  1. you could say the same about RW for the most part other than late 80's to late 90's Kind of interesting both from Detroit, must be in the water. He's not alone. So far Flores looking like the exception, but need to see more than one year of success too.
  2. I guess I don't recall anymore, what was he out for the past couple of weeks for? Was it a knee or something else? Trying to figure out if this just re-injuring the same thing, only worse this time or something totally unrelated?
  3. There college sports coverage (if you watch any of it) is pretty good and no real alternative to them. That takes care of evenings and weekends, but then the rest of the time they need all these other shows and need to pay people to host them.
  4. At least a few weeks back, happened mid week so were able to switch a Sunday afternoon game to Sunday night. This time to late to have some team move from Sunday back to Thursday. Admittedly was expecting this to happen, but bad to hear as this was the only good game Thursday. Really hard to understand why the league picked such week games for Thursday. OK get it Dallas and Detroit are hosting and at least Dallas was supposed to be good this year, but why pick a game against Washington as no one was expecting them to be very good. Seems like every 2 to 3 years we have the Washington Dallas game on Thanksgiving too. By the time the schedule came out, Texans had already traded Hopkins so there too, knew it was a risky game to show. I know the argument has always been when they first went to Thanksgiving games, Dallas and Detroit were the only ones willing to host the game so that's why they don't want to yank it away from them now, but hard to get excited about these two games.
  5. I was referring to it as a smokescreen strictly from the standpoint of it adds a little bit (admittedly minor overall) of confusion for the Chargers. Who will they be facing a center and guard. I'm sure there are slight differences in how they might attack Morse vrs Feleciano at center or Feleciano vrs Winters at guard. If it makes the Chargers spend an extra 1/2 hour reviewing how blocking might be slightly altered, it's still 1/2 hour less spent on something else.
  6. I don't know, last year college was becoming un-watchable with the constant reviews that take over five minutes and result in adding one tenth of a second back onto the clock. Also the one and done's I feel are hurting the game as no continuity with teams and offenses seem to struggle. Also seems no one in college can shoot anymore. I'm starting to get back the point where I'm watching the NBA more than college which hasn't happened to me in close to 40 years. They need to do something to change the last couple of minutes both in the NBA and college.
  7. Yeah there were a few others I skipped over too.
  8. So he takes the heat for it rather than the player. Yes agree something does seem odd with this, that's what kind of makes me think there may be something to this idea that Morse may be in a "semi retired" mode for health reasons already. There could be some obscure legal and/or CBA reasons that it's best not to state what's behind it all. Or he comes out Sunday, starts and plays all game and this was all a smokescreen.
  9. There's enough discussion, debate argument every year here about Free agency and how much money available to sign a certain play, what the cap is, dead cap and debate on some of the rules. But imagine if this were all about basketball? We'd be arguing about how to make the salaries match up, luxury tax, two way contracts, mid level exceptions, The Bird Rule exception, non Bird exception, rookie exception, bi annual exception, traded player exception, supermax contract, who's eligible for the supermax, 5/30% vs 5/25% contracts, Cap holds, Over 38 rule, sign and trades, and much more. Would there even be any time left to talk about actual play in games?
  10. I'm kind of thinking the same thing too, he wants to walk away, but also doesn't want to completely let the team down. So they've agreed to not play him unless extremely needed. It's kind of unprecedented or maybe much more of this does go on all the time, but you just don't hear about it at all. Maybe Morse wants to play but also confided that his wife or parents are begging him to walk away now. Could even be that some of the other lineman are telling him to sit out. Obviously pure speculation and shame on us for creating a conspiracy theory here, but when McD tries to convince people the line is better with Morse not playing, something is not making any sense. Morse may come out and play every snap Sunday, then we can delete these posts and come up with the next conspiracy theory that it was a ploy by McD to leave the Chargers guessing. But if he doesn't play, there is much more to this story than we're being told. Yes that's exactly what McD stated, but how do you know he's even close to telling you the truth? He's going to take the heat for not playing him, rather than let the player take it.
  11. I was wondering some if they'd even still have the Saturday games that week as seems like just about all the college conference championship games are being played that day. Normally the NFL isn't allowed to go up against college football, but since these games were rescheduled to that date, I'm sure the rules no longer applied. But still wondered if the NFL would want to go up against them. Since the games were being moved anyway, would have been easy to just not bother. Will be interesting to see who gets better rating, the NFL or conference championship games, based on normal SEC time slot, that one will probably be going head to head with Bills game and maybe Pac-12 against late game.
