Didn't we give both Fitz and T Edwards second contracts? But there's been plenty of these huge contracts given for marginal players. On the other hand doubt Brady, Brees, Rodgers or Manning's contract don't hurt the franchise as they can carry the team on their own for the most part. -
Tough question! Hard to answer without being inside an NFL locker room. Are little aches and nicks and bruises typically never discussed as you don't want to appear soft. Obviously this is much worse, but maybe he didn't think so at the time. While I'm extremely far from a professional athlete, I still recall times when I was a kid even in 20's, jammed a finger, turned an ankle, no big deal, six months later found out the finger/ankle had been actually been broken(ankle was a small crack) Often you think it's just a minor little thing. While the league tell and requires the players to report every little thing, easy to see that it doesn't often happen. Don't know what the laws are in Florida, but in New York he'd be in trouble with Workmans Comp for not reporting a work related injury within 24 hours. I'm sure the NFL is required to abide by those rules as well.

I think NE has an easier schedule than we do for the rest of the season as they've played a tougher part already. The only two really tought games left for them is Baltimore and the Rams in LA I believe. We have Seattle, San Fran, Pitt, at Arizona To the OP, so you're only figuring this out now WRT the KC and Tenn games??

D-Line Contracts (good news?)
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Rigotz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
From what I recall Dockery, Walker, etc were signed to big $$ contracts and failed. And when one failed one year they'd sign another to replace him just as bad and for just as much money. Here we have individually relatively small contract, together adds up to a lot of money. Was mentioned in another thread yesterday by a couple of us in a somewhat unrelated thread, but the issue may be: The year prior Beane did a similar thing with with the O line, signed mid level, excluding Morse, no name with players and it worked out pretty well. This year not so well, what's been different, no off season/pre-season to get the new players together to jell. In hindsight if Beane had to do it over again AND if he knew there wasn't going to be much of an off season, maybe he would have instead resigned Lawson and Phillips. Throw in Star opting out, certainly didn't help the continuity any there either. One of the things thought would help the team this year with a very limited off season was the fact that we brought back so many players from last season, not much change. However most of our new players are all concentrated in one position group, the D line! Will be interesting to see if as they continue to play together, will there be improvement there by season end? -
D-Line Contracts (good news?)
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Rigotz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So lets assume you don't resign Murphy and cut at least two of them. You'll still have at least $3mil in dead cap, and a smaller cap and little free money. You'll have Star coming back at 32 after a full season off and while his contract is better if you were to cut him a pretty big hit there. So what three players at a minimum are you going to sign with limited money and likely not drafting until at least the upper teens if not lower that is going to actually improve things? -
I live in NC, originally when the schedule came out thought there'd be a good chance game would be shown locally, that is until Pitt Balt game got rescheduled, now getting that instead. Kind of surprised they didn't try to flex the game to Sunday night, though Dallas and Philly do have a large viewing base.
