A girl I know is hugely into anything horror. Not my thing, but according to her the final (supposedly) offering in the Mike Myers saga, ‘Halloween Ends’, is beyond terrible. She almost walked out of the theatre. That bad. For anyone who doesn’t know, the Mike Myers mask is a William Shatner face mask. I noticed it the first time I saw Halloween. If I’d been in charge of the final Halloween flick, I’d have had him finally killed with his victims removing his mask to reveal…..actor William Shatner. (this is why nobody leaves me in charge of anything) 😏

I absolutely HATE The Beach Boys. Most top recording artists praise them. McCartney loves Brian Wilson and especially their ‘66 LP Pet Sounds. I think lead vocalist Mike Love (not the one on the Bills) is a giant douche with a vocal range of maybe a single octave. Their songs are gay AF. One song I sort of like that has a little R&B vibe is ‘Sail On Sailor’. Turns out they weren’t pleased with vocal attempts by any band members so they got non-member, singer/guitarist Blondie Chaplin to handle lead vocal. Ironically, the one song by them that I like is the only one that Brian Wilson hates. What The Beach Boys sound like to my ears:

That’s actually one of my concerns- that a defender will bait him into hurdling by looking like he’s going for the low tackle, and once Josh is airborne, the defender stands up and turns Josh into a human cartwheel. In the past, the element of surprise has allowed his hurdles to be successful, but with a higher profile these days and being recognized as a jumper, Josh might be wise to put that move on ice before he ends up with a Don Beebe-like head bounce.

Looks like Bills-Jets are on locally in Atl again this week. Bills games have had some of the best TV ratings over the past couple of years, especially in the prime time games. Move over Cowboys - the Bills are now America’s team!

If you’re in Atlanta, about the only Bills game that wasn’t shown locally was the Steelers matchup. Don’t you have any other means to get local programming (over the air, basic cable)?

Well, the Broncos pick of Chubb in 2018 may have been a catalyst for the Bills being able to get Josh.

I've been a vocal critic of Edmunds before this season. He earned the criticism with poor tackling, getting blocked out of plays, taking bad angles, etc. But, it's obvious he's stepped up his game this year in a big way. I think he heard the whispers and probably got together with his coaches to help see what he could do to improve. He's done a great job this season. Give credit where's it's due.

At the risk of sound like the ‘get off my lawn’ guy, I suspect it’s largely generational. Not to say there aren’t a- holes in every generation, but I really believe we’re seeing the fruition of a generation of over- indulged brats who were raised by parents who wanted to be ‘their pals’ and were afraid to instill discipline. The result is a population of self-centered narcissists who have no regard for anything or anyone that doesn’t benefit them.

That attitude is ignorant and self-centered. Maybe we should allow smoking in all public spaces too. If you non-smokers don’t like it-tough, right? Having obnoxious drunks pissing themselves- yeah, embrace it. the problem is that you can’t discern the line between enthusiastic fans who want to enjoy themselves and support their team, and complete idiots puking and pissing themselves who have absolutely no regard for anyone but themselves.

Since the injury, the Bills record, including thanksgiving and playoffs is 11-4. 2 of those losses were OT games against Brady and Mahomes. it will be great to get him back on the field, but their post-Tre record indicates there’s no need to rush him back.

Making it worse is the idiotic NFL rule that if the Dolphins choose not to use the misting/cooling blowers that can give some relief, the opposing team can't use them either. I honestly believe that these issues will be brought up at one of the owners meetings. This is about more than fairness (which it isn't) - this is about the serious health concerns that can arise from over-heating.

Nevermind that the Bills basically fielding their preseason team, if the Dolphins were on the sunny side in that heat, I give the Bills the edge. I truly believe that the short pass that missed McKenzie in the end zone was just Josh running out of gas and getting sloppy. So, to me the argument that they lost to an inferior team is more about not having a level playing field.

The Lions will have a short week too. That gives us a mini-bye before going to New England. With numerous injuries the Bills beat the defending super bowl champs, Ravens, the Titans-top AFC seen 9 months earlier, and just defeated perennial juggernaut Chiefs. They barely lost to the Dolphins. If Josh wasn’t running on fumes in that heat, he completes the pass to McKenzie and Bills win. Unless Josh goes down, I don’t have any worries regarding remaining opponents. They may have an off day and stumble against the Jets or some other inferior team, but I believe they’re focused and will be top seed.

Don’t think so. Going by her body language and the request (“would you tell him to settle down a little bit?”) it was most likely directed at the people he was with- possibly the person filming. The guy was obnoxious and obviously needed a lot of attention, making sure everyone he saw knew he was Diggs’ uncle. It’s great being an enthusiastic fan, but I suspect he’s one of those guys that’s always loud and just never shuts up.

Agree. It’s ironic how the NFL bends over backwards addressing helmet to helmet, hits to the knees, and generally protecting the players from injury and other health issues, but ignores the seriousness of heat- related health that has the potential to cause permanent organ damage and even death. Sadly, a 300 lb player dying on the field, suffering brain damage or having kidney failure will be what it takes before the NFL does something to make it safer. It’s insane that players on the visiting side can’t use the cooling misting devices if the Dolphins elect not to. That’s just wrong. I’m curious whether someone from the Bills or other teams has begun a dialogue with the NFL to address these concerns.

Thanks for the reminder why I stay home to watch. The poor woman sitting in the row in front of him with the Chiefs gear asking him to settle down- that would be me.

There’s a place in Cartersville called Larry’s. I believe they use those fantastic Costanzo rolls made in Cheektowaga. They even have that signature Italian sausage/capicola Royal sub popular in WNY. Looks every bit like John & Mary’s or other Buffalo area sub shops. It’s about 30 minutes up I-75 for me. Looks like there’s another one south of Atl in Fayetteville. What a great edge-of-your-seat game! The Bills are 5-1, have the playoff seeding edge against both Ravens and Chiefs, have a bye week to rest and recover, injured players including Tre White are coming back, 3 out of next 4 games in Orchard Park with the (perceived) hardest stretch of the schedule behind them. McDermis was on WGR with Sal Capicola this morning and said Kumerow is only player ruled out for Sunday. Encouraging.
