First off can't believe how hard it is to find actual stats these days. All you can find are fantasy rankings! Out of the 50 targets, how many were great easily catchable passes that he dropped? Without replaying every throw to Knox, I'm sure knowing Allen's accuracy issues, many were either badly thrown or at best not an easy to catch ball either. From what I recall there were about 10 drops, certainly not great, but for a rookie lets see how he improves. The one time I could find stats for TE's think he ranked around 30th in receptions, ahead of first round pick Hockenson and close to the other rookie TE's other than Fant. Think there was one rookie drafted lower than had good stats. Many here stated the Bills should have gone after OJ Howard last year as he was available 53 targets, 34 catches, 459 yards, 1 TD not much different! Jimmy Graham had 38 catches out of 60 targets and had passes thrown to him by Aaron Rodgers. 4 more catches by Knox would have put him up with a number of the other highly thought of TE's around 65%, I'm sure there were easily 4 hard to catch passes thrown by Allen say compared to Rodgers. Then factor in how shaky the Bills overall passing attack was! He also can do things after the catch the few in the league can do. His stats this year may be lower with all the weapons the team has, we'll see. Actually the one thing you can say by looking at the stats, the fact that 4 more catches would have put him with the league leaders, means you really can't draw any type of conclusions by looking at the stats. There's not nearly enough body of work there IMO. Was he great, no, but was he putrid and sucked as you stated, absolutely not! Having said all that to the OP's point. Knox is far far cry from Kelce and Davis and Moss have yet to take a snap. So kind of crazy at this point to compare the two teams

CBS All Access / VPN experiment failed
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Ra-cha-cha's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes it worked, I have some other methods up my sleeve, but this is a good back up and will consider it as may be more reliable. Hmm there's now a Carbones Pizza in Buffalo. That is one place I missed from when I lived in Rochester Thanks for the explanation! -
CBS All Access / VPN experiment failed
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Ra-cha-cha's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So I went through the steps you described, is there some way to test it out right now to see if it's working. I don't have CBS all Access, at least not right no, but just wondering if what I did will work for me? -
CBS All Access / VPN experiment failed
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Ra-cha-cha's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's only going to work in a location that is showing the Bills game on the local affiliate, like Buffalo. If for example you were in Boston, where the NE game is on CBS at 1:00 it won't work. -
CBS All Access / VPN experiment failed
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Ra-cha-cha's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Let me know how well it works. I used Kaspersky secure Connection VPN (not Express VPN), connected through England, I had some success with it where I could trick it, but not very often. -
Anthony Lynn Kept BILLS Binders ...

Thought I read Spanos isn't getting much of anything out of this new stadium deal. He didn't put anything in either, but can easily walk away and move back to San Diego -
First Coach Fired This Season and When
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Big Gun's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why take chances on not securing the #1 overall pick. It could be a fight to the end between these two. If you fire a coach after around week 14 or 15, it's easy to name an interim coach for 2 to 3 weeks, like the Bills did with Lynn. You name someone after week 5 or 6 , if the problem really was coaching, the new guy could win a bunch of games, and then it becomes hard to justify firing him. (wasn't that what happened in Cleveland with Freddy Kitchens?) Where as in most of these situations you're probably better off hiring a brand new coach and maybe GM too in the off season along with a new staff where you have more choices. Lets say they wanted Frazer, they're not getting him mid season. You only options are promote from the staff or someone who already was unemployed. Granted it did work out with Marv, but those are more the exceptions. All things considered, think there's less mid season firings these days in the NFL compared to 20 to 30 years ago. Actually RW may have led the league in this category! -

Chargers owner is cheap! -
I'm no so certain Yeldon is an easy one. Last year they dressed an extra running back slot with DeMarco. With him gone will they instead dress all three plus Jones for ST I think both AJ and Gillaim sit out the first couple weeks, but by late October they'll be active. Gilliam for ST and AJ based on talent and good chance by then one of the other lineman will be nicked up to some level. If Gilliam is any good at blocking, could see him taking over Smiths spot. 9 O-Lineman on the roster so can only sit out a total of one. Finally MCD let the cat out of the bag on where Ford will be lining up on the line! I know we've all been waiting on that decision

