  1. How'd like to be the guy chosen for he 2025 wall of fame honor, knowing that when they unveil your name on the wall, O.J.'s name has been up there more than 30 years after the murders, and your name will be in a pile of ruble in a matter of months? 😊
  2. Oliver and Phillips, or whoever is playing DT. Actually, any of the front 7 (including Johnson). The Bills need to be able to stop the run. The Patriots and Jets are gearing up to have stout run games, probably realizing that is the Bills biggest weakness. The Colts and Titans made the Bills look like a DIV III team with their runs. One loss against an inferior opponent can mean the difference between being at home or away, or even making the playoffs. But if I have to narrow it down, it's mostly the guys in the middle of the D-line.
  3. Exactly. In the words of Hank Bullough, the Bills 'took the sails out of their wind'. KC had to scratch and claw to win at home against the Bills. When the Bengals came in, they were playing a team still recovering from the previous battle. I have little doubt that if the Bills had won and hosted the Bengals in the AFCC, they would have beat the snot out of them. In some ways, I'm almost glad they didn't get to the superbowl. Not sure they were quite ready. If they'd lost it would have stirred up the whole 'Bills lose superbowls' talk and the current team (most of whom weren't even born since last appearance) would be saddled with that stigma. I'm not worried about that now. With the FA signings and draft class, there are few (if any) weakness on this team. If they stay healthy, they should be able to beat any other team soundly. They just need to take care of business and not lose to vastly inferior teams like the Jags and Stillers. Those are the kind of losses that will determine being at home or on the road come playoff time.
  4. Don't know if Hamlin will be 'a stud', but he's been praised by people within the organization. There are a few candidates who are already backup safeties or can be converted from CB, including some rookies. As good as Poyer has been in tandem with Hyde, he's getting older and more expensive. He's under contract now, so he's got zero leverage unless he chooses not to play and not get paid. The Patriots have been historically smart about not getting too emotionally attached to veterans and knowing when to cut them loose for the good of the team. The Bills have hit on lower round prospects and undrafted FAs because they often identify players with the raw skills sets who are smart and coachable. Neither Hyde or Poyer were all-pro candidates before coming to Buffalo. This is likely Poyer's final year with the Bills and I'm not too worried about his eventual replacement.
  5. And going into last season he exclaimed that he had a whole new attitude and his head was now on straight (or something to that affect). He was almost worse than the year before. Bust.
  6. Can't figure out why anyone thinks Quessenberry is an upgrade from the guards we've had the past couple of years. Looking at his history, looks like a journeyman who was average at best. I'm going to guess Beane finds some better IOL after 4pm.
  7. Who does this self-important wanker_celler-dweller in this video think he is? Go upstairs and help your mom get the groceries out of the station wagon you d-bag.
  8. Holy cow. That punt in the video- 2 yds deep in end zone to opponents 18 yd line. 84 yards from foot to turf. Impressive.
  9. Put the playbook on the plane? What, we supposed to courier it down to West Palm? Small market team. Ain’t made of money K. Look out the window at the clouds or something.
  10. I think his role as 'signal caller' is overrated. It's more about his placement in the middle of the defense than his acumen as a defensive genius. He's in the best position on that side of the ball to relay signals to the rest of the defense. I suspect he's mostly the proxy mouthpiece from the D Coordinator who radios signals to him. If Edmunds was that knowledgeable about defensive schemes, I doubt he'd be getting burned and out of position as he often is.
  11. If the Bills had a lot of holes to fill I'd agree about using a 1st round pick on a RB. The consensus has been to pick WR or CB. We have 3 pretty good receivers and a couple in the wings (Hodgins and Stevenson) that may still pan out. You could make an argument for CB, but we expect to get White back sooner than later. As I stated in a previous thread, the Bills went 5-3 after White went down (not even counting the win in that Saints game). 1 of those losses being the wind bowl at home against Pats, and the other 2 OT losses against the previous 2 superbowl winners, TB and KC. I don't see CB being as dire a need as some believe. Although some great RBs have lasted past round 1 in recent years, you run the risk of settling for another Moss or Singletary. Decent enough backs, but no opposing team is working overtime to figure out how to stop them. I'd love to see a RB in the backfield that is a weapon to be feared. Whatever the Bills do, I have complete trust in Beane and the personnel dept. so I'll be happy with any path they choose.
  12. The old 'triplets' thing might be outdated, but on the other hand, maybe it's a counter to all the defenses like the Bills' who are now focusing on pass coverage. If we had a back that could catch and power through the front line, it might save some wear and tear on our QB - keeping him from running so often on those short yardage situations. At the very least, it could provide more RPO schemes, opening up the mid to deep part of the field for the TEs and WRs. I want to give opposing defenses match up nightmares. With a QB like JA and the other skill positions, including a threatening RB, it could keep opponents up at night trying to figure out how to stop the Bills.