  12. the point is, you never know, maybe by next August he will have really improved and make the roster. If not as was stated likely a long shot for PS. He didn't count as any slots against he Bills so little to lose by keeping him other than paying him. Even that, I wonder if part of his salary is paid by the league, or maybe for all we know, his salary is even a tax write-off for the team?
  13. Loss to NE If the Fish game determines division title or even seedings, that likely could get moved to either 4:25 or even Sunday night game. Looking at the week 17 schedule, seems like the league did a bad job of guessing this year as to which will be key matchups. Very few games that likely will have both teams contending for playoff spots. Well unless you count the big NFC matchups like Dallas at the Giants, winner take all for the division title. Also a couple other NFC West games on Fox. But of the CBS games the only likely one is Bills - Fish and maybe Pitt - Cleveland where both teams likely will be playing week 18. Could see one of these getting moved.
  14. I'd be rather nervous if they were in a situation of starting two rookies next year. If Morse retires, I'd be OK with the rookie at center, but would want a vet FA in the other slot, plus the three returnees. I also think we have needs other places that nor sure we can afford two high draft picks this year on the line.
  15. He'll go some place that gives him a legit chance to start. If he flames out there too, then could see him coming to Buffalo around 2023/24 or so as a back up. By then Fromms contract would be about up too so they'd need to decide what they want to do with him, but good change he'd also want to leave for chance to start.
  16. Agree with LB and CB. O line depends on what happens with Williams and Feleciano. If they were to both come back then the line has their 5 starters, need goes way down. If anything I'd argue more for a center/guard in case Morse decides he's had enough in one more year or so. You seem to need to use high draft picks on O line if you want the guy to be an instant starter. Assuming Morse comes back at least for 2021, you can develop mid range picks into starters in year 2 to 3. I think with the money invested in White, you need a low cost option at #2 CB so would be in favor of drafting one there maybe in 2nd or 3rd. Probably look for LB late in the first, should still be someone good at #32. Could also get a good starting LB in FA too. I'd almost favor that and draft an Edge late in the 1st round, though not certain how well you can find one that late. Or even draft Star's replacement for 2022/23.
  17. Next year is a good opportunity for the Bills to go far as they will be playing the NFC and AFC south so we'll have a little easier time of it.
  18. Yeah but it wasn't thrown out of bounds. It was a long completion, think I saw for 60+ yards
  19. Am watching the Gamecast replay on ESPN. So on 4th down Denver threw a pass, granted only 4 seconds so assume idea was pass would run out the clock, but bad things can happen when you throw a pass, strip sacjk int, returned for TD, whatever. Without seeing the play hard to know maybe WR was completely open??
  20. The cherry on top is that the AFC North is also playing the AFC South, likely the second weakest division of the 8
  21. I beleive you're half right, CBS/Fox assign games to affiliates, however pretty sure the local station can ask for a different one. If you go to 506 Sports you'll often see the game for a specific city changes in the "update" section. I can recall a number of years back one of the local stations in Rochester use to allow people to vote on which early game they wanted on whichever network was not televising Bills game. These days Wyoming will often televise Bills games because of Allen, but the surrounding area gets a different game.
  22. If you think most sports were better 30 years ago, imagine how much better they could have been if you had been able to watch on a 65 inch TV in 1080P. Occasionally you see some grainy clip from back then, how'd we manage to even watch or see anything. Certainly watching with today's technology makes all sports better.
  23. I wonder with what seems to be just about all the college conference championship games being moved to Dec 19th, will they still move some NFL games to Saturday as planned? In a normal year that Saturday is the first date of some rather meaningless bowl game other than for people connected to the two schools playing so not a bad day for NFL games. Now would be interesting to see who comes out ahead in the ratings, say the SEC or Big 10 championship game or Buffalo Vs Denver for example.
  24. Maybe I've just caught the worst of him all the time, but seems like whenever I see him play a turnover is coming any second?? I tried to look up his turnover stats but couldn't easily find them
  25. I know you didn't say to cut anyone, but in order to activate Sweeney someone either needs to be cut or placed on IR to free up a spot
