  1. To be fair, I’d argue it’s few and far between on guys that give their all. It’s shades of grey not black and white with effort
  2. Or maybe he had modest offers and thought he could play into a better one
  3. Cutting and trading everyone creating a cap disaster and then having it clear because you didn’t spend for a year is the easy part that anyone could do. Going forward is the actual challenge.
  4. Did you also cry when they cancelled?
  5. And in the meantime- solid depth. This is is the phase where we can have a legion of boom, Marshawn Lynch, multiple pass rushers and still make a dumb trade for Percy Harvin just for a super bowl kick return. or look at those 9ers teams around kaepernick if these 6 guys give us 3 starters and 2 backups we actually have a strong line all season. Top 10 pass rusher and day two picks at WR and RB and we will be pretty stacked and have depth at key spots What I mean is this in no way precludes addressing them.
  6. We still have sooooo many resources to use. Don’t be scared John. We can actually build a real team. You don’t have to pretend to like jokers like you normally do ?
  7. Right but at a 35% discount on the annual rate, I’m near positive he’d be all about really tying himself up for what amounts to his 2 biggest contracts rolled into one bargain basement deal.
  8. I read a few other teams boards with some regularity and can’t say I can think of another fan base that mentions money to sign the rookies even 50% as much as here just an interesting anecdote that I’ve noticed
  9. People here were outraged about him getting in
  10. You must be rich betting the over on the bills every year
  11. Hi joe. i don’t think it’s a fake pic in the sense that it’s totally fabricated but I do think you did something with it to touch it up and it really looks fake now
  12. You missed that his penthouse was a modest apartment in a transitional neighborhood
  13. Thanks for doing this! If if you cut the old guys what does it look like for the modern Nfl?
  14. I wouldn’t be shocked if we went back but then up again with later picks. I think we come out with less players than we currently have picks but that could spin a lot of ways still
  15. You identify a need or goal for an organization and try to find fits to fill it. you have to give some consideration to trends but have to be careful. For instance right now it’s hard to keep a successful OC in place so I’d give extra weight to having an offensive head coach for continuity sake. But I’d also want that guy to have a lot of key characteristics- things like innovative and flexible, not always young. Or data driven and confident to make the right call even if it looks terrible on ESPN when you come up on the wrong side of the odds. some of the qualities lend themselves to youth but it shouldn’t be the driver
  16. Where this actually effects us is Ansah. saints were pushing for Quinn and I think had Ansah on the back burner. I suspect their interest will go up a bit now and it’s a bit less likely he comes to buffalo but we will see how it plays out
  17. The flip side is that as a day two trade he’s not the king that a top half of round 1 pick is. Depending on the definition of cheap- he makes sense for just about any team as a flyer (given even moderate scheme fit). Even if mediocre he’s a relatively average back up on an affordable contract it won’t happen here, but it’s not the level of crazy some are portraying
  18. The flipside is he just sky rocketed his appeal in a niche that may rabidly support him. Even if 90% of Netflix viewers boycott a movie, if he now takes almost the entirety of the remaining 10% it can be a successful release (I know the percentages are random and arbitrary and not accurate estimates even)
  19. Truly don’t go nuclear right out of the gate. As you mention it’s largely regular people trying their best at local level jobs. They also likely see you as still having the majority of the weekdays and all of the weekends so they may have considered this a pretty good compromise. Ultimately, is there anything other than 100% access to this field that would satisfy your needs? That’s what I meant by go with answers not problems. Is there another unused field in the town that could be used for drills part of the week for instance?
  20. With a base nickel he’s essentially starting regardless
  21. I think beane feels little pressure because of his injury status (kind of a moderate risk high reward but not required piece) and Ansah would pick the saints if the Quinn trade doesn’t work. No shade here. Just a shot at a ring and some more pieces on the line with him so he’s less of a focal point. It’ll be interesting to see where these couple of pieces land.
  22. I think they will go BPA. I think few, if any, moves in free agency will change that evaluation. Without actually listing names and individual odds- i guess id say it’s about 33% edge rusher, 33% DT and 33% the field if trying to project what’s bpa at 9
  23. They haven’t shown who they are and everyone is curious to find out. I’d rather watch that than two teams that feel like they will compete for a 4 seed but not championship
  24. Ultimately, few (if any) positions have a definitive #1 all time. rarely is the most naturally gifted also both the healthiest and on the best team. That gronk is very near the top of two of those is enough to deserve the conversation but not enough to close the conversation