Bills release DiMarco, injury settlement
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow couldn't believe the the picture in the BN today of DeMarco next to O-lineman V Salako. He looks like a midget. Seems so tiny for a fullback. -
Greece area Bills bars?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Bills fan since 87's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've heard he used to watch the games with Hitler, but stopped as Hitler would just get too intense and excited while watching. Made him nervous one game when the Bills lost and Hitler blamed him for the loss and threatened to attack Greece. I do miss Hitlers presence here on 2BD, always enjoyed his posts. -
Watching Bills games on TV(out of market)
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to CBennett's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not sure which crappy on line feeds you're talking about but the one a close friend of mine tells me about are very good, as good as satellite and certainly much better during stormy weather.. It seems like the technology of illegal feed has caught up alot! LOL Just have to know where to look I've heard. If you did a Google search, it would probably lead you to some good ones that might forward you on to the latest ones. You may have reddit about it hear -
Question: Is Moss pushing Devin to start?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe not yet, but could see it happen by late in the season, particularly if fumbling does does become/continue to be an issue. Or if Moss is just much better as a blocker -
Zack Ertz, doubt it but
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to machine gun kelly's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Before you posted this, by any chance did you actually look at Zack Ertz rookie stats? They were slightly better than Knox's stats, 36 v 28 catches, 469 v 388 yards, 4 v 2 TD's, and basically the same size and weight. So how in your wisdom do you know that Knox won't be just as good. Knox had many drops, though am sure while some were his fault, likely with Allen's accuracy issues likely some weren't the easiest to catch either and that's pretty much his only fault. (and I'm not saying this as a knock on Allen either, accuracy has improved, but still not great) Exactly how many drops did Ertz have his rookie year BTW? Ertz 2nd season was up to 58 catches, not amazing by any stretch. Over the years he's certainly benefited from having a better cast around him too than Knox had last season This is exactly how teams get themselves into trouble with the cap by making dumb moves like this. You have to cut other players to pay for a guy like Ertz and you then give up on a 3rd round draft pick on top of it. Will Knox become a great TE, who knows, and no one else knows either, but he's also got too much potential talent not to be out there on a regular basis as a #1 TE to develop.. If he cuts the drops in half, that would be pretty good. He also may not get many more chances this year with having a better cast around him too. -
Share Sunday Ticket Max
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to bobobonators's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The product may be legit, and can air the games on local TV but to air out of city NFL games, no way! Are you telling me they have the expressed written consent of the NFL to rebroadcast or re-transmit the game, 110% they don't have permission to do that in fact am certain they don't. If they did why aren't they advertising all over as competition to Sunday Ticket. It may work and you can watch the games, but it's not legal. And as someone else pointed out it's one thing to watch illegal streams of games for free, but when asked to pay money never with so many free methods around. -

Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to bobobonators's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't know anything about planbeetv other than to know that if you can watch every NFL game it's not legal. I just went to their website one of the things it says there is "CHECK SPAM/JUNK BOX AFTER ORDERING AND FOR FUTURE INVOICES" That doesn't exactly sound like an above board legit website! This thing may work great and will allow you to watch every game and not that I'm all about being legal with regards to watching the games but this doesn't sound legit as there is not a legal way they can offer every NFL game. LOL, just clicked on a link to take you to the home page, instead it took me to a billing page. Doesn't exactly sound legit. As was stated there are many other free sites out there just a legal as this one. -
Brandon Beane interviews 9/7 and 9/8
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Beane doesn't like giving big signing bonuses. In Milanos case he have have to give him a big one to keep 2021 money as low as possible. Beane may only want to give him a 4 year contract, but again may need to go with 5 years to spread the money out more to lower it for 2021. -
Lamar Miller visiting Buffalo
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wonder if that will change this year as no active game day slot for a FB? Will they keep all 4 RB's active now? Either way I'd ask the same question of they cut Yeldon and signed Miller too. -
What Roster Spot Surprised You?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Wizard's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kind of surprised no one mentioned Gilliam in particular since they are now calling him a TE, not a FB?? Hard to choose though between Gilliam, Phillips, and maybe Fromm. Actually I expected Fromm to be cut on Sunday after they got Webb onto the PS, but that didn't happen either. As to players who didn't get cut probably Murphy stands out there. But still could be cut before Saturday after that I believe his salary becomes guaranteed? Without a true FB on the roster what do they really lose if instead they were to line up Singletary and Moss together in the backfield. Couldn't Moss easily fill that role with his build and supposedly he's a decent blocker? I do wonder too if not having a true FB, will that open up another active game day spot for Yeldon? Maybe will come down to Yeldon or Gilliam being active and would think the edge would go to Yeldon at least for the first few weeks of the season as Gilliam is still in the deep learning mode. -
It still could happen, the first injury where they need to make a roster move and Jake is gone. I'll rule it out on New Year Day. the Bills made him practice the last two days without shoulder pads to make sure he'd qualify. So from what I can figure there were just 4 guys the Bills didn't try to sign to PS: R Foster B Allen T Smart M Harrell Haven't seen where any of those 4 were picked up by another team??

Did The Bills Lose The Most Talent On Cut Day?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to StHustle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
# of the 4 listed for the Bills hardly played last year and the 4th was a kick returner only. Hard to believe that level of talent makes the top 5, but maybe??
