Will Carr follow Fitz in targeting Levi Wallace?

Zay Jones will torch him! -
OK yes forgot about the Covid IR designation. So when the players come back can their replacements go back to PS without exposure to waiver claims by other teams? Certainly going to hurt Tenn if they lose these players for 3 weeks. Just hearing everything going on today in the news, they could be healthy enough to come back in 10 days if mild cases, but will be required to sit 3 weeks.

So what are the rules WRT roster moves due to Covid? Normally to activate someone from the PS there needs to be a roster opening so you'd have to waive/release an active player, so he could be then signed by another team. Is there some type of exemption for any players who test positive? Can they can be removed from active roster with no ability to be poached, then once healthy moved back to active roster again with PS players now being denoted and again can't be lost to another team? Tenn have close to ten players right now positive, no way they can just make them inactive for game, they need replacements. Without something like that, don't see how using PS players helps at all.

How do you handle a week 18? Lets assume the Bills Tenn game gets canceled next. Both those teams likely could be int he playoffs or at a minimum in the mix for a spot at the end of the season. So do the Bills and Tenn play week 18 while the remaining playoff teams basically get a weeks rest. If that happened to me and I was the GM/owner of the team, and I was already in the playoff, this game would just affect seeding I'd just announce OK, we're forfeiting the game. I prefer a lower seed than playing against a team that just got a weeks rest when I had to play a game. The only somewhat fair way to do it would have makeups maybe between weeks 15 and 16. So in my example above Tenn would play the Bills that week while everyone else is off. But then everyone plays the next two weeks. If any games need to be canceled the last two weeks, sorry but then it is a forfeit. If it's involving non playoff teams, they could still play week 18 just for revenue purposes.

Assuming the plan is to juggle teams bye weeks to get Tenn and Pitt to line up, both will now be playing 13 straight weeks assuming no other interruptions. How's that different than every other team when they have a bye week? The Bills will have 14 days to prepare for the Chargers game. Tenn has already lost days this week, plus no players in the facility to believe I read Saturday. Yes it sucks for the Bills themselves to be the team Tenn gets extra time to prepare for, but in no way do I see this giving Tenn and advantage season wise. Every week there are teams that get an extra week of prep time coming of their bye, this is one of the few years up until now the Bills didn't have to face one of those teams. Bills are just unlucky in this case. The other option (and if this happens once a team already had their bye) would be to play the game at the end of the season. Both Tenn and Pitt have a good chance of making the playoffs. That would really suck for them if basically they move the start of the playoffs back one week so now week 18 Tenn is playing Pitt while all the remaining playoff teams get a week rest. Not everyone gains something but would be a huge advantage for whomever plays those two in the playoffs. So do think the idea of moving makeup games to the end of the season would be very unfair. Maybe they play make ups week 15 and 16 as needed so all teams still play the last two weeks.

Yes it's very hard. One week is easy, but two weeks requires moving the Super Bowl. Or they would have needed to start the season earlier. Considering how litle training camp they had, don't think that would have been a good idea either. Moving the SB is not an easy thing when you consider things like hotel rooms, travel, venues, etc.

Chad Kelly is Ready to Race!
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to NoHuddleKelly12's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Apparently the Colts don't agree with you. He released when they cut down to 53, apparently no other teams felt he was worth the backup slot then either. I didn't even realize the Colts had resigned him to the PS. -
All-22 Grades for Bills/Rams (The Athletic)
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Believe this same article also stated that wouldn't be shocked to see Ford back at RG this week as may decide they'd rather go with Spain than Winters. Long term think it will be Ford at LG and Feliciano at RG -
Thought game one and two had basically the same line other than for a couple of plays, what differed those two games, don't recall?? In general though think playing Ford at LG was more an audition to see if he can be the long term answer at LG and also due to fear of Donaldson going against Spain. This week unless Feliciano is back may see Ford go back to right side as the overall thinking may be that Spain and Ford is better than Winters and Ford. Ford did reasonably well for the first game at LG against maybe the best DT in the game so feel once Feliciano is back, barring a melt down by Ford, the line up will be Dawkins, Ford, Morse, Feliciano, and Williams and will stay that way.

Some thoughts on Bills start this season

3. When you complete 70% of your passes, the TOP isn't hurt too much, but not certain how sustainable that will be. Having said that short 5 yard passes have a good chance of completion and more often that not will net more yards than a running play would. 6. I think playing Ford at LG was more an audition to see if he can be the long term answer at LG and also due to fear of Donaldson going against Spain. This week unless Feliciano is back may see Ford go back to right side as the overall thinking may be that Spain and Ford is better than Winters and Ford. Ford did reasonably well for the first game at LG against maybe the best DT in the game so feel once Feliciano is back, barring a melt down by Ford, the line up will be Ford LG and Feliciano RG and will stay that way. -
The End of the Lamar Jackson Era

Watching the game last night, I can't say this thought didn't also go through my head too. But I also think one game is way to early to say this is the end. He did win the MVP last year and looked good ***** it. Have defenses figured him out, maybe. His style may work against weak teams, but when facing a team as good, he's in trouble. Will be interesting to see how the Balt. NE game goes whenever they play. In many ways he's like Allen except without the arm. -
Moderation Point System Discussion
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think points should expire after some time period Should be different levels of offenses, minor one point, to more majors 3 points. You go over a certain amount first time in time out is a short period, 2nd offense within short period of time gets a longer time out. Who how do you decide what's point worthy? I'd assume a mod seeing something out of line. Do mods see/read every post though, doubtful not on some of these threads that have a new page every 15 minutes, things easily slip through unnoticed. Maybe to my point above if missed, you get bonus (minus) points for ratting someone out!! -
You're right there, it's not fantasy football, so you don't throw away promising draft picks after two seasons to sit him. You need to give them time to develop. Granted if he's a complete failure that's different, but Knox is far from that. They're already spreading the ball around, 8,8 ,7 that's how many receivers caught passes for the Bills in the past three games Since you mention KC they had 6,7,8 receivers catch balls so they are already spreading it around even more. What do you want to do, go two tight ends, who you sitting then instead, Brown, Beasley? If you want more play makers, go with 4 WRs out there with Davis and sit the TE some. They've drafted 4 D lineman in past three seasons and signed one in FA who is only 26 as opposed to 3 O-line and they traded away one. As I said above, think they have more than enough play makers on offense.
-
But yet Knox stats were better last year than TJ's With the WR core the Bills have, how many targets is the TE even going to see? Knox or Kroft are both still strong enough that they can't just be ignored by the defense. If I'm the GM next year I'd be drafting CB's, O line, and LB way before another TE.
-
For what purpose? Even last year, whenever it was a passing down he'd come off for an extra DB. Klein played one snap Sunday as they went with five DB's all game. You could argue that they did that because of Klein's weakness or because the Rams passing game dictated, IMO it was the Rams play that caused the Bills to go with five DB's. I don't recall last year when Milano was hurt, Alexander filling in for him. Unless you suggest he play nose tackle I don't see that we'd gain much.

Ranking the NFL QBs...
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to bills6969's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Are you basing it on 3 games of stats or who are the best QB's? If best QB's would have to put Rodgers ahead of Allen and also Prescott who I assume you forgot. I also would put Watson up ahead of Murrey, Brees, and Jackson. My 3,4,5,6 would be Rodgers, Prescott, Allen, Watson and could easily move Watson ahead of Allen too. Hard to believe, but Watson just doesn't have the weapons that Allen has. Am starting to think Brees should have retired one year earlier. Think I'd also put Brady ahead of Mayfield too.
