Bills' O-Line depth is remarkable
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We pretty much went with the same philosophy with the D line too, lots of depth with mid level players, so far hasn't worked out as well there, barring yesterday. Could be with all the off season changes they are only now starting to jell. -
Is the Bills window smaller than thought?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don't disagree with anything you stated, but would add to it where the problem becomes a huge issue to the point the team can't win, it's not due to giving Brady, Manning, or a Mahommes a huge contract. It's giving huge or close to huge contracts to someone like a Tyrod Taylor or a Tannerhill (though not looking so bad now in Tenn) who is a good QB, but not a superstar that can carry the team on his back. Then you quickly get yourself in trouble. -
Is Tua hype the new Darnold hype?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to whatdrought's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The hype itself could be, but I think the situations are very different IMO I think Darnold was taken about where he should have been drafted and has just under performed badly, though much may not be his fault as much as the team and coaching. He also did produce in college and not on an extremely stacked team. The only knock on him coming out was he has alot of turnovers Tua while basically drafted almost as high, IMO way too high. He just seems more a case of playing on an extremely stacked Bama team that completed or won the national championship every year. Questionable size for the NFL too. So while the hype is certainly there, will be much less surprised if Tua fails than I was with Darnold. Darnold could become another Tannerhill too where he goes to another team and succeeds which really would be a knock on Gase as he was also Tannerhill's coach. Conversely would be more surprised if Tua were to leave Miami in a year or two and did better elsewhere. -

That's rather misleading as likely could also say something like ""No QB before 2015ish ever made $20 million. So a rather small window to look at. Am a bit surprised Brady wasn't making $20 mil, but that's part of the reason he's no longer in NE too. -
Challenge Specialist for McDermott
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Heavy Kevi's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think they are showing replaying on the scoreboard as there was some other game earlier, not even a Bills game, but the announcers were commenting that they could see the coach was looking at the scoreboard screen to decide whether to challenge or not. But even then the scoreboard views come from the TV camera crew provides them. -
Challenge Specialist for McDermott
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Heavy Kevi's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Correct me if I'm wrong, bu they never showed the view of Davis feet until after they had already kicked the field goal. Generally what the views they show on TV are the same as the ones in the stadium and in any coaches booth. The coaches don't have some magical access to call up camera angles at their request, it's all on the TV broadcast to show the other views. There was also no recognition by Davis that "Hey I scored" which isn't surprising as a receiver is going to be looking down at his own feet in a situation like that and to know I kept my heal off the ground. At that point all he was looking at was the flag. As was also pointed out the Bills were in hurry up mode at that point as they wanted to run two bad play calls quickly. If that hadn't been the case, maybe the replay from that angle would have been shown right away. There certainly have been legit times to criticize McD for his challenges, but this time without showing a camera angle, can't see how he's at fault here. -
I'm not saying this in any way as a knock on Allen. I thought the Bills receivers were more wide open all game than Seattle's WR were, meaning it took more perfect throws from Wilson to get the completions. Not too many QB's in the league can make that many perfect throws repeatedly throughout a game. Without all those perfect throws, it may have been a blow out. The Bills WR seemed to always be open as was the case on the first four weeks of the season too. Maybe much of that is a credit to Daboll.

Congrats again Bills fans!
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to JetsFan20's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe! As long as they make the playoffs, then it becomes bast on playoff wins. They could be 8-8, make the playoffs, and win SB, they are then picking #32 -
LOL I did see it, was thinking the name sounded familiar. But could be from somewhere else too??

Postgame Thread Bills vs. Seahawks
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
NFC East and AFC South so yeah not too much there other than Tenn. Bills and Denver are the two crossover games Suppose you can even make the same argument about Baltimore as they have the same schedule except crossover games are KC and NE. -
My only concern, not that it's on Allen in any way, but how many sacks he had. Are other teams going to blitz like crazy. Do think if Morse and Ford are back, things may be much better on the line. Morse was on the sidelines during the week, guessing he'll at worse be back the game after the bye if not next week. Don't recall what was Fords injury last couple of weeks? Did he re-injure the ankle or is this a new completely different injury?

You think they are better than KC?? I'd go 3rd best behind Pitt and KC -
You forgot about DB, IMO that should be #1 , then LN in 2nd. Assuming they could resign Feleciano and Williams, then O line 3rd or 4th round or even lower. Or maybe trade down and pick up an extra 2nd, though hard to trade down if drafting #32! In reality likely will be picking somewhat low probably below #20. Money will be tight to sign players due to reduced cap, but will all teams will have the same issue.

WR Jake Kumerow Active on Sunday

Well it can't possibly be Duke! -
And only misses two actual games. Both against NFC west teams so is good if we can lose them anyway.

I didn't find stats separating offensive vs defensive penalties so all I have is totals, but in the first four games that were wins, the Bills averaged 5.75 penalties a game, the last four, 7.25, not a huge sounding difference, but included in those last four were 10 against Tenn and 11 against the Jets. What kept the numbers half way decent in the last four games were only 4 penalties against KC, a game in which they came about a tenth of a second from recovering a fumble fairly deep in KC territory, a TD there would have put the Bills ahead late in the game. In the Jets game nine times they had the ball within the 35 yard line and came away with no TD's Actually one was called back because of Davis not lining up correctly on the LOS. Another time 1st and goal, holding penalty and maybe was there another 5 yard penalty afterwards too or they lost that on a bad play call. The NE game in fairly windy conditions was all about running the ball, they didn't try that much to push the ball down the field, took what the defense gave them. My point is not so sure the passing game would have lost that much without the team shooting themselves in the foot as much as they have. On top of that defenses are taking away the deep passing game, forcing them to throw underneath and run which before last week, they weren't able to. If they can continue to run the ball, will force defenses to change, then lets see how they look.
-
They were 2-2 in the four games and the two they lost certainly weren't because of Allen. Did he play great, as good as the first four games, no. But the defense couldn't stop anything. The KC they were trying to run the ball with very little success to keep KC 's offense off the field and at the same time KC ran all over the bills to the tune of 37 minutes of possession. So in 22 minutes they had the ball they scored 17 points. So as to the scoreboard, we're 6-2

4th highest pressure rate in NFL

Wow that is shocking to hear. Would never have imagined we'd be anywhere near the top. Sure it's not 4th from the bottom?? -
Milano out for Seahawks game
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Will be surprised if he plays the following week, likely the plan is sit the next two games, then a bye week, bring him back after that or if need be sit longer. I assume bye weeks count towards IR time? So if they put hit on IR today, in 3 weeks he could come back for the Chargers game on the 29th? -

Was real happy last weeks to see Miami beat the Rams too as that will help us down the road. -
Milano out for Seahawks game
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Really?? Since you appear to be diagnosing this as a career ending injury In his career he's played 49 out of 54 games. So he should retire for missing five games?? In the past 4 years have you been out of work five days total sick? If so I hope you've quit!