  13. Right. I meant to say Stallworth.
  14. Not sure if it's been brought up here, but other than being a talented back who can run and catch, is Hall a culture fit for the Buffalo Bills? I get the impression from the way the Bills have operated under Beane that building team chemistry and having the right personalities is just as important as raw talent. I don't know anything about Hall. Have never seen/heard an interview or anything to give me a sense of who he is as a person. When I think historically notorious offenses I think of 'triplets'. Smith, Aikman, Irvin. Thomas, Kelly, Reed. Rice, Montana, Craig. Bradshaw, Harris, Swan etc. I see Singletary as more of what Kenny Davis was to Thurman. A serviceable and dependable backup who can spell the feature guy. Could Hall become the third triplet to round out the offense?
  15. Assuming I can wait another 40 hours to get the answers without taxing my mind this much.
  16. What happened to Tremaine? The "he's young and he's only in his 1st, 2nd, 3rd year" excuse expired. His perceived potential has never been realized. Why hasn't he really held up to his first round grade? The grade was given for an athletic LB with a high ceiling. Pure pre-draft speculation. Can he rebound? No. He doesn't have the temperament. He's robotic - not instinctive. He's soft. What are the chances? I'd guess zero. I don't think he has the seek and destroy mentality it takes to be a top tier LB. Will money motivate him as he finishes up his current contract? If money is what he needs for motivation, he's on the wrong team. Any insights on what Beane and the Bills brass think about Tremaine and his future in Buffalo? Nope. They haven't consulted with me so far. My bet is Edmunds is traded soon, or if no reasonable offers come their way, he's allowed to play out his contract as they continue to offer him up before the trade deadline. Could Tremaine be used as trade bait on draft day? Or before? Of course. Anything is possible. My take all along has been the question of is he more or is he less valuable than he was on draft day 2018 at pick # 17? At barely 24 years old come September, and with 4 years NFL of experience, he should be at least AS valuable. But he's not. Maybe a 2nd rounder by the right buyer. Probably 3rd round value. If some team offers a first, I'd hope they accept that offer as fast as they can before that trade partner reviews all the tape. This draft is fairly deep in LB talent, even on day 3. Should we move on or put our faith in Tremaine? Open competition (if he's still on the roster). May the best man win.
  17. Booker Moore, 1st rounder who played in 51 games and ended his 4-year career with a total of 423 rushing yards. RIP
  18. Unless our clever GM gets the NYG # 7, then turns around and trades that # 7 for a couple mid to late # 1's. Edmunds gone and replaced with lower cap hit LB who's not afraid to hit (2nd first round pick), and still have additional # 1 to get first rounder that's just enough picks higher than # 25 to get the CB they covet. Brilliant. 😏 Rumors are just that- rumors.
  19. About month later than it used to be. Until last year, I believe, the schedule came out just ahead of the draft. But, everything is 'an event' now with the NFL. Not too many years ago it was just a news item publication in the daily paper without much fanfare. Now, ESPN and NFL Network milk several hours of air time out of the 'schedule release'. I'll admit, I'm susceptible to the method through which the NFL feeds our football hunger piecemeal throughout the off-season.
  20. No contest - Beth Mowens. It's when that mute button on the remote really earns it's keep.
  21. Unlike many of you, I’ve been reasonably happy with DIRECTV. Have had it since ‘98. After years of crowded sports bars with snot-nosed kids running around while trying to watch the Bills, ST at home has been a godsend. Before the advent of satellite dishes and spirts bars, we had to pray that the Bills were shown locally or that we could catch a few post-game highlights. I love the luxury of sitting in my comfy chair with the fire blazing, no distractions, snacks within arms reach, etc. I like having DIRECTV and recorded shows accessible on all TVs concurrently. I like the DVR features. I’ve been able to negotiate reasonable monthly fees. I’ve paid little or nothing for Sunday Ticket for years. Customer Service isn’t always perfect, but overall it has been decent. The CSRs are generally helpful and willing to accommodate. Occasionally I’ll get one who’s tougher to deal with or difficult to understand, so I end the call and try another again with a different rep. I’ve experienced very few outages. Only temporary outages when a large weather system is between my dish and the bird. Rarely more than a couple of minutes. My neighbors with cable have had more frequent issues. I don’t know what the service will be when Apple takes over the ST package, but hoping I’ll be able to enjoy the same functionality at a reasonable price. Hoping 4k (or better) will become a standard for NFL broadcasts. I may join a gang of local Bills Backers this season at our Anchor Bar or one of the other area venues for a game, but for most games I’ll be fireside, remote in hand, watching from the cozy confines of my living room.
  22. 4 scheduled, including at Detroit for Thanksgiving. 5 if flexed 8 if flexed and including the 3 playoff games.
  23. I’m thinking Beane, knowing last January that Dabol and Schoen we’re headed down the road, penciled in a bunch of duds on the war room white board just to mess wit their minds! Gen-I-us !
