Back in my teen years working at a local pizza/sub joint, we’d get the whole ribeye frozen from the vendor and put it in the carriage of the Hobart commercial slicer, slice it thin, stack it up proportionately between deli paper, and have it ready to cook and chop on the flat top grill. The responses in the poll are a great indicator of the mentality of active posters in this forum. Firing a coach isn't a solution. Finding a better one is. Got that name handy? So rather than the knee-jerk 'fire McDermott' cries, who would you gamble on to be the coach to start all over with? Do we hope McDermott gets canned and the next great coach is there, just waiting to come to Buffalo? Let's start over and hope that before Josh turns 35 we can get to the promised land. McDermott has the best winning percentage in team history. 5 out of 6 seasons with a winning record - 4 consecutive double digit win seasons. He's had to adjust to devastating injuries to key players, the departure of a top OC, dubious draft choices (Elam). The team is .500. It's not at 2-8! They're within striking distance of the division lead with 7 games remaining. We didn't make it to the super bowl. Waaahhhhh! Neither did 25 other teams since McDermott came on board. Should all those coaches be fired? Sure, fire McDermott. Agree. Also thought that was the most interesting statement, confirming what many of us have been saying. The threat of Josh running is one of his greatest assets. Obviously, some genius in the coaching ranks has practically eliminated that facet of Josh’s game, making it easier for defenses to cover the WRs in the Bills’ unimaginative offensive schemes.

There will still be plenty of customers with $18000 for PSLs. Isn’t it a one time fee that can be financed? People are paying $50k for new trucks. $18k will be affordable to a lot of fans. For some, that will be their entertainment or vacation money. Their one big luxury. In a household with an annual income of at least $100k, spending maybe $7500/year for their beloved Bills will be part of their annual entertainment and won’t cripple them financially. The blue collar worker making $45000 probably will be priced out of the season ticket market and have to settle for the occasional single game tickets. That’s the world of pro sports today.

I recently stumbled upon some comments from Bills fans dating back to 2017. I forget what site it was (a Facebook fan page?) I don't know how I got there, but it was amusing to read the comments. The comments were posted immediately after acquiring Kelvin Benjamin. There was great excitement and anticipation, believing he would bolster the receiving corps and the Bills would have one of the best group of receivers with him and Charles Clay on the field together. In hindsight, it pretty laughable. But, it's typical of the fan reaction when we pick up some 'has-been' who another team has determined won't contribute much. Sherfield and Harty are not 'has-beens', more like 'never-weres'. They're typical JAGs. Not bad, not great. Just guys who'll never hear the words pro bowl or hall of fame mentioned in the same sentence as their names. I can't honestly say those two are an upgrade from Brown and Beasely 2019. Maybe not even as potent as Brown/Beasely 2022. We're going backwards. The Bills desperately need a legitimate threat to go along with Digg, Shakir, and Kinkaid.

Yes, but unlikely, especially when the head to head and conference record gives tiebreakers to pretty much any other 10-7. The Bills best chance to make the playoffs is as division winner. That would mean knocking off some pretty tough teams and hoping Miami goes into a slump and loses to the Bills in Miami. Right now, unless the Bills ‘figure it out’, they will miss the playoffs. With half their opening day starting defense out and dubious play execution on offense, enjoy the remaining games, but realize there’s probably only 8 more. Maybe they can get closer to picks between 15 and 20 in the draft to get an impact receiver.

And the Bills get a night game, on the road, the day that the clocks get set back an hour, so by the start of the 4th quarter it’ll feel like it’s going on midnight. There might be some heavy eyelids on the visitor’s side tonight. Hell, I’ll need an afternoon nap to stay awake. It doesn’t help that I had to get up at 2am to change all my clocks and watches.

Football is the only sport I’m aware of in which the officials throw laundry onto the playing surface to indicate a violation of the rules. We’re used to it by now, but if you think about it, it’s sort of gay. Slightly less gay than the hand signal for a safety.

