  1. The obvious and well deserved credit is going to Josh, D-line, o-line, etc. But how about a round of applause for the kick coverage units and coach 😊Smiley? Other than the uncharacteristic out of bounds kickoff, I don’t think the Rams ever got past the 25 yard line (did they?). And the Bills punt coverage? Outstanding statistically. Didn’t allow a single return yard 😀
  2. Not concerned. Doesn’t matter to me where in the draft he was taken. The Bills have been great at spotting potential and developing the players. The biggest miss was probably Cody Ford. But there have been far more hits than misses. Elam just needs some coaching to refine his game. Hopefully, seeing Benford steal the starting position will either light Elam’s fire, or tell us he’s easily defeated. If Benford turns out to be a good starter opposite Tre, so be it. I still think the Bills were determined to get a CB early in the last draft, and after the run on corners, Elam was a consolation prize and maybe number 3 or 4 on their draft board. To answer the OP directly- No. After seeing the Bills humiliate the defending champs on their home field, not the least bit concerned.
  3. Such a relief. It would’ve sucked to wait for what seemed like forever since KC only to lose. Bring on the Titans!
  4. My biggest concern is that NBC will break in every 10 minutes for updates on the Queen Elizabeth story. She’s dead, ok? Breaking News….still dead!!
  5. The Bills have an O-line that’s never played together as a unit, a new offensive coordinator, an average CB and a rookie (or 2) covering top tier WRs. And the starters barely played in preseason. I think they’ll start just as they did 2021. They’re being overhyped and have to be brought down to Earth. I think the defending champs have the edge. Would love nothing more than to be wrong. Should be close.
  6. Intimate? I don’t know. I think it’s one of those “hey, I know you. How’s things”? Awkward Small talk at the urinal while being very careful not to glance at the nearby wiener for fear the look could be interpreted as anything more than a curious and innocent comparison.
  7. Reaching very hard to make it relevant to the Bills..... actually interesting trivia if you didn't already know https://buffalonews.com/sports/this-day-in-buffalo-sports-history-cfl-vs-afl/article_248d6c47-46d7-5066-afc0-d7028f82eec1.html
  8. Like most guys who were smitten with music in the 60s, attracted to rock, and modestly talented enough to learn how to play, I was a fan of The Beatles. They were savvy enough to hang it up in '69 when they saw the future coming their way in the form of Zeppelin, Hendrix, and the mega arena performers that The Who and Stones were becoming. Rather than milking it for several more years and going out with a whimper, they preserved their legacy when they recorded Abbey Road as their swan song and went out with a bang. McCartney is a super talent and few singers had the range and power he displayed in heavy rockers. But please Paul, hang it up. I cringe listening to him perform live today. His vocal cords are shot. Sadly, he now sounds like a Beatles tribute album as performed by Grandpa Simpson.
  9. So, I’m thinking that when the cold winter winds come to my house, I’ll just install mesh screens and open the windows. If my wife b!7ches about it, I’ll just show her this thread and say ‘see, told ya. Mesh is where it’s at now baby. 21st century. Catch up, will ya?’ still trying to wrap my head around how mesh can deflect wind better than a solid exterior wall. 🧐
  10. 31-27 Rams over Bills. They are the defending champs. Worried that Stafford and WRs will expose inexperienced CBs. Judging from official Bills videos, the guys have been really relaxed and loose. Maybe too loose. Hoping when they take the field they put on their game faces and dig in hard. If our revamped D-line pressures Stafford and the Bills’ run game continues where it left off last year and they control the clock… Bills 31 Rams 27 In the Bills’ favor…For the most part Josh has been money under the bright lights of prime time over the past 3 years.
  11. I don’t get grown men wearing jerseys to NFL games. Do you go to a Broadway musical dressed like Alexander Hamilton? 😁
  12. Looks like they’re standing at the Highmark Stadium trough.
  13. Paul McGuire. Linebacker and punter, and at 84 he’s still kicking. 😜
  14. Not sure what that has to do with fans in attendance Thursday night. Is SoFi going to have a scene straight out of Michael Jackson’s ‘Bad’ video? Will the Crips and Bloods be warring over which group gets to be home or visitor?