Look no further than the misguided opinions regarding the Wyoming QB in the 2018 draft by several of the 'experts'.

Mostly true. Always watch the Bills and occasionally catch other games, but I can’t sit on a sofa all weekend watching movies and sports. Not into fantasy football or gambling. So no, I don’t have much knowledge of second tier players on other teams. For me, there’s more to life than spending hours as a passive observer.

That was a long time ago so I don't recall all of the details, but the situation was vastly different. The Cowboys were under new ownership, and the new owner (Jerry Jones) had no sentimental ties to the existing regime. And he just happened to be a close acquaintance of a guy (Jimmy Johnson) who he wanted as his coach even before making the deal. In the case of Belichick, the owner and coach have hoisted the Lombardi trophy together and celebrated the dynasty of the early 2000s as part of the same organization. If Kraft sees it as time to rebuild under a new front office and coaching staff, he's almost certainly going to be diplomatic and cognizant of optics and encourage Belichick to gracefully retire. The only way I see Belichick getting fired is if he was just plain stubborn and refused Kraft's 'offer' or he were caught up in some controversy that necessitated his dismissal. I suspect Belichick will realize his best days are behind him and voluntarily walk off into the sunset on his own terms within a year or two.

Don’t count on it. I can’t recall any time in recent memory that the Bills haven’t been super cautious about bringing back injured players.

I like Shakir. Last year he showed flashes as a rookie. I can’t understand why he’s kept under wraps instead of giving him game experience to develop chemistry with Josh to make the most of his skills. Instead, they bring in Beasley and Brown, then Harty and Sherfield while effectively ignoring the diamond in the rough waiting to be polished. This may sound premature, but I believe if used properly and given the opportunity, he could be a player who might remind us of Andre Reed. Diggs, Davis, Shakir, Kincaid, and Cook coming out of the backfield would create tough matchups for most defenses. Especially if they fully incorporate the faster tempo they employed Thursday night. The added bonus of a more frequent 11 formation with that personnel would be opening lanes for Josh to run through if the play design cleared out the middle of the secondary. Go ahead, keep a spy in there. Good luck covering the that group of sure-handed skill players. The 2 TE setup didn’t result in the dynamic offense they’re capable of fielding. With the Bills injury-depleted defense, they’ll need to rely more on scoring and creating separation with big leads. The offense has the players to make it happen.

Comments like that are unjustified and just plain rude. There’s certainly nothing unusual about his appearance. In fact, my impression is he’s extremely regimented and fastidious. I’d lay down money that he’s the neighbor who has the perfect orderly garage with every tool neatly hung on a pegboard, his lawnmower winterized, and a shiny epoxy coated floor under his spotless car for which he has comprehensive maintenance records in a file cabinet. Not creepy. Just the guy our wives always compare us to.

For those of us around long enough to remember, the Bills vs Patriots game had the rarely witnessed PI called on the Bills on a Hail Mary to give the Pats the ball at the 1 YD line with a chance to win. Which of course they took advantage of to win the game. It was a ticky-tacky call where the defender was positioning himself for the ball. I believe that was the same game in 1998 in which one of the patriots receivers was well short of the first down marker but the official was heard saying ‘just give it to them’. If ever there was a game that you’d question if games were rigged, that was it. But that was 25 years ago - the last time I can recall a PI penalty called on a Hail Mary where all players were bumping into each other as they’re targeting the same ball. Pass interference calls in that situation are basically unheard of. Unless one of the Bills were blatantly pulling a potential receiver out of the play, no flag was coming out.

Brown is extremely thorough and offers intelligent counterpoint to Tasker on their afternoon show. It’s clear he does the research and is excellent at analyzing the Bills on and off the field. Probably a good columnist/writer. But, as the radio voice he’s not what one expect at the NFL level. His presentation sounds overly affected. Is he really THAT exited when the Bills score? Somehow, that style worked uniquely for longtime Sabres voice Rick Jeanerette, but Brown sounds like an impressionable youngster doing a bedroom impersonation of the icon. Stick to the talk show format and writing.