  15. I suspect the loud and proud blue collar Bills mafia will show up in full force while the beautiful people of La-La Land will be on their cells, applying a new coat of make-up, rubbing elbows with movers and shakers, and not paying any attention. Advantage-Bills.
  16. It wouldn’t surprise me if Cook gets more looks on KOs if McKenzie gets extensive time at WR.
  17. Quite a diverse set of opinions. That’s what makes this forum great…especially if you agree with me 😜
  18. Both bass players were from Poco, the Eagles farm team basically. The countrified California rock of the early 70’ was evolving with Grateful Dead, Jackson Brown, Stone Canyon Band (Rick Nelson), Nesmith’s First National Band, Linda Ronstadt, and Poco among others. The Eagles early recording were the most successful of that group. Man, we’re getting way off track here, but anyway, I can do without these acts who had hits 50 years ago and whose voices are shot but now charge $300 at live shows so we can bask in their history. The Eagles, Skynyrd (and others) are effectively tribute bands since each has only one remaining member from the days of their early success. I’m eagerly anticipating the rematch of the surviving members of the 90s Bills and 90s Cowboys. That would be right up there with watching and listening to Ozzy.
  19. yeah, like that. My wife (Luther Vandross nut) absolutely hates that song for some reason. I’ve performed it in the past, but since Covid, it’s getting harder to hit those notes at ‘don’t your feet get cold on the wintertime’ section. Part of my distain for The Eagles is that I think Henley is a total dick. He’s got guitarist Don Felder to thank for putting million$ in his bank account. It was Felder who created the iconic chord sequence and guitar solos for their biggest hit, Hotel California. Eventually, Felder and co-dick Glenn Frey fired him.
  20. I’ll give it a listen. Just for perspective, when I saw Sabbath in ‘78, the opening act had some guitar slinger…Eddie Van something. When I saw Johnny Winter in ‘74, the opening act did a killer version of The Beatles’ Helter Skelter. The singer was some dude who looked like a lady and their only hit to date was called Dream On. Great memories, but still need to explore the current scene occasionally. I have the same feeling about the red-helmeted 90s Bills. Far more excited about the current and future Bills than re-living Jimbo, Thurman, and Bruce as if they’re anything more than a ‘long time ago’ and another life away. Time to put those dusty bobble heads in a garage sale. I don’t need to be reminded of wide right and ‘almost’ anymore. Same with the endless loop of 70s classic rock.
  21. I agree There’s a lot of crap today, but lots of good music too. You just have to dig a little deeper than what’s on mainstream airwaves. Plenty of great indie acts in every genre. My beef with ‘classic rock’ radio is the nonstop playing of the same tired songs for over 40 years. The Stones (for example) have released multiple studio LPs in 50 years, but you’ll never hear anything beyond 5 or 6 of those tracks. It’s the same with Sabbath, Floyd, The Who, Zep, Skynyrd, etc. They get about 5-6 songs each. But yeah, pump Ozzy up with whatever they give to you know who, push him towards center stage and let him belt out a $hittier version of Crazy Train or Paranoid. I’ll be in the loo taking a piss.
  22. I’m a musician and grew up in the era of ‘classic rock’, but can we please just move on? Enough already with these 70-something relic rock acts and this worn out 70’s music. If I never hear Hotel California or More Than a Feeling again I’m fine with it.
  23. Good news! We’re even closer now. I can almost taste it.
  24. 6 more sleeps? You must be one of them young’uns whose never seen the Bills in a Super Bowl. I’m thinking at least 20 more sleeps for me before kickoff. Hell, it’s barely after noon and I just dozed off for 10 minutes. I call it ‘rehearsing for eternity’. Now I’m rested and ready for any takers in a shuffleboard match. Please Bills, just 1 Lombardi before the long sleep.
